Good news and a warning. But most of them turn away, so they hear not

as a bringer of glad tidings, and as a warner. But most of them have turned away, such that they hear not

bearing good tidings, and denouncing threats: But the greater part of them turn aside, and hearken not thereto

Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth)

It is a bearer of good tidings and a warner, yet most of these (people) turn away (from it) because they do not (even) give (it) ear

Qur’an informs you of the good news [for the believers] and also warns [the wrongdoers]; what a pity that most people care less

It contains glad tidings (of how to attain eternal salvation), and sufficient warning (about how to avoid Hellfire). Yet most of them walk away, and so they do not hear.

It contains joyful news (of how to attain eternal salvation) and sufficient warning (about how to avoid ‘Hellfire’). But most of them pay not heed to it, so they listen not.

to be a herald of glad tidings as well as a warning. And yet, [whenever this divine writ is offered to men,] most of them turn away, so that they cannot hear [its message]

(Being sent) as a bearer of glad tidings (of the recompense for faith and righteousness), and a warner (against the consequences of misguidance). Yet most of them (the Makkan people) turn away, and they do not give ear to it (being inwardly averse, and deaf to its excellence)

Bashir (‘the transmitter of glad tidings’. This is used as an attribute for the Divine Scripture), and Nazeer (‘Warner’. This also is an attribute for Allah’s Book); but most of them have remained unconcerned (of this Book), so they do not listen

Giving glad tidings (of Paradise to the one who believes in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) and fears Allah much (abstains from all kinds of sins and evil deeds) and loves Allah much (performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)), and warning (of punishment in the Hell Fire to the one who disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah), but most of them turn away, so they listen not
