۞ عَبَسَ 'abasa
وَتَوَلَّىٰۤ  watawallaa
١
80:1 He frowned and turned away,
أَن An
جَاۤءَهُ jaa'ahu
ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ  AlA'maa
٢
80:2 Because came to him the blind man.
وَمَا wama
یُدۡرِیكَ yudrika
لَعَلَّهُۥ la'allahu
یَزَّكَّىٰۤ  yazzakkaa
٣
80:3 But what would make you know that he might purify himself,
أَوۡ Aw
یَذَّكَّرُ yadhdhakkaru
فَتَنفَعَهُ fatanfa'ahu
ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰۤ  Adhdhikraa
٤
80:4 Or be reminded so would benefit him the reminder?
أَمَّا Amma
مَنِ mani
ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ  Istaghnaa
٥
80:5 As for (him) who considers himself free from need,
فَأَنتَ faAnta
لَهُۥ lahu
تَصَدَّىٰ  tasaddaa
٦
80:6 So you to him give attention.
وَمَا wama
عَلَیۡكَ 'alayka
أَلَّا Alla
یَزَّكَّىٰ  yazzakkaa
٧
80:7 And not upon you that not he purifies himself.
وَأَمَّا waAmma
مَن man
جَاۤءَكَ jaa'aka
یَسۡعَىٰ  yas'aa
٨
80:8 But as for (he) who came to you striving,
وَهُوَ wahuwa
یَخۡشَىٰ  yakhshaa
٩
80:9 While he fears,
فَأَنتَ faAnta
عَنۡهُ 'anhu
تَلَهَّىٰ  talahhaa
١٠
80:10 But you from him (are) distracted.
كَلَّاۤ kallaa
إِنَّهَا Innaha
تَذۡكِرَةࣱ  tadhkirah
١١
80:11 Nay! Indeed, it (is) a reminder,
فَمَن faman
شَاۤءَ shaa'a
ذَكَرَهُۥ  dhakarahu
١٢
80:12 So whosoever wills may remember it.
فِی fi
صُحُفࣲ suhuf
مُّكَرَّمَةࣲ  mmukarramah
١٣
80:13 In sheets honored,
مَّرۡفُوعَةࣲ mmarfu'ah
مُّطَهَّرَةِۭ  mmutahharahi
١٤
80:14 Exalted, purified,
بِأَیۡدِی biAydi
سَفَرَةࣲ  safarah
١٥
80:15 In (the) hands (of) scribes.
كِرَامِۭ kirami
بَرَرَةࣲ  bararah
١٦
80:16 Noble, dutiful.
قُتِلَ qutila
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ AlInsaanu
مَاۤ maa
أَكۡفَرَهُۥ  Akfarahu
١٧
80:17 Is destroyed [the] man, how ungrateful is he!
مِنۡ min
أَیِّ Ayyi
شَیۡءٍ shay'in
خَلَقَهُۥ  khalaqahu
١٨
80:18 From what thing He created him?
مِن min
نُّطۡفَةٍ nnutfahin
خَلَقَهُۥ khalaqahu
فَقَدَّرَهُۥ  faqaddarahu
١٩
80:19 From a semen-drop He created him, then He proportioned him,
ثُمَّ thumma
ٱلسَّبِیلَ Assabila
یَسَّرَهُۥ  yassarahu
٢٠
80:20 Then the way, He made easy for him,
ثُمَّ thumma
أَمَاتَهُۥ Amatahu
فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ  faAqbarahu

80:21 Then He causes him to die and provides a grave for him,
ثُمَّ thumma
إِذَا Idha
شَاۤءَ shaa'a
أَنشَرَهُۥ  Ansharahu
٢٢
80:22 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.
كَلَّا kalla
لَمَّا lamma
یَقۡضِ yaqdi
مَاۤ maa
أَمَرَهُۥ  Amarahu
٢٣
80:23 Nay! Not he has accomplished what He commanded him.
فَلۡیَنظُرِ falyanzuri
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنُ AlInsaanu
إِلَىٰ Ilaa
طَعَامِهِۦۤ  ta'amihi
٢٤
80:24 Then let look the man at his food,
أَنَّا Anna
صَبَبۡنَا sababna
ٱلۡمَاۤءَ Almaa'a
صَبࣰّا  sabba
٢٥
80:25 That [We] [We] poured the water (in) abundance,
ثُمَّ thumma
شَقَقۡنَا shaqaqna
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ AlArda
شَقࣰّا  shaqqa
٢٦
80:26 Then We cleaved the earth splitting,
فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا faAnbatna
فِیهَا fiha
حَبࣰّا  habba
٢٧
80:27 Then We caused to grow therein grain,
وَعِنَبࣰا wa'inaba
وَقَضۡبࣰا  waqadba
٢٨
80:28 And grapes and green fodder,
وَزَیۡتُونࣰا wazaytuna
وَنَخۡلࣰا  wanakhla
٢٩
80:29 And olive and date-palms,
وَحَدَاۤىِٕقَ wahadaaiqa
غُلۡبࣰا  ghulba
٣٠
80:30 And gardens (of) thick foliage,
وَفَـٰكِهَةࣰ wafaakihah
وَأَبࣰّا  waAbba
٣١
80:31 And fruits and grass,
مَّتَـٰعࣰا mmataa'a
لَّكُمۡ llakum
وَلِأَنۡعَـٰمِكُمۡ  waliAn'aamikum
٣٢
80:32 (As) a provision for you and for your cattle.
فَإِذَا faIdha
جَاۤءَتِ jaa'ati
ٱلصَّاۤخَّةُ  Assaakhkhahu
٣٣
80:33 But when comes the Deafening Blast,
یَوۡمَ yawma
یَفِرُّ yafirru
ٱلۡمَرۡءُ Almar'u
مِنۡ min
أَخِیهِ  Akhihi
٣٤
80:34 (The) Day will flee a man from his brother,
وَأُمِّهِۦ waAummihi
وَأَبِیهِ  waAbihi
٣٥
80:35 And his mother and his father,
وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ wasaahibatihi
وَبَنِیهِ  wabanihi
٣٦
80:36 And his wife and his children,
لِكُلِّ likulli
ٱمۡرِىࣲٕ Imria
مِّنۡهُمۡ mminhum
یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ yawmaaidh
شَأۡنࣱ shaAn
یُغۡنِیهِ  yughnihi
٣٧
80:37 For every man among them that Day (will be) a matter occupying him.
وُجُوهࣱ wujuh
یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ yawmaaidh
مُّسۡفِرَةࣱ  mmusfirah
٣٨
80:38 Faces, that Day (will be) bright,
ضَاحِكَةࣱ dahikah
مُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةࣱ  mmustabshirah
٣٩
80:39 Laughing, rejoicing at good news.
وَوُجُوهࣱ wawujuh
یَوۡمَىِٕذٍ yawmaaidhin
عَلَیۡهَا 'alayha
غَبَرَةࣱ  ghabarah
٤٠
80:40 And faces, that Day, upon them (will be) dust,
تَرۡهَقُهَا tarhaquha
قَتَرَةٌ  qatarahun
٤١
80:41 Will cover them darkness.
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ Aulaaika
هُمُ humu
ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ Alkafarahu
ٱلۡفَجَرَةُ  Alfajarahu
٤٢
80:42 Those [they] (are) the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
