the Prophet (saas) said to a man: "When you go to lay down, or go to your bed, say: Allahumma aslamtu wajhi ilayka, wa al-ja'tu zahri ilayka, wa fawwadtu amri ilayka, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayka, la malja'a wa la manja'a minka illa ilayka, amantu bi kitabikal-ladhi anzalta, wa nabiyyikal arsalta [O Allah, I have submitted my face (i.e., myself) to You, and I am under Your command (i.e., I depend upon You in all my affairs), and I put my trust in You, hoping for Your reward and fearing Your punishment. There is no fleeing from You and no refuge from You except with You. I believe in Your Book that You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent).' Then if you die that night, you will die in a state of the Fitrah (nature), and if you wake in the morning you will wake with a great deal of good."
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 34, Hadith 50
The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by her while she was in the masjid, supplicating, then he passed by her again when it was almost midday. He said to her: "Are you still here?" She said: "Yes." He said: "Shall I not teach you some words which you can say? Subhan Allah adada khalqihi, subhan Allah adada khalqihi, subhan Allah adada khalqihi; subhan Allah rida nafsihi, subhan Allah rida nafsihi, subhan Allah rida nafsihi; Subhan Allah zinata 'arshihi, Subhan Allah zinata 'arshihi, Subhan Allah zinata 'arshihi; Subhan Allah midada Kalamatihi, Subhan Allah midada Kalamatihi, Subhan Allah midada Kalamatihi (Glory be to Allah the number of His creation, glory be to Allah the number of His creation, glory be to Allah the number of His creation; glory be to Allah as much as pleases Him, glory be to Allah as much as pleases Him, glory be to Allah as much as pleases Him; glory be to Allah the weight of His throne, glory be to Allah the weight of His throne, glory be to Allah the weight of His throne; glory be to Allah the number of His words, glory be to Allah the number of His words, glory be to Allah the number of His words).'
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 13, Hadith 174
There was a disagreement between them (i.e. Ibn `Abbas and Ibn Az-Zubair) so I went to Ibn `Abbas
in the morning and said (to him), "Do you want to fight against Ibn Zubair and thus make lawful what
Allah has made unlawful (i.e. fighting in Meccas?" Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah forbid! Allah ordained
that Ibn Zubair and Bani Umaiya would permit (fighting in Mecca), but by Allah, I will never regard it
as permissible." Ibn `Abbas added. "The people asked me to take the oath of allegiance to Ibn
AzZubair. I said, 'He is really entitled to assume authority for his father, Az-Zubair was the helper of
the Prophet, his (maternal) grandfather, Abu Bakr was (the Prophet's) companion in the cave, his
mother, Asma' was 'Dhatun-Nitaq', his aunt, `Aisha was the mother of the Believers, his paternal aunt,
Khadija was the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) , and the paternal aunt of the Prophet (ﷺ) was his grandmother. He
himself is pious and chaste in Islam, well versed in the Knowledge of the Qur'an. By Allah! (Really, I
left my relatives, Bani Umaiya for his sake though) they are my close relatives, and if they should be
my rulers, they are equally apt to be so and are descended from a noble family.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 187
"A man among the people of Egypt performed Hajj to the House, and saw a group sitting, so he said: 'Who are these?' They said: 'The Quraish.' He said: 'So who is this old man?' They said: 'Ibn 'Umar.' So he went to him and said: 'I will ask you about something, so inform me. I ask you by Allah! By the sanctity of this House! Do you know that 'Uthman fled on the Day of (the battle of) Uhud?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you know that he was absent from the Pledge of Ar-Ridwan, that he did not witness it?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you know that he was absent on the Day of (the battle of) Badr and did not participate in it?' He said: 'Yes.' So he said: 'Allah is Great' So Ibn 'Umar said to him: 'Come, so I can clarify to you what you have asked about. As for his fleeing on the Day of (the battle of) Uhud, then I bear witness that Allah has pardoned him and forgiven him. As for his being absent on the Day of (the battle of) Badr, then he was married to the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: "You have the reward of a man who participated in (the battle of) Badr, and his share (spoils of war)." , and the Pledge of Ar-Ridwan was after 'Uthman had departed for Makkah." He said: "So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said with his right hand: "This is the hand of 'Uthman," and he put it upon his own hand, and said: "This is for 'Uthman."' He said to him: "Go now, and take this (clarification) with you."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 49, Hadith 102
"The Messenger of Allah invaded Khaibar and we prayed Al-Ghadah (Fajr) there (early in the morning) when it was still dark. Then the Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode, and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The Prophet of Allah passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly, and my knee was touching the thigh of the Messenger of Allah, and I could see the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town he said: 'Allahu Akbar, Khaibar is destroyed! Whenever we approach a (hostile) nation to fight, evil will be the morning for those who have been warned.' He said this three times. The people came out for their work." (One of the narrators) 'Abdul-'Aziz said: "They said: 'Muhammad (has come)!'" 'Abdul-'Aziz said: "Some of our companions said: 'With his army.'"
