"O Messenger of Allah, I do not become pure, so should I stop praying?" He said: "No, that is a vein." Khalid said, in what I read from him, "And it is not menstruation, so when your period comes, stop praying, and when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray."
Meaning, before Hisham, from whom he narrates it.
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 1, Hadith 220
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Abu Ubayd,
the mawla of Ibn Azhar said, "I was present at an id with Umar ibn al-
Khattab. He prayed, and then after he had prayed he gave a khutba to
the people and said, 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, forbade fasting on these two days - the day you break
your fast (after Ramadan), and the day you eat from your sacrifice
(after Hajj) .' "
Abu Ubaydcontinued,"Then I was present at
an id with Uthman ibn Affan. He came and prayed, and when he had
finished he gave a khutba and said, 'Two ids have been joined together
for you on this day of yours. If any of the people of al-Aliyya (the
hills outlying Madina) want to wait for the jumua they can do so, and
if any of them want to return, I have given them permission.' Abu
Ubayd continued, "Then I was present at an id with AIi ibn Abi Talib
(at the time when Uthman was being detained). He came and prayed, and
then after he had prayed he gave a khutba."
Muwatta Malik Book 10, Hadith 5
from his father, from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever performs a Salat in which he does not recite Umm Al-Quran in it, then it is aborted, it is aborted, not complete." He Said: "I said: 'O Abu Hurairah! Sometimes I am behind an Imam.' He said: 'O Ibn Al-Farisi! Then recite it to yourself. For indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: Allah, the Most High said: "I have divided the Salat between Myself and My slaves into two halves. Half of it is for Me, and half of it for My slave, and My slave shall have what he asks for. My slave stands and says: All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of All that exists." So Allah, Blessed is He and Most High says: "My slave has expressed his gratitude to Me." He says: "The Merciful, the Beneficent. So he says: "My slave has praised Me." He says: Owner of the Day of Reckoning. He says: "My slave has glorified Me. And this is for Me, and between Me and My slave is: It is You alone whom we worship and it is You alone from whom we seek aid" until the end of the Surah "This is for My slave and My slave shall have what he asks for." So he says: Guide us to the straight path. The path of those upon whom You have bestowed your favor, not those with whom is Your wrath, now those who are astray."'
This Hadith is Hasan.
(Other chains of narrations)
(Another chain) from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: "Whoever performs a Salat in
which he does not recite Umm AlQuran in it, then it is aborted, then it is aborted, not complete."
And in Ismã'il bin Abi Uwais' Hadith there is no more than this. I asked Abu Zur'ah about this Hadith, he said: "Both of the
Hadith are Sahih." And he argued
this with the narrations of Ibn Abi Uwais from his father from Al-'Ala.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 47, Hadith 4
Yahya related to us from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Humayd ibn
Abd ar-Rah man ibn Awf and from Muhammad ibn an-Numan ibn Bashir that
they related to him that an-Numan ibn Bashir said that his father
Bashir brought him to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, and said, "I have given this son of mine one of my
slaves." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, said, "Have you given each of your children the same as this?"
He said, "No." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant
him peace, said, "Then take the slave back."
