Surah Ash-Shams • Quran 91

Add Transliteration
وَٱلشَّمۡسِ
وَضُحَىٰهَا
١
91:1
By the sun and its brightness,
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ
إِذَا
تَلَىٰهَا
٢
91:2
And the moon when it follows it,
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
إِذَا
جَلَّىٰهَا
٣
91:3
And the day when it displays it,
وَٱلَّیۡلِ
إِذَا
یَغۡشَىٰهَا
٤
91:4
And the night when it covers it,
وَٱلسَّمَاۤءِ
وَمَا
بَنَىٰهَا
٥
91:5
And the heaven and (He) Who constructed it,
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَمَا
طَحَىٰهَا
٦
91:6
And the earth and (He) Who spread it,
وَنَفۡسࣲ
وَمَا
سَوَّىٰهَا
٧
91:7
And (the) soul and (He) Who proportioned it,
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا
فُجُورَهَا
وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا
٨
91:8
And He inspired it (to distinguish) its wickedness and its righteousness
قَدۡ
أَفۡلَحَ
مَن
زَكَّىٰهَا
٩
91:9
Indeed, he succeeds who purifies it,
وَقَدۡ
خَابَ
مَن
دَسَّىٰهَا
١٠
91:10
And indeed, he fails who buries it.
كَذَّبَتۡ
ثَمُودُ
بِطَغۡوَىٰهَاۤ
١١
91:11
Denied Thamud by their transgression,
إِذِ
ٱنۢبَعَثَ
أَشۡقَىٰهَا
١٢
91:12
When (was) sent forth (the) most wicked of them.
فَقَالَ
لَهُمۡ
رَسُولُ
ٱللَّهِ
نَاقَةَ
ٱللَّهِ
وَسُقۡیَـٰهَا
١٣
91:13
But said to them (the) Messenger (of) Allah, "(It is the) she-camel (of) Allah and her drink."
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
فَعَقَرُوهَا
فَدَمۡدَمَ
عَلَیۡهِمۡ
رَبُّهُم
بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ
فَسَوَّىٰهَا
١٤
91:14
But they denied him, and they hamstrung her. So destroyed them their Lord for their sin and leveled them.
وَلَا
یَخَافُ
عُقۡبَـٰهَا
١٥
91:15
And not He fears its consequences.
