ٱلشَّمۡسُ Ashshamsu
كُوِّرَتۡ  kuwwirat
١
81:1 When the sun is wrapped up,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلنُّجُومُ Annujumu
ٱنكَدَرَتۡ  Inkadarat
٢
81:2 And when the stars fall, losing their luster
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡجِبَالُ Aljibalu
سُیِّرَتۡ  suyyirat
٣
81:3 And when the mountains are moved away,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡعِشَارُ Al'isharu
عُطِّلَتۡ  'uttilat
٤
81:4 And when the full-term she-camels (are) left untended;
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡوُحُوشُ Alwuhushu
حُشِرَتۡ  hushirat
٥
81:5 And when the wild beasts are gathered,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡبِحَارُ Albiharu
سُجِّرَتۡ  sujjirat
٦
81:6 And when the seas are made to overflow,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلنُّفُوسُ Annufusu
زُوِّجَتۡ  zuwwijat
٧
81:7 And when the souls are paired,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ Almaw'udahu
سُىِٕلَتۡ  suailat
٨
81:8 And when the female infant buried alive is asked
بِأَیِّ biAyyi
ذَنۢبࣲ dhanb
قُتِلَتۡ  qutilat
٩
81:9 For what sin she was killed.
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلصُّحُفُ Assuhufu
نُشِرَتۡ  nushirat
١٠
81:10 And when the pages are laid open,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ Assamaa'u
كُشِطَتۡ  kushitat
١١
81:11 And when the sky is stripped away,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡجَحِیمُ Aljahimu
سُعِّرَتۡ  su''irat
١٢
81:12 And when the Hellfire is set ablaze,
وَإِذَا waIdha
ٱلۡجَنَّةُ Aljannahu
أُزۡلِفَتۡ  Auzlifat
١٣
81:13 And when Paradise is brought near,
عَلِمَتۡ 'alimat
نَفۡسࣱ nafs
مَّاۤ mmaa
أَحۡضَرَتۡ  Ahdarat
١٤
81:14 Will know a soul what it has brought.
فَلَاۤ falaa
أُقۡسِمُ Auqsimu
بِٱلۡخُنَّسِ  biAlkhunnasi
١٥
81:15 But nay! I swear by the retreating planets,
ٱلۡجَوَارِ Aljawari
ٱلۡكُنَّسِ  Alkunnasi
١٦
81:16 Those that run (and) disappear,
وَٱلَّیۡلِ waAllayli
إِذَا Idha
عَسۡعَسَ  'as'asa
١٧
81:17 And the night when it departs,
وَٱلصُّبۡحِ waAssubhi
إِذَا Idha
تَنَفَّسَ  tanaffasa
١٨
81:18 And the dawn when it breathes
إِنَّهُۥ Innahu
لَقَوۡلُ laqawlu
رَسُولࣲ rasul
كَرِیمࣲ  karim
١٩
81:19 Indeed, it (is) surely a word (of) a Messenger noble,
ذِی dhi
قُوَّةٍ quwwahin
عِندَ 'inda
ذِی dhi
ٱلۡعَرۡشِ Al'arshi
مَكِینࣲ  makin
٢٠
81:20 Possessor of power, with (the) Owner of the Throne secure,
مُّطَاعࣲ mmuta'
ثَمَّ thamma
أَمِینࣲ  Amin
٢١
81:21 One to be obeyed and trustworthy,
وَمَا wama
صَاحِبُكُم sahibukum
بِمَجۡنُونࣲ  bimajnun
٢٢
81:22 And not (is) your companion mad.
وَلَقَدۡ walaqad
رَءَاهُ ra'ahu
بِٱلۡأُفُقِ biAlAufuqi
ٱلۡمُبِینِ  Almubini
٢٣
81:23 And certainly he saw him in the horizon the clear.
وَمَا wama
هُوَ huwa
عَلَى 'alaa
ٱلۡغَیۡبِ Alghaybi
بِضَنِینࣲ  bidanin
٢٤
81:24 And not he (is) on the unseen a withholder.
وَمَا wama
هُوَ huwa
بِقَوۡلِ biqawli
شَیۡطَـٰنࣲ shaytaan
رَّجِیمࣲ  rrajim
٢٥
81:25 And not it (is the) word (of) Shaitaan accursed.
فَأَیۡنَ faAyna
تَذۡهَبُونَ  tadhhabuna
٢٦
81:26 So where are you going?
إِنۡ In
هُوَ huwa
إِلَّا Illa
ذِكۡرࣱ dhikr
لِّلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ  llil'aalamina
٢٧
81:27 Not it (is) except a reminder to the worlds,
لِمَن liman
شَاۤءَ shaa'a
مِنكُمۡ minkum
أَن An
یَسۡتَقِیمَ  yastaqima
٢٨
81:28 For whoever wills among you to take a straight way.
وَمَا wama
تَشَاۤءُونَ tashaa'una
إِلَّاۤ Illaa
أَن An
یَشَاۤءَ yashaa'a
ٱللَّهُ Allahu
رَبُّ rabbu
ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ  Al'aalamina
٢٩
81:29 And not you will except that wills Allah, Lord (of) the worlds.