"We conquered Khaibar and gathered the captives. Dihyah came and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, give me a slave girl from among the captives.' He said: 'Go and take a slave girl.' He took Safiyyah bint Huyayy. Then a man came to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you gave Dihyah Safiyyah bint Huyayy, and she is the chief mistress of Quraizah and An-Nadir, and she is fit for no one but you.' He said: 'Call him to bring her.' When the Prophet saw her, he said: 'Take any other slave girl from among the captives.'" He said: "The Prophet of Allah set her free and married her." (One of the narrators) Thabit said to him: "O Abu Hamzah, what dowry did he give her?" He (Anas) said: "Herself; he set her free and married her." He said: "While on the road, Umm Sulaim fitted her out and presented her to him in the night, and the following morning he was a bridegroom. He said: 'Whoever has anything, let him bring it.' He spread out a leather cloth and men came with cottage cheese, dates, and ghee, and they made Hais, and that was the Walimah (wedding feast) of the Messenger of Allah."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 26, Hadith 185
The Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned a man from the people of the past or those who preceded you. The Prophet (ﷺ)
said a sentence meaning: Allah had given him wealth and children. When his death approached, he
said to his sons, "What kind of father have I been to you?" They replied, "You have been a good
father." He told them that he had not presented any good deed before Allah, and if Allah should get
hold of him He would punish him.' "So look!" he added, "When I die, burn me, and when I turn into
coal, crush me, and when there comes a windy day, scatter my ashes in the wind." The Prophet (ﷺ)
added, "Then by Allah, he took a firm promise from his children to do so, and they did so. (They burnt
him after his death) and threw his ashes on a windy day. Then Allah commanded to his ashes. "Be,"
and behold! He became a man standing! Allah said, "O My slave! What made you do what you did?"
He replied, "For fear of You." Nothing saved him then but Allah's Mercy (So Allah forgave him).
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 133
“While we were sitting in the mosque, a man
entered
riding a camel; he made it kneel in the mosque, then he
hobbled it
and said to them: ‘Which of you is Muhammad?’ The Messenger
of
Allah (ﷺ) was reclining among them, so they said: ‘This
fair-
skinned man who is reclining.’ The man said to him: ‘O son
of ‘Abdul-
Muttalib!’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘I am listening to
you.’ The man
said: O Muhammad! I am asking you and will be stern
in asking, so do
not bear any ill-feelings towards me.’ He said:
‘Ask whatever you
think.’ The man said: ‘I adjure you by your
Lord and the Lord of those
who came before you, has Allah sent you to
all of mankind?’ The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah,
yes.; He said: ‘I adjure you
by Allah, has Allah commanded you to
pray the five prayers each day
and night?’ The Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ He
said: ‘I adjure you by Allah,
has Allah commanded you to fast this
month of each year?’ The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah,
yes.’ He said: ‘I
adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to take
this charity
from our rich and distribute it among our poor?’ The
Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ The man said: ‘I
believe in
what you have brought, and I am the envoy of my people who
are behind
me. I am Dimam bin Tha’labah, the brother of Banu Sa’d bin
Bakr.’”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 5, Hadith 600
There was an eclipse of the sun in the time of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet stood for a long time, accompanied by the people. He then bowed, then raised his head, then he bowed and then he raised his head, and again he bowed and prayed two rak'ahs of prayer. In each rak'ah he bowed three times. After bowing for the third time he prostrated himself. He stood for such a long time that some people became unconscious on that occasion and buckets of water had to be poured on them. When he bowed, he said, Allah is most great; and when he raised his head, he said, Allah listens to him who praises Him, till the sun became bright. then he said: The sun and the moon are not eclipsed on account of anyone's death or on account of anyone's birth, but they are two of Allah's signs, He produces dread in His servants by means of them. When they are eclipsed, hasten to prayer
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 3, Hadith 17
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) slept near me one day,
then he woke up smiling. I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what has
made
you smile?’ He said: ‘People of my nation who were shown to
me (in my
dream) riding across this sea like kings on thrones.’ I
said:
‘Supplicate to Allah to make me one of them.’” So he
prayed for her.
