the Messenger of Allah did not recite for the jinns nor did he see them. The Messenger of Allah went out with a group of his Companions towards the Ukaz market. Something had been intervening between the Shayatin and the news from the heavens, and shooting stars has been sent upon them, so the Shayatin returned to their people and they said to them: ‘What is wrong with you?’ They replied: ‘Something has been intervening between us and the news of the heavens except that something has happened. So travel east and west in the earth and look for what is it that intervenes between you an between the news of the heavens.’” He said: “So they went traveling east and west on the earth, seeking whatever it was that had been intervening between them and the news of the heavens. A group of those who were traveling towards Tihamah headed in the direction of the Messenger of Allah, while he was at Nakhlah, enroute to the Ukaz market. He was performing Salat Al-Fajr with his Companions. When they heard the Quran they listened to it, and they said: ‘By Allah! This is what has been intervening between us and the news of the heavens.’” He said: “Then they returned to their people and said: ‘O our people! Verily we heard a wonderful Recitation! It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join anything with our Lord.’ So Allah, Blessed is He and Most High, revealed to His Prophet: Say: ‘It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened.’ So the saying of the jinns was only revealed to him.”
With this chain, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "The jinns said to their people: When the worshipper stood up invoking Him in prayer, they just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other." He said: "When they saw him performing Salat, and his Companions were performing Salãt, and they were prostrating along with his prostrations." He said: "They were amazed at how his Companions obeyed him so they said to their people: When the worshipper stood up invoking Him in prayer, they just made round Him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 47, Hadith 375
Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said, "When
the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was
taken on the Night Journey, he saw an evil jinn seeking him with a
torch of fire. Whenever the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, turned, he saw him. Jibril said to him, 'Shall I
teach you some words to say? When you say them, his torch will be put
out and will fall from him.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless
him and grant him peace, said, 'Yes, indeed.' Jibril said, 'Say, 'I
seek refuge with the Noble Face of Allah and with the complete words
of Allah which neither the good person nor the corrupt can exceed,
from the evil of what descends from the sky and the evil of what
ascends in it, and from the evil of what is created in the earth and
the evil of what comes out of it, and from the trials of the night and
day, and from the visitations of the night and day, except for one
that knocks with good, O Merciful!" "'

Muwatta Malik Book 51, Hadith 10
"We heard Abu Umamah Al-Bahili say: 'I heard 'Amrah bin 'Abasah say: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is there any moment which brings one close to Allah than another, or any moment that should be sought out for remembering Allah? He said: 'Yes, the closest that the Lord is to His slave is in the last part of the night, so if you can be among those who remember Allah at that time, then do so. For prayer is attended and witnessed (by the angels) until the sun rises, then it rises between the two horns of the Shaitan, that is the time when the disbelievers pray, so do not pray until the sun had risen to the height of a spear and its rays have disappeared. Then prayer is attended and witness (by the angels) until the sun is directly overhead at midday, and that is the time when the gates of Hell are opened and it is stoked up. So do not pray until the shadows appear. Then prayer is attended and witnessed (by angels) until the sun sets, and it sets between the horns of a Shaitan, and that is the time when the disbelievers pray.'"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 6, Hadith 79
While I was praying with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), a man in the company sneezed. I said: Allah have mercy on you! The people stared at me with disapproving looks, so I said: Woe be upon me, why is it that you stare at me? They began to strike their hands on their thighs, and when I saw them urging me to observe silence (I became angry) but I said nothing. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said the prayer (and I declare that neither before him nor after him have I seen a leader who gave better instruction than he for whom I would give my father and mother as ransom). I swear that he did not scold, beat or revile me but said: Talking to persons is not fitting during the prayer, for it consists of glorifying Allah, declaring his Greatness. and recitation of the Qur'an or words to that effect. I said: Messenger of Allah. I was till recently a pagan, but Allah has brought Islam to us; among us there are men who have recourse to Kahins. He said, Do not have recourse to them. I said. There are men who take omens. That is something which they find in their breasts, but let it not turn their way (from freedom of action). I said: Among us there are men who draw lines. He said: There was a prophet who drew lines, so if they do it as they did, that is allowable. I had a maid-servant who tended goats by the side of Uhud and Jawwaniya. One day I happened to pass that way and found that a wolf had carried a goat from her flock. I am after all a man from the posterity of Adam. I felt sorry as they (human beings) feel sorry. So I slapped her. I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and felt (this act of mine) as something grievous I said: Messenger of Allah, should I not grant her freedom? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Bring her to me. So I brought her to him. He said to her: Where is Allah? She said: He is in the heaven. He said: Who am I? She said: Thou art the Messenger of Allah. He said: Grant her freedom, she is a believing woman.
