Surah Al-Muddaththir • Quran 74

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا yaayyuha
ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ  Almuddaththiru
١
74:1 O you who covers himself!
قُمۡ qum
فَأَنذِرۡ  faAndhir
٢
74:2 Stand up and warn,
وَرَبَّكَ warabbaka
فَكَبِّرۡ  fakabbir
٣
74:3 And your Lord magnify,
وَثِیَابَكَ wathiyabaka
فَطَهِّرۡ  fatahhir
٤
74:4 And your clothing purify,
وَٱلرُّجۡزَ waArrujza
فَٱهۡجُرۡ  faIhjur
٥
74:5 And uncleanliness avoid,
وَلَا wala
تَمۡنُن tamnun
تَسۡتَكۡثِرُ  tastakthiru
٦
74:6 And (do) not confer favor (to) acquire more,
وَلِرَبِّكَ walirabbika
فَٱصۡبِرۡ  faIsbir
٧
74:7 And for your Lord be patient.
فَإِذَا faIdha
نُقِرَ nuqira
فِی fi
ٱلنَّاقُورِ  Annaquri
٨
74:8 Then when is blown in the trumpet,
فَذَ ٰلِكَ fadhaalika
یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ yawmaaidh
یَوۡمٌ yawmun
عَسِیرٌ  'asirun
٩
74:9 That Day, (will be) a Day difficult,
عَلَى 'alaa
ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ Alkaafirina
غَیۡرُ ghayru
یَسِیرࣲ  yasir
١٠
74:10 For the disbelievers - not easy.
ذَرۡنِی dharni
وَمَنۡ waman
خَلَقۡتُ khalaqtu
وَحِیدࣰا  wahida
١١
74:11 Leave Me and whom I created alone,
وَجَعَلۡتُ waja'altu
لَهُۥ lahu
مَالࣰا mala
مَّمۡدُودࣰا  mmamduda
١٢
74:12 And I granted to him wealth extensive,
وَبَنِینَ wabanina
شُهُودࣰا  shuhuda
١٣
74:13 And children present,
وَمَهَّدتُّ wamahhadttu
لَهُۥ lahu
تَمۡهِیدࣰا  tamhida
١٤
74:14 And I spread for him, ease.
ثُمَّ thumma
یَطۡمَعُ yatma'u
أَنۡ An
أَزِیدَ  Azida
١٥
74:15 Then he desires that I (should) add more.
كَلَّاۤۖ kallaa
إِنَّهُۥ Innahu
كَانَ kana
لِءَایَـٰتِنَا li'ayaatina
عَنِیدࣰا  'anida
١٦
74:16 By no means! Indeed, he has been to Our Verses stubborn.
سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ saAurhiquhu
صَعُودًا  sa'udana
١٧
74:17 Soon I will cover Him (with) a laborious punishment.
إِنَّهُۥ Innahu
فَكَّرَ fakkara
وَقَدَّرَ  waqaddara
١٨
74:18 Indeed, he thought and plotted.
فَقُتِلَ faqutila
كَیۡفَ kayfa
قَدَّرَ  qaddara
١٩
74:19 So may he be destroyed, how he plotted!
ثُمَّ thumma
قُتِلَ qutila
كَیۡفَ kayfa
قَدَّرَ  qaddara
٢٠
74:20 Then may he be destroyed, how he plotted!
ثُمَّ thumma
نَظَرَ  nazara
٢١
74:21 Then he looked;
ثُمَّ thumma
عَبَسَ 'abasa
وَبَسَرَ  wabasara
٢٢
74:22 Then he frowned and scowled;
ثُمَّ thumma
أَدۡبَرَ Adbara
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ  waIstakbara
٢٣
74:23 Then he turned back and was proud,
فَقَالَ faqala
إِنۡ In
هَـٰذَاۤ haadhaa
إِلَّا Illa
سِحۡرࣱ sihr
یُؤۡثَرُ  yuutharu
٢٤
74:24 Then he said, "Not (is) this but magic imitated.
إِنۡ In
هَـٰذَاۤ haadhaa
إِلَّا Illa
قَوۡلُ qawlu
ٱلۡبَشَرِ  Albashari
٢٥
74:25 Not (is) this but (the) word (of) a human being."
