Surah Al-Ma'aarij • Quran 70

سَأَلَ
سَاۤىِٕلُۢ
بِعَذَابࣲ
وَاقِعࣲ
١
70:1
Asked a questioner about a punishment bound to happen
لِّلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ
لَیۡسَ
لَهُۥ
دَافِعࣱ
٢
70:2
To the disbelievers, not of it any preventer.
مِّنَ
ٱللَّهِ
ذِی
ٱلۡمَعَارِجِ
٣
70:3
From Allah, Owner (of) the ways of ascent.
تَعۡرُجُ
ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ
وَٱلرُّوحُ
إِلَیۡهِ
فِی
یَوۡمࣲ
كَانَ
مِقۡدَارُهُۥ
خَمۡسِینَ
أَلۡفَ
سَنَةࣲ
٤
70:4
Ascend the Angels and the Spirit to Him in a Day, [is] its measure (is) fifty thousand year(s).
فَٱصۡبِرۡ
صَبۡرࣰا
جَمِیلًا
٥
70:5
So be patient, a patience good.
إِنَّهُمۡ
یَرَوۡنَهُۥ
بَعِیدࣰا
٦
70:6
Indeed, they see it (as) far off.
وَنَرَىٰهُ
قَرِیبࣰا
٧
70:7
But We see it near.
یَوۡمَ
تَكُونُ
ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ
٨
70:8
(The) Day - will be the sky like molten copper,
وَتَكُونُ
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ
٩
70:9
And will be the mountains like wool,
وَلَا
یَسۡءَلُ
حَمِیمٌ
حَمِیمࣰا
١٠
70:10
And not will ask a friend (about) a friend.
یُبَصَّرُونَهُمۡۚ
یَوَدُّ
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُ
لَوۡ
یَفۡتَدِی
مِنۡ
عَذَابِ
یَوۡمِىِٕذِۭ
بِبَنِیهِ
١١
70:11
They will be made to see each other. Would wish the criminal if he (could be) ransomed from (the) punishment (of) that Day by his children,
وَصَـٰحِبَتِهِۦ
وَأَخِیهِ
١٢
70:12
And his spouse and his brother,
وَفَصِیلَتِهِ
ٱلَّتِی
تُءۡوِیهِ
١٣
70:13
And his nearest kindred who sheltered him,
وَمَن
فِی
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
جَمِیعࣰا
ثُمَّ
یُنجِیهِ
١٤
70:14
And whoever (is) on the earth all, then it (could) save him.
كَلَّاۤۖ
إِنَّهَا
لَظَىٰ
١٥
70:15
By no means! Indeed, it (is) surely a Flame of Hell,
نَزَّاعَةࣰ
لِّلشَّوَىٰ
١٦
70:16
A remover of the skin of the head,
تَدۡعُوا۟
مَنۡ
أَدۡبَرَ
وَتَوَلَّىٰ
١٧
70:17
Inviting (him) who turned his back and went away
وَجَمَعَ
فَأَوۡعَىٰۤ
١٨
70:18
And collected and hoarded.
۞ إِنَّ
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ
خُلِقَ
هَلُوعًا
١٩
70:19
Indeed, the man was created anxious -
إِذَا
مَسَّهُ
ٱلشَّرُّ
جَزُوعࣰا
٢٠
70:20
When touches him the evil, distressed.