Then he slept again, and did likewise, and she said
the same as she
said before, and he replied in the same manner. She
said: “Pray to
Allah to make me one of them,” and he said: “You
will be one of the
first ones.” He said: “Then she went out with
her husband, ‘Ubadah bin
Samit, as a fighter, the first time that
the Muslims crossed the sea
with Mu’awiyah bin Abu Sufyan. On their
way back, after they had
finished fighting, they stopped in Sham. An
animal was brought near
for her to ride it, but it threw her off, and
she died.”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 24, Hadith 24
During the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), the sun eclipsed. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) offered the prayer of (the)
eclipse) and so did the people along with him. He performed a long Qiyam (standing posture) during
which Surat-al-Baqara could have been recited; then he performed a pro-longed bowing, then raised
his head and stood for a long time which was slightly less than that of the first Qiyam (and recited
Qur'an). Then he performed a prolonged bowing again but the period was shorter than the period of
the first bowing, then he stood up and then prostrated. Again he stood up, but this time the period of
standing was less than the first standing. Then he performed a prolonged bowing but of a lesser
duration than the first, then he stood up again for a long time but for a lesser duration than the first.
Then he performed a prolonged bowing but of lesser duration than the first, and then he again stood
up, and then prostrated and then finished his prayer. By then the sun eclipse had cleared.
The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, and they do not
eclipse because of the death or birth of someone, so when you observe the eclipse, remember Allah
(offer the eclipse prayer)." They (the people) said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We saw you stretching your
hand to take something at this place of yours, then we saw you stepping backward." He said, "I saw
Paradise (or Paradise was shown to me), and I stretched my hand to pluck a bunch (of grapes), and
had I plucked it, you would have eaten of it as long as this world exists. Then I saw the (Hell) Fire,
and I have never before, seen such a horrible sight as that, and I saw that the majority of its dwellers
were women." The people asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What is the reason for that?" He replied,
"Because of their ungratefulness." It was said. "Do they disbelieve in Allah (are they ungrateful to
Allah)?" He replied, "They are not thankful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the favors done to
them. Even if you do good to one of them all your life, when she seems some harshness from you, she
will say, "I have never seen any good from you.' "
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 67, Hadith 131
Once `Umar asked the leave to see Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in whose company there were some Quraishi
women who were talking to him and asking him for more financial support raising their voices. When
`Umar asked permission to enter the women got up (quickly) hurrying to screen themselves. When
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) admitted `Umar, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was smiling, `Umar asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! May
Allah keep you in happiness always." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "I am astonished at these women who were with
me. As soon as they heard your voice, they hastened to screen themselves." `Umar said, "O Allah's
Apostle! You have more right to be feared by them." Then he addressed (those women) saying, "O
enemies of your own souls! Do you fear me and not Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ?" They replied. "Yes, for you are
a fearful and fierce man as compared with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." On that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said (to `Umar),
"By Him in Whose Hands my life is, whenever Satan sees you taking a path, he follows a path other
than yours."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 59, Hadith 103