سَأُصۡلِیهِ saAuslihi
سَقَرَ  saqara
٢٦
74:26 Soon I will drive him (into) Hell.
وَمَاۤ wamaa
أَدۡرَىٰكَ Adraaka
مَا ma
سَقَرُ  saqaru
٢٧
74:27 And what can make you know what (is) Hell?
لَا la
تُبۡقِی tubqi
وَلَا wala
تَذَرُ  tadharu
٢٨
74:28 Not it lets remain and not it leaves,
لَوَّاحَةࣱ lawwahah
لِّلۡبَشَرِ  llilbashari
٢٩
74:29 Scorching the human (skin).
عَلَیۡهَا 'alayha
تِسۡعَةَ tis'aha
عَشَرَ  'ashara
٣٠
74:30 Over it (are) nine (i.e nineteen) ten (i.e nineteen)
وَمَا wama
جَعَلۡنَاۤ ja'alnaa
أَصۡحَـٰبَ Ashaaba
ٱلنَّارِ Annari
إِلَّا Illa
مَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةࣰۖ malaaikah
وَمَا wama
جَعَلۡنَا ja'alna
عِدَّتَهُمۡ 'iddatahum
إِلَّا Illa
فِتۡنَةࣰ fitnah
لِّلَّذِینَ llilladhina
كَفَرُوا۟ kafarua
لِیَسۡتَیۡقِنَ liyastayqina
ٱلَّذِینَ Alladhina
أُوتُوا۟ Autua
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ Alkitaaba
وَیَزۡدَادَ wayazdada
ٱلَّذِینَ Alladhina
ءَامَنُوۤا۟ 'amanua
إِیمَـٰنࣰا Imaana
وَلَا wala
یَرۡتَابَ yartaba
ٱلَّذِینَ Alladhina
أُوتُوا۟ Autua
ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ Alkitaaba
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ waAlmuuminuna
وَلِیَقُولَ waliyaqula
ٱلَّذِینَ Alladhina
فِی fi
قُلُوبِهِم qulubihim
مَّرَضࣱ mmarad
وَٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ waAlkaafiruna
مَاذَاۤ madhaa
أَرَادَ Arada
ٱللَّهُ Allahu
بِهَـٰذَا bihaadha
مَثَلࣰاۚ mathala
كَذَ ٰلِكَ kadhaalika
یُضِلُّ yudillu
ٱللَّهُ Allahu
مَن man
یَشَاۤءُ yashaa'u
وَیَهۡدِی wayahdi
مَن man
یَشَاۤءُۚ yashaa'u
وَمَا wama
یَعۡلَمُ ya'lamu
جُنُودَ junuda
رَبِّكَ rabbika
إِلَّا Illa
هُوَۚ huwa
وَمَا wama
هِیَ hiya
إِلَّا Illa
ذِكۡرَىٰ dhikraa
لِلۡبَشَرِ  lilbashari
٣١
74:31 And not We have made keepers (of) the Fire except Angels. And not We have made their number except (as) a trial for those who disbelieve - that may be certain those who were given the Scripture and may increase those who believe (in) faith, and not may doubt those who were given the Scripture and the believers, and that may say those in their hearts (is) a disease and the disbelievers "What (does) intend Allah by this example?" Thus does let go astray Allah whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows (the) hosts (of) your Lord except Him. And not it (is) but a reminder to (the) human beings.
كَلَّا kalla
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ  waAlqamari
٣٢
74:32 Nay! By the moon,
وَٱلَّیۡلِ waAllayli
إِذۡ Idh
أَدۡبَرَ  Adbara
٣٣
74:33 And the night when it departs,
وَٱلصُّبۡحِ waAssubhi
إِذَاۤ Idhaa
أَسۡفَرَ  Asfara
٣٤
74:34 And the morning when it brightens,
إِنَّهَا Innaha
لَإِحۡدَى laIhdaa
ٱلۡكُبَرِ  Alkubari
٣٥
74:35 Indeed, it (is) surely one (of) the greatest,
نَذِیرࣰا nadhira
لِّلۡبَشَرِ  llilbashari
٣٦
74:36 A warning to (the) human being,
لِمَن liman
شَاۤءَ shaa'a
مِنكُمۡ minkum
أَن An
یَتَقَدَّمَ yataqaddama
أَوۡ Aw
یَتَأَخَّرَ  yataAkhkhara
٣٧
74:37 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.
