۞ لَاۤ laa
أُقۡسِمُ Auqsimu
بِهَـٰذَا bihaadha
ٱلۡبَلَدِ  Albaladi
١
90:1 Nay! I swear by this city,
وَأَنتَ waAnta
حِلُّۢ hillu
بِهَـٰذَا bihaadha
ٱلۡبَلَدِ  Albaladi
٢
90:2 And you (are) free (to dwell) in this city.
وَوَالِدࣲ wawalid
وَمَا wama
وَلَدَ  walada
٣
90:3 And the begetter and what he begot.
لَقَدۡ laqad
خَلَقۡنَا khalaqna
ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ AlInsaana
فِی fi
كَبَدٍ  kabadin
٤
90:4 Certainly, We have created man (to be) in hardship.
أَیَحۡسَبُ Ayahsabu
أَن An
لَّن llan
یَقۡدِرَ yaqdira
عَلَیۡهِ 'alayhi
أَحَدࣱ  Ahad
٥
90:5 Does he think that not has power over him anyone?
یَقُولُ yaqulu
أَهۡلَكۡتُ Ahlaktu
مَالࣰا mala
لُّبَدًا  llubadana
٦
90:6 He will say, "I have squandered wealth abundant."
أَیَحۡسَبُ Ayahsabu
أَن An
لَّمۡ llam
یَرَهُۥۤ yarahu
أَحَدٌ  Ahadun
٧
90:7 Does he think that not sees him anyone?
أَلَمۡ Alam
نَجۡعَل naj'al
لَّهُۥ llahu
عَیۡنَیۡنِ  'aynayni
٨
90:8 Have not We made for him two eyes?
وَلِسَانࣰا walisana
وَشَفَتَیۡنِ  washafatayni
٩
90:9 And a tongue, and two lips?
وَهَدَیۡنَـٰهُ wahadaynaahu
ٱلنَّجۡدَیۡنِ  Annajdayni
١٠
90:10 And shown him the two ways?
فَلَا fala
ٱقۡتَحَمَ Iqtahama
ٱلۡعَقَبَةَ  Al'aqabaha
١١
90:11 But not he has attempted the steep path.
وَمَاۤ wamaa
أَدۡرَىٰكَ Adraaka
مَا ma
ٱلۡعَقَبَةُ  Al'aqabahu
١٢
90:12 And what can make you know what the steep path (is)?
فَكُّ fakku
رَقَبَةٍ  raqabahin
١٣
90:13 (It is) freeing a neck,
أَوۡ Aw
إِطۡعَـٰمࣱ It'aam
فِی fi
یَوۡمࣲ yawm
ذِی dhi
مَسۡغَبَةࣲ  masghabah
١٤
90:14 Or feeding in a day of severe hunger.
یَتِیمࣰا yatima
ذَا dha
مَقۡرَبَةٍ  maqrabahin
١٥
90:15 An orphan of near relationship,
أَوۡ Aw
مِسۡكِینࣰا miskina
ذَا dha
مَتۡرَبَةࣲ  matrabah
١٦
90:16 Or a needy person in misery,
ثُمَّ thumma
كَانَ kana
مِنَ mina
ٱلَّذِینَ Alladhina
ءَامَنُوا۟ 'amanua
وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟ watawasawa
بِٱلصَّبۡرِ biAssabri
وَتَوَاصَوۡا۟ watawasawa
بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ  biAlmarhamahi

90:17 Then he is of those who believe and enjoin (each other) to patience, and enjoin (each other) to compassion.
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ Aulaaika
أَصۡحَـٰبُ Ashaabu
ٱلۡمَیۡمَنَةِ  Almaymanahi
١٨
90:18 Those (are the) companions (of) the right (hand)
وَٱلَّذِینَ waAlladhina
كَفَرُوا۟ kafarua
بِءَایَـٰتِنَا bi'ayaatina
هُمۡ hum
أَصۡحَـٰبُ Ashaabu
ٱلۡمَشۡءَمَةِ  Almash'amahi
١٩
90:19 But those who disbelieve in Our Verses, they (are the) companions (of) the left (hand).
عَلَیۡهِمۡ 'alayhim
نَارࣱ nar
مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ  mmuusadahu
٢٠
90:20 Over them, (will be the) Fire closed in.