“The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man supplicating, and he was saying: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask you by my testifying that You are Allah, there is none worthy of worship except You, the One, As-Samad, the one who does not beget, nor was begotten, and there is none who is like Him (Allāhumma innī as’aluka bi annī ashhadu annaka antallāh, lā ilāha illā ant, al-aḥaduṣ-ṣamad, alladhī lam yalid wa lam yūlad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad).” He said: “So he said: ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, the one which if He is called upon by it, He responds, and when He is asked by it, He gives.’”(One of the narrators) Zaid said: “So I mentioned it to Zuhair bin Mu`awiyah years after that, and he said: Abu Ishaq reported to me from Malik bin Mighwal.’” Zaid said: “Then I mentioned it to Sufyan, so he reported it to me from Malik.”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 48, Hadith 106
"Abu Bakr went out to trade in Busra, one year before the Prophet (ﷺ) died, and with him were Nu`aiman and Suwaibit the sons of Harmalah, who had been present at Badr. Nu`aiman was in charge of the provisions, and Suwaibit was a man who joked a lot. He said to Nu`aiman: 'Feed me'. He said: 'Not until Abu Bakr comes'. He said: 'Then I will have to annoy you'. Then they passed by some people, and Suwaibit said to them: 'Will you buy a slave from me?' They said: 'Yes'. He said 'He is a slave who talks a lot and he will tell you, "I am a free man". If you are going to let him go when he says that to you, do not bother buying him.' They said: 'We will buy him from you.' So they bought him from him in return for ten young she-camels, then they brought him and tied a turban or a rope around his neck. Nu`aiman said: 'This man is making fun of you. I am a free man, not a slave.' They said: 'He has already told us about you; and they took him off.' Then Abu Bakr came and he (Suwaibit) told him about that. So he followed those people and returned their camels to them, and took Nu`aiman back. When they came to the Prophet (ﷺ) they told him what had happened, and the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions laughed about it for a year."
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 33, Hadith 63
Yahya related to me from Malik from Summayy, the mawla of Abu
Bakr from al-Qa'qa ibn Hakim that Kab al-Ahbar said, "Had it not been
for some words which I said, the jews would have made me into a
donkey." Someone asked him what they were. He said, "I seek refuge
with the immense Face of Allah - there is nothing greater than it -
and with the complete words of Allah which neither the good person nor
the corrupt can exceed and with all the most beautiful names of Allah,
what I know of them and what I do not know, from the evil of what He
has created and originated and multiplied."

Muwatta Malik Book 51, Hadith 12
Abu Bakr Siddiq wrote to him: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is the obligation of Sadaqah which the Messenger of Allah enjoined upon the Muslims, as Allah commanded the Messenger of Allah. The ages of camels to be given (in Zakat) may be made up in sheep. So if a man has camels on which the Sadaqah is a Jadha'ah (a four-year-old she-camel) and he does not have a Jadha'ah but he has a Hiqqah (a three year old she-camel), then the Hiqqah should be accepted from him, and two sheep should be given (in addition), if they are readily available, or twenty Dirham. If a man has camels on which the Sadaqah is a Hiqqah, and he only has a Bin Labun( a two-year-old she-camel), then the Bint Labun should be accepted from him, along with two sheep or twenty Dirhams. If a man has camels on which the sadaqah is a Bint Labun, and he does not have one, but he has a Hiqqah, then it should be accepted from him, and the Zakat collector should give him back twenty Dirham or two sheep. If a man has camels on which Sadaqah is a Bint Labun, and he does not have one, but he has a Bint Makhad(a one-year-old she-camel), then the Bint Makhad should be accepted from him, along with twenty Dirham or two sheep. If a man has camels on which the Sadaqah is a Bint Makhad, and he does not have one, but he has a Bint Labun, then the Bint Labun should be accepted from him, and the Zakat collector should give him back twenty Dirhams or two sheep. Whoever does not have a Bint Makhad, but he has a Bint Labun (a two-year-old male camel), then it should be accepted from him and nothing else should be given along with it.' ”