وَإِذَا
مَسَّهُ
ٱلۡخَیۡرُ
مَنُوعًا
٢١
70:21
And when touches him the good, withholding,
إِلَّا
ٱلۡمُصَلِّینَ
٢٢
70:22
Except those who pray -
ٱلَّذِینَ
هُمۡ
عَلَىٰ
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
دَاۤىِٕمُونَ
٢٣
70:23
Those who [they] at their prayer (are) constant,
وَٱلَّذِینَ
فِیۤ
أَمۡوَ ٰلِهِمۡ
حَقࣱّ
مَّعۡلُومࣱ
٢٤
70:24
And those who in their wealth (is) a right known,
لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِ
وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
٢٥
70:25
For the one who asks and the deprived,
وَٱلَّذِینَ
یُصَدِّقُونَ
بِیَوۡمِ
ٱلدِّینِ
٢٦
70:26
And those who accept (the) truth (of the) Day (of) the Judgment,
وَٱلَّذِینَ
هُم
مِّنۡ
عَذَابِ
رَبِّهِم
مُّشۡفِقُونَ
٢٧
70:27
And those who [they] of (the) punishment (of) their Lord (are) fearful -
إِنَّ
عَذَابَ
رَبِّهِمۡ
غَیۡرُ
مَأۡمُونࣲ
٢٨
70:28
Indeed, (the) punishment (of) your Lord (is) not to be felt secure (of) -
وَٱلَّذِینَ
هُمۡ
لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ
حَـٰفِظُونَ
٢٩
70:29
And those who [they] their modesty (are) guardians,
إِلَّا
عَلَىٰۤ
أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ
أَوۡ
مَا
مَلَكَتۡ
أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
غَیۡرُ
مَلُومِینَ
٣٠
70:30
Except from their spouses or what they possess rightfully then indeed, they (are) not blameworthy,
فَمَنِ
ٱبۡتَغَىٰ
وَرَاۤءَ
ذَ ٰلِكَ
فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ
هُمُ
ٱلۡعَادُونَ
٣١
70:31
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those [they] (are) the transgressors -
وَٱلَّذِینَ
هُمۡ
لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمۡ
وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ
رَ ٰعُونَ
٣٢
70:32
And those who [they] of their trusts and their promise (are) observers,
وَٱلَّذِینَ
هُم
بِشَهَـٰدَ ٰتِهِمۡ
قَاۤىِٕمُونَ
٣٣
70:33
And those who [they] in their testimonies stand firm,
وَٱلَّذِینَ
هُمۡ
عَلَىٰ
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
یُحَافِظُونَ
٣٤
70:34
And those who, [they] on their prayer keep a guard -
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ
فِی
جَنَّـٰتࣲ
مُّكۡرَمُونَ
٣٥
70:35
Those (will be) in Gardens, honored.
فَمَالِ
ٱلَّذِینَ
كَفَرُوا۟
قِبَلَكَ
مُهۡطِعِینَ
٣٦
70:36
So what is with those who disbelieve, before you (they) hasten,
عَنِ
ٱلۡیَمِینِ
وَعَنِ
ٱلشِّمَالِ
عِزِینَ
٣٧
70:37
On the right and on the left, (in) separate groups?
أَیَطۡمَعُ
كُلُّ
ٱمۡرِىࣲٕ
مِّنۡهُمۡ
أَن
یُدۡخَلَ
جَنَّةَ
نَعِیمࣲ
٣٨
70:38
Does long every person, among them that he enters a Garden (of) Delight?
كَلَّاۤۖ
إِنَّا
خَلَقۡنَـٰهُم
مِّمَّا
یَعۡلَمُونَ
٣٩
70:39
By no means! Indeed, We [We] have created them from what they know.
فَلَاۤ
أُقۡسِمُ
بِرَبِّ
ٱلۡمَشَـٰرِقِ
وَٱلۡمَغَـٰرِبِ
إِنَّا
لَقَـٰدِرُونَ
٤٠
70:40
But nay! I swear by (the) Lord (of) the risings and the settings, that We (are) surely Able
عَلَىٰۤ
أَن
نُّبَدِّلَ
خَیۡرࣰا
مِّنۡهُمۡ
وَمَا
نَحۡنُ
بِمَسۡبُوقِینَ
٤١
70:41
[On] to [We] replace (with) better than them; and not We (are) to be outrun.
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
یَخُوضُوا۟
وَیَلۡعَبُوا۟
حَتَّىٰ
یُلَـٰقُوا۟
یَوۡمَهُمُ
ٱلَّذِی
یُوعَدُونَ
٤٢
70:42
So leave them (to) converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day, which they are promised,
یَوۡمَ
یَخۡرُجُونَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ
سِرَاعࣰا
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
إِلَىٰ
نُصُبࣲ
یُوفِضُونَ
٤٣
70:43
(The) Day they will come out from the graves rapidly as if they (were) to a goal hastening,
خَـٰشِعَةً
أَبۡصَـٰرُهُمۡ
تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ
ذِلَّةࣱۚ
ذَ ٰلِكَ
ٱلۡیَوۡمُ
ٱلَّذِی
كَانُوا۟
یُوعَدُونَ
٤٤
70:44
Humbled their eyesights, will cover them humiliation. That (is) the Day which they were promised.