Sahih Muslim Book 5, Hadith 39
That a man came to him (while two groups of Muslims were fighting) and said, "O Abu `Abdur
Rahman! Don't you hear what Allah has mentioned in His Book:
'And if two groups of believers fight against each other...' (49.9)
So what prevents you from fighting as Allah has mentioned in His Book?"' Ibn `Umar said, "O son of
my brother! I would rather be blamed for not fighting because of this Verse than to be blamed because
of another Verse where Allah says:
'And whoever kills a believer intentionally..." (4.93) Then that man said, "Allah says:-- 'And fight
them until there is no more afflictions (worshipping other besides Allah) and the religion (i.e.
worship) will be all for Allah (Alone)" (8.39) Ibn `Umar said, "We did this during the lifetime of
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) when the number of Muslims was small, and a man was put to trial because of his
religion, the pagans would either kill or chain him; but when the Muslims increased (and Islam
spread), there was no persecution." When that man saw that Ibn `Umar did not agree to his proposal,
he said, "What is your opinion regarding `Ali and `Uthman?" Ibn `Umar said, "What is my opinion
regarding `Ali and `Uthman? As for `Uthman, Allah forgave him and you disliked to forgive him, and
`Ali is the cousin and son-in-law of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ." Then he pointed out with his hand and said,
"And that is his daughter's (house) which you can see."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 172
Malik said that Ibn Shihab said, "The precedent of the sunna in
the intentional murder is that when the relatives of the murdered
person relinquish retaliation, the blood-money is owed by the murderer
from his own property unless the tribe helps him with it willingly."
Malik said, "What is done in our community is that the blood-
money is not obliged against the tribe until it has reached a third of
the full amount and upwards. Whatever reaches a third is against the
tribe, and whatever is below a third, is against the property of the
one who did the injury."
Malik said, "The way of doing things
about which there is no dispute among us, in the case of someone who
has the blood-money accepted from him in intentional murder or in any
injury in which there is retaliation, is that that blood-money is not
due from the tribe unless they wish it. The blood-money for that is
from the property of the murderer or the injurer if he has property.
If he does not have any property, it is a debt against him, and none
of it is owed by the tribe unless they wish."
Malik said,
"The tribe does not pay blood-money to anyone who injures himself,
intentionally or accidentally. This is the opinion of the people of
fiqh in our community. I have not heard that anyone has made the tribe
liable for any blood-money incurred by intentional acts. Part of what
is well-known of that is that Allah, the Blessed, and the Exalted,
said in His Book, 'Whoever has something pardoned him by his brother,
should follow it with what is accepted and pay it with good will'
(Sura 2 ayat 178) The commentary on that - in our view - and Allah
knows best, is that whoever gives his brother something of the blood-
money, should follow it with what is accepted and pay him with good
will."
Malik spoke about a child who had no property and a
woman who had no property. He said, "When one of them causes an injury
below a third of the blood-money, it is taken on behalf of the child
and woman from their personal property, if they have property from
which it may be taken. If not, the injury which each of them has
caused is a debt against them. The tribe does not have to pay any of
it and the father of a child is not liable for the blood-money of an
injury caused by the child and he is not responsible for it."