كُلُّ kullu
نَفۡسِۭ nafsi
بِمَا bima
كَسَبَتۡ kasabat
رَهِینَةٌ  rahinahun
٣٨
74:38 Every soul, for what it has earned, (is) pledged,
إِلَّاۤ Illaa
أَصۡحَـٰبَ Ashaaba
ٱلۡیَمِینِ  Alyamini
٣٩
74:39 Except (the) companions (of) the right,
فِی fi
جَنَّـٰتࣲ jannaat
یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ  yatasaa'aluna
٤٠
74:40 In Gardens, asking each other,
عَنِ 'ani
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ  Almujrimina
٤١
74:41 About the criminals,
مَا ma
سَلَكَكُمۡ salakakum
فِی fi
سَقَرَ  saqara
٤٢
74:42 "What led you into Hell?"
قَالُوا۟ qalua
لَمۡ lam
نَكُ naku
مِنَ mina
ٱلۡمُصَلِّینَ  Almusallina
٤٣
74:43 They will say, "Not we were of those who prayed,
وَلَمۡ walam
نَكُ naku
نُطۡعِمُ nut'imu
ٱلۡمِسۡكِینَ  Almiskina
٤٤
74:44 And not we used to feed the poor,
وَكُنَّا wakunna
نَخُوضُ nakhudu
مَعَ ma'a
ٱلۡخَاۤىِٕضِینَ  Alkhaaidina
٤٥
74:45 And we used to indulge in vain talk with the vain talkers,
وَكُنَّا wakunna
نُكَذِّبُ nukadhdhibu
بِیَوۡمِ biyawmi
ٱلدِّینِ  Addini
٤٦
74:46 And we used to deny (the) Day (of) the Judgment,
حَتَّىٰۤ hattaa
أَتَىٰنَا Ataana
ٱلۡیَقِینُ  Alyaqinu
٤٧
74:47 Until, came to us the certainty."
فَمَا fama
تَنفَعُهُمۡ tanfa'uhum
شَفَـٰعَةُ shafaa'ahu
ٱلشَّـٰفِعِینَ  Ashshaafi'ina
٤٨
74:48 Then not will benefit them intercession (of) the intercessors.
فَمَا fama
لَهُمۡ lahum
عَنِ 'ani
ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ Attadhkirahi
مُعۡرِضِینَ  mu'ridina
٤٩
74:49 Then what (is) for them, (that) from the Reminder they (are) turning away
كَأَنَّهُمۡ kaAnnahum
حُمُرࣱ humur
مُّسۡتَنفِرَةࣱ  mmustanfirah
٥٠
74:50 As if they (were) donkeys frightened,
فَرَّتۡ farrat
مِن min
قَسۡوَرَةِۭ  qaswarahi
٥١
74:51 Fleeing from a lion?
بَلۡ bal
یُرِیدُ yuridu
كُلُّ kullu
ٱمۡرِىࣲٕ Imria
مِّنۡهُمۡ mminhum
أَن An
یُؤۡتَىٰ yuutaa
صُحُفࣰا suhufa
مُّنَشَّرَةࣰ  mmunashsharah
٥٢
74:52 Nay! Desires every person of them that he may be given pages spread out.
كَلَّاۖ kalla
بَل bal
لَّا lla
یَخَافُونَ yakhafuna
ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَ  Al'akhiraha
٥٣
74:53 Nay! But not they fear the Hereafter.
كَلَّاۤ kallaa
إِنَّهُۥ Innahu
تَذۡكِرَةࣱ  tadhkirah
٥٤
74:54 Nay! Indeed, it (is) a Reminder.
فَمَن faman
شَاۤءَ shaa'a
ذَكَرَهُۥ  dhakarahu
٥٥
74:55 So whoever wills, (may) pay heed to it.
وَمَا wama
یَذۡكُرُونَ yadhkuruna
إِلَّاۤ Illaa
أَن An
یَشَاۤءَ yashaa'a
ٱللَّهُۚ Allahu
هُوَ huwa
أَهۡلُ Ahlu
ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ Attaqwaa
وَأَهۡلُ waAhlu
ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ  Almaghfirahi
٥٦
74:56 And not will pay heed except that wills Allah. He (is) worthy to be feared, and worthy to forgive.
