"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me these words in witr. He said: Say: Allahumma ihdini fiman hadayta wa 'afini fiman afayta wa tawallani fiman tawallayta wa barik li fima a'tayta, wa qini sharra ma qadayta, fa innaka taqdi wa la yuqda 'alayk, wa innahu la yadhilluman walayta, tabarakta Rabbana wa at'alayt. Wa salla Allahu ala al-Nabi Muhammad (O Allah, guide me among those whom You have guided, pardon me among those You have pardoned, turn to me in friendship among those on whom You have turned in friendship, and bless me in what You have bestowed, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. For verily You decree and none can influence You; and he is not humiliated whom You have befriended. Blessed are You, O Lord, and Exalted. And may Allah (SWT) send salah upon the Prophet Muhammad)'"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 20, Hadith 149
Ibn Shihab (Al Zuhri) said This is the copy of the letter of the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ), which he had written about sadaqah(zakat). This was in the custody of the descendants of ‘Umar bin Al Khattab. Ibn Shihab said Salim bin Abdallah bin Umar read it to me and I memorized it properly. Umar bin Abdul Aziz got it copied from ‘Abdallah, ‘Abdallah bin Umar and Salim bin ‘Abdallah bin ‘Umar. He (Ibn Shihab) then narrated the tradition like the former(i.e., up to one hundred and twenty camels). He further said if they (the camels) reach one hundred and twenty one to one hundred and twenty nine, three she camels in their third year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and thirty to one hundred and thirty nine, two she camels in their third year and one she Camel in her fourth year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and forty to one hundred and forty nine, two she camels in their fourth year and one she Camel in her third year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and fifty to one hundred and fifty nine, three she camels in their fourth year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and sixty to one hundred and sixty nine four she camels in their fourth year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and seventy to one hundred and seventy nine, three she camels in their third year and one she Camel in her fourth year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and eighty to one hundred and eighty nine, two she camels in their fourth year and two she Camel in their third year are to be given. When they reach one hundred and ninety to one hundred and ninety nine, three she camels in their fourth year and one she Camel in her third year are to be given. When they reach two hundred, four she camels in their fourth year or five she Camels in their third year, camels of whichever age are available, are to be accepted.
For the pasturing goats, he narrated the tradition similar to that transmitted by Sufyan bin Husain. This version adds “An old goat, one with defect in the eye or a male goat is not to be accepted in sadaqah(zakat) unless the collector wishes.”
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 9, Hadith 15
Allah has made blind the hearts of some people as He has deprived them of eyesight that they give religious verdict in favour of temporary marriage, while he was alluding to a person (Ibn 'Abbas). Ibn Abbas called him and said: You are an uncouth person, devoid of sense. By my life, Mut'a was practised during the lifetime of the leader of the pious (he meant Allah's Messenger, may peace be upon him), and Ibn Zubair said to him: just do it yourselves, and by Allah, if you do that I will stone you with your stones. Ibn Shihab said. Khalid b. Muhajir b. Saifullah informed me: While I was sitting in the company of a person, a person came to him and he asked for a religious verdict about Mut'a and he permitted him to do it. Ibn Abu 'Amrah al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Be gentle. It was permitted in- the early days of Islam, (for one) who was driven to it under the stress of necessity just as (the eating of) carrion and the blood and flesh of swine and then Allah intensified (the commands of) His religion and prohibited it (altogether). Ibn Shihab reported: Rabi' b. Sabra told me that his father (Sabra) said: I contracted temporary marriage with a woman of Banu 'Amir for two cloaks during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ; then he forbade us to do Mut'a. Ibn Shihab said: I heard Rabi' b. Sabra narrating it to Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz and I was sitting there.
Sahih Muslim Book 16, Hadith 32
As-Salami: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to teach his companions to perform the prayer of Istikhara for each
and every matter just as he used to teach them the Suras from the Quran He used to say, "If anyone of
you intends to do some thing, he should offer a two rak`at prayer other than the compulsory prayers,
and after finishing it, he should say: O Allah! I consult You, for You have all knowledge, and appeal
to You to support me with Your Power and ask for Your Bounty, for You are able to do things while I
am not, and You know while I do not; and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah If You know It
this matter (name your matter) is good for me both at present and in the future, (or in my religion), in
my this life and in the Hereafter, then fulfill it for me and make it easy for me, and then bestow Your
Blessings on me in that matter. O Allah! If You know that this matter is not good for me in my
religion, in my this life and in my coming Hereafter (or at present or in the future), then divert me
from it and choose for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me be pleased with it." (See

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 19
The Prophet (ﷺ) came visiting me while I was (sick) in Mecca, ('Amir the sub-narrator said, and he
disliked to die in the land, whence he had already migrated). He (i.e. the Prophet) said, "May Allah
bestow His Mercy on Ibn Afra (Sa`d bin Khaula)." I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! May I will all my
property (in charity)?" He said, "No." I said, "Then may I will half of it?" He said, "No". I said, "One
third?" He said: "Yes, one third, yet even one third is too much. It is better for you to leave your
inheritors wealthy than to leave them poor begging others, and whatever you spend for Allah's sake
will be considered as a charitable deed even the handful of food you put in your wife's mouth. Allah
may lengthen your age so that some people may benefit by you, and some others be harmed by you."
At that time Sa`d had only one daughter.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 55, Hadith 5
that he asked `Aisha regarding the Verse: 'If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the
orphans (4.3) She said, "O my nephew! This Verse refers to the orphan girl who is under the
guardianship of her guardian who likes her beauty and wealth and wishes to (marry her and) curtails
her Mahr. Such guardians have been forbidden to marry them unless they do justice by giving them
their full Mahr, and they have been ordered to marry other than them. The people asked for the verdict
of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) after that, so Allah revealed: 'They ask your instruction concerning the women . . .
whom you desire to marry.' (4.127) So Allah revealed to them that if the orphan girl had beauty and
wealth, they desired to marry her and for her family status. They can only marry them if they give
them their full Mahr. And if they had no desire to marry them because of their lack of wealth and
beauty, they would leave them and marry other women. So, as they used to leave them, when they had
no interest, in them, they were forbidden to marry them when they had such interest, unless they
treated them justly and gave them their full Mahr Apostle said, 'If at all there is evil omen, it is in the
horse, the woman and the house." a lady is to be warded off. And the Statement of Allah: 'Truly,
among your wives and your children, there are enemies for you (i.e may stop you from the obedience
of Allah)' (64.14)