Malik said, "The way of doing things in our community about which
there is no dispute, is that when a slave is killed, the value for him
is that of the day on which he was killed. The tribe of the murderer
is not liable for any of the value of the slave, great or small. That
is the responsibility of the one who struck him from his own personal
property as far as it covers. If the value of the slave is the blood-
money or more, that is against him in his property. That is because
the slave is a certain type of goods."
Muwatta Malik Book 43, Hadith 33
"O Messenger of Allah, I have come to offer myself to you (in marriage)." The Messenger of Allah looked her up and down then lowered his head. When the woman saw that he was not saying anything about her, she sat down. A man among his Companions stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, if you do not want to marry her, then marry me to her." He said: "Do you have anything?" He said: "No, by Allah, I do not have anything." He said: "Look, even if it is only an iron ring." He went, then he came back and said: "No, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah, not even an iron ring, but this is my Izar (lower garment)" - Sahl said: "He did not have a Rida' (upper garment)" - "she can have half of it." The Messenger of Allah said: "What could she do with your Izar? If you wear it, she will not have any of it, and if she wears it, you will not have any of it." The man sat down for a long time, then he got up, and the Messenger of Allah saw him leaving, so he ordered that he be called back. When he came, he said: "What do you know of the Qur'an?" He said: "I know Surah such-and-such, and Surah such-and-such," and listed them. He said: "Can you recite them by heart?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then I marry you to her on the basis of what you know of the Qur'an."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 26, Hadith 144
Fatima complained about the blisters on her hand because of using a mill-stone. She went to ask the
Prophet for servant, but she did not find him (at home) and had to inform `Aisha of her need. When he
came, `Aisha informed him about it. `Ali added: The Prophet (ﷺ) came to us when we had gone to our
beds. When I was going to get up, he said, "'Stay in your places," and sat between us, till I felt the
coolness of the feet on my chest. The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "Shall I not tell you of a thing which is better
for you than a servant? When you (both) go to your beds, say 'Allahu Akbar' thirty-three times, and
'Subhan Allah' thirty-three times, 'Al hamdu 'illah' thirty-three times, for that is better for you than a
servant." Ibn Seereen said, "Subhan Allah' (is to be said for) thirty-four times."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 80, Hadith 15

(One of the narrators) `Abdur-Rahman bin `Umar said: “Bear in mind the word Jibra’il with a Hamzah - this is how it was narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ).”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 5, Hadith 555
"Abdullah told us: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was praying at the House (the Ka'bah) and a group of the nobles of Quraish were sitting there. They had just slaughtered a camel and one of them said: "Which of you will take these stomach contents with the blood and wait until he prostrates, then put them on his back?" 'Abdullah said: 'The one who was most doomed got up and took the stomach contents, then went and waited until he prostrated himself, and put it on his back. Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who was a young girl, was told about that, and she came running and took it off his back. When he had finished praying he said: "O Allah! Punish the Quraish," three times, "O Allah, punish Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Shaibah bin Rabi'ah, 'Utbah bin Rabi'ah, 'Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ait" until he had listed seven men from Quraish.' 'Abdullah said: 'By the One Who revealed the Book to him, I saw them dead on the day of Badr (their corpses) in a single dry well.'"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 1, Hadith 308
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to Abu Talha, "Choose one of your boy servants to serve me in my expedition to
Khaibar." So, Abu Talha took me letting me ride behind him while I was a boy nearing the age of
puberty. I used to serve Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) when he stopped to rest. I heard him saying repeatedly, "O
Allah! I seek refuge with You from distress and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from
miserliness and cowardice, from being heavily in debt and from being overcome by men." Then we
reached Khaibar; and when Allah enabled him to conquer the Fort (of Khaibar), the beauty of Safiya
bint Huyai bin Akhtab was described to him. Her husband had been killed while she was a bride. So
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) selected her for himself and took her along with him till we reached a place called
Sa`d-AsSahba,' where her menses were over and he took her for his wife. Haris (a kind of dish) was
served on a small leather sheet. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) told me to call those who were around me. So,
that was the marriage banquet of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Safiya. Then we left for Medina. I saw Allah's
Apostle folding a cloak round the hump of the camel so as to make a wide space for Safiya (to sit on
behind him) He sat beside his camel letting his knees for Safiya to put her feet on so as to mount the
camel. Then, we proceeded till we approached Medina; he looked at Uhud (mountain) and said, "This
is a mountain which loves us and is loved by us." Then he looked at Medina and said, "O Allah! I
make the area between its (i.e. Medina's) two mountains a sanctuary as Abraham made Mecca a
sanctuary. O Allah! Bless them (i.e. the people of Medina) in their Mudd and Sa (i.e. measures).
