Surah Ash-Shams • Quran 91

وَٱلشَّمۡسِ waAshshamsi
وَضُحَىٰهَا  waduhaaha
١
91:1 By the sun and its brightness,
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ waAlqamari
إِذَا Idha
تَلَىٰهَا  talaaha
٢
91:2 And the moon when it follows it,
وَٱلنَّهَارِ waAnnahari
إِذَا Idha
جَلَّىٰهَا  jallaaha
٣
91:3 And the day when it displays it,
وَٱلَّیۡلِ waAllayli
إِذَا Idha
یَغۡشَىٰهَا  yaghshaaha
٤
91:4 And the night when it covers it,
وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ waAssamaa'i
وَمَا wama
بَنَىٰهَا  banaaha
٥
91:5 And the heaven and (He) Who constructed it,
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ waAlArdi
وَمَا wama
طَحَىٰهَا  tahaaha
٦
91:6 And the earth and (He) Who spread it,
وَنَفۡسࣲ wanafs
وَمَا wama
سَوَّىٰهَا  sawwaaha
٧
91:7 And (the) soul and (He) Who proportioned it,
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا faAlhamaha
فُجُورَهَا fujuraha
وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا  wataqwaaha
٨
91:8 And He inspired it (to distinguish) its wickedness and its righteousness
قَدۡ qad
أَفۡلَحَ Aflaha
مَن man
زَكَّىٰهَا  zakkaaha
٩
91:9 Indeed, he succeeds who purifies it,
وَقَدۡ waqad
خَابَ khaba
مَن man
دَسَّىٰهَا  dassaaha
١٠
91:10 And indeed, he fails who buries it.
كَذَّبَتۡ kadhdhabat
ثَمُودُ thamudu
بِطَغۡوَىٰهَاۤ  bitaghwaahaa
١١
91:11 Denied Thamud by their transgression,
إِذِ Idhi
ٱنۢبَعَثَ Inba'atha
أَشۡقَىٰهَا  Ashqaaha
١٢
91:12 When (was) sent forth (the) most wicked of them.
فَقَالَ faqala
لَهُمۡ lahum
رَسُولُ rasulu
ٱللَّهِ Allahi
نَاقَةَ naqaha
ٱللَّهِ Allahi
وَسُقۡیَـٰهَا  wasuqyaaha
١٣
91:13 But said to them (the) Messenger (of) Allah, "(It is the) she-camel (of) Allah and her drink."
فَكَذَّبُوهُ fakadhdhabuhu
فَعَقَرُوهَا fa'aqaruha
فَدَمۡدَمَ fadamdama
عَلَیۡهِمۡ 'alayhim
رَبُّهُم rabbuhum
بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ bidhanbihim
فَسَوَّىٰهَا  fasawwaaha
١٤
91:14 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her. So destroyed them their Lord for their sin and leveled them.
وَلَا wala
یَخَافُ yakhafu
عُقۡبَـٰهَا  'uqbaaha
١٥
91:15 And not He fears its consequences.
