Surah Al-Balad • Quran 90

۞ لَاۤ
أُقۡسِمُ
بِهَـٰذَا
ٱلۡبَلَدِ
١
90:1
Nay! I swear by this city,
وَأَنتَ
حِلُّۢ
بِهَـٰذَا
ٱلۡبَلَدِ
٢
90:2
And you (are) free (to dwell) in this city.
وَوَالِدࣲ
وَمَا
وَلَدَ
٣
90:3
And the begetter and what he begot.
لَقَدۡ
خَلَقۡنَا
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ
فِی
كَبَدٍ
٤
90:4
Certainly, We have created man (to be) in hardship.
أَیَحۡسَبُ
أَن
لَّن
یَقۡدِرَ
عَلَیۡهِ
أَحَدࣱ
٥
90:5
Does he think that not has power over him anyone?
یَقُولُ
أَهۡلَكۡتُ
مَالࣰا
لُّبَدًا
٦
90:6
He will say, "I have squandered wealth abundant."
أَیَحۡسَبُ
أَن
لَّمۡ
یَرَهُۥۤ
أَحَدٌ
٧
90:7
Does he think that not sees him anyone?
أَلَمۡ
نَجۡعَل
لَّهُۥ
عَیۡنَیۡنِ
٨
90:8
Have not We made for him two eyes?
وَلِسَانࣰا
وَشَفَتَیۡنِ
٩
90:9
And a tongue, and two lips?
وَهَدَیۡنَـٰهُ
ٱلنَّجۡدَیۡنِ
١٠
90:10
And shown him the two ways?
فَلَا
ٱقۡتَحَمَ
ٱلۡعَقَبَةَ
١١
90:11
But not he has attempted the steep path.
وَمَاۤ
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
مَا
ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ
١٢
90:12
And what can make you know what the steep path (is)?
فَكُّ
رَقَبَةٍ
١٣
90:13
(It is) freeing a neck,
أَوۡ
إِطۡعَـٰمࣱ
فِی
یَوۡمࣲ
ذِی
مَسۡغَبَةࣲ
١٤
90:14
Or feeding in a day of severe hunger.
یَتِیمࣰا
ذَا
مَقۡرَبَةٍ
١٥
90:15
An orphan of near relationship,
أَوۡ
مِسۡكِینࣰا
ذَا
مَتۡرَبَةࣲ
١٦
90:16
Or a needy person in misery,
ثُمَّ
كَانَ
مِنَ
ٱلَّذِینَ
ءَامَنُوا۟
وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟
بِٱلصَّبۡرِ
وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟
بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ
١٧
90:17
Then he is of those who believe and enjoin (each other) to patience, and enjoin (each other) to compassion.
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
ٱلۡمَیۡمَنَةِ
١٨
90:18
Those (are the) companions (of) the right (hand)
وَٱلَّذِینَ
كَفَرُوا۟
بِءَایَـٰتِنَا
هُمۡ
أَصۡحَـٰبُ
ٱلۡمَشۡءَمَةِ
١٩
90:19
But those who disbelieve in Our Verses, they (are the) companions (of) the left (hand).
عَلَیۡهِمۡ
نَارࣱ
مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ
٢٠
90:20
Over them, (will be the) Fire closed in.