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 56, Hadith 108
"I came to Al-Madinah, and I was performing Hajj, and while we were in our camping place unloading our mounts, someone came to us and said: 'The people have gathered in the Masjid.' I looked and found the people gathered, and in the midst of them was a group; there I saw 'Ali bin Abi Talib, Az-Zubair, Talhah and Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah have mercy on them. When I got there, it was said that 'Uthman bin 'Affan had come. He came, wearing a yellowish cloak. I said to my companion: Stay where you are until I find out what is happening. 'Uthman said: Is 'Ali here? Is Az-Zubair here? Is Talhah here? Is Sa'd here? They said: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the Mirbad of Banu so and so, Allah will forgive him, and I bought it, then I came to the Messenger of Allah and told him, and he said: Add it to our Masjid and the reward for it will be yours? They said: Yes. He said: I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever buys the well of Rumah, Allah will forgive him, so I came to the Messenger of Allah and said: I have bought the well of Rumah. He said: Give it to provide water for the Muslims, and the reward for it will be yours? They said: Yes. He said: 'I adjure you by Allah, beside Whom there is none worthy of worship, are you aware that the Messenger of Allah said: Whoever equips the army of Al-'Usrah (i.e. Tabuk), Allah will forgive him, so I equipped them until they were not lacking even a rope or a bridle?' They said: Yes. He said: O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness, O Allah, bear witness."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 29, Hadith 13
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent us on an expedition and made Abu ‘Ubaidah b. al-Jarrah our leader. We had to meet a caravan of the Quraish. He gave us a bag of dates as a light meal during the journey. We had nothing except that. Abu ‘Ubaidah would give each of us one date. We used to suck them as a child sucks, and drink water after that and it sufficed us that day till night. We used to beat leaves off the trees with our sticks (for food), wetted them with water and ate them. We then went to the coast of the sea. There appeared to us a body like a great mound. When we came to it, we found that it was an animal called al-anbar. Abu ‘Ubaidah said: It is a carrion, and it is not lawful for us. He then said: No, we are the Messengers of the Apostel of Allah (ﷺ) and we are in the path of Allah. If you are forced by necessity (to eat it), then eat it. We stayed feeding on it for one mouth, till we became fat, and we were three hundred in number. When we came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), we mentioned it to him. He said : It is a provision which Allah has brought forth for you, and give us some to eat if you have any meat of it with you. So we sent some of it to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he ate (it).
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 28, Hadith 105
I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "If somebody commits a sin and then says, 'O my Lord! I have sinned,
please forgive me!' and his Lord says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and
punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).' Then he remains without committing
any sin for a while and then again commits another sin and says, 'O my Lord, I have committed
another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives
sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sin). Then he remains without
Committing any another sin for a while and then commits another sin (for the third time) and says, 'O
my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that
he has a Lord Who forgives sins and punishes for it I therefore have forgiven My slave (his sin), he
can do whatever he likes."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 132
