I was asked about the invokers of curses during the reign of Mus'ab (b. Zubair) whether they could separate (themselves by this process). He said: I did not understand what to say. So I went to the house of Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) in Mecca. I said to his servant: Seek permission for Me. He said that he (Ibn 'Umar) had been taking rest. He (Ibn 'Umar) heard my voice. and said: Are you Ibn Jubair? I said: Yes. He'said: Come in. By Allah, it must be some (great) need which has brought you here at this Hour. So I got in and found him lying on a blanket reclining against a pillow stuffed with fibres of date-palm. I said: O Abu'Abd al-Rahman, should there be separation between the invokers of curses? He said: Hallowed be Allah, yes, The first one who asked about it was so and so. he said: Messenger of Allah, tell me If one of us finds his wife committing adultery: what should he do? If he talks, that is something great, and if he keeps quiet that is also (something great) (which he cannot afford to do). Allah's Prophet (ﷺ) kept quiet (or some time). After some time he (that very person) came to him (Allah's Messenger) and said: I have been involved in that very cage about which I had asked you Allah the Exalted and Majestic then revealed (these) verses of Surah Nur:" Those who accuse their wives" (verse 6), and he (the Holy Prophet) recited them to him and admonished him, and exhorted him and informed him that the torment of the world is less painful than the torment of the Hereafter. He said: No, by Him Who sent you with Truth, I did not tell a lie against her. He (the Holy Prophet) then called her (the wife of that person who had accused her) and admonished her, and exhorted her, and informed her that the torment of this world is less painful than the torment of the Hereafter. She said: No, by Him Who sent thee with Truth, he is a liar. (it was) the man who started the swearing of oath and he swore in the name of Allah four times that he was among the truthful. and at the fifth turn he said: Let there be curse of Allah upon him if he were among the liars. Then the woman was called and she swore four times in the name of Allah that he (her husband) was among the liars, and at the fifth time (she said): Let there be curse upon her if he were among the truthful. He (the Holy Prophet) then effected separation between the two.
Sahih Muslim Book 19, Hadith 4
While Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was proceeding at night during one of his journeys and `Umar bin Al-Khattab
was traveling beside him, `Umar asked him about something but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not reply. He
asked again, but he did not reply, and then he asked (for the third time) but he did not reply. On that,
`Umar bin Al-Khattab said to himself, "Thakilat Ummu `Umar (May `Umar's mother lose her son)! I
asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) three times but he did not reply." `Umar then said, "I made my camel run faster
and went ahead of the people, and I was afraid that some Quranic Verses might be revealed about me.
But before getting involved in any other matter. I heard somebody calling me. I said to myself, 'I fear
that some Quranic Verses have been revealed about me,' and so I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and greeted
him.
He (Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ) said, 'Tonight a Sura has been revealed to me, and it is dearer to me than that on
which the sun rises (i.e. the world)' Then he recited: "Verily, We have given you a manifest victory."

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 354
"We used to prepare siwak and water for wudu for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Allah (SWT) would wake him when He willed to wake him at night, then he would clean his teeth and make wudu, and pray nine rak'ahs, not sitting until the eighth, when he would praise Allah (SWT) and send blessings upon His Prophet and supplicate between them, but he did not say the taslim. Then he prayed the ninth and sat, and said something similar, praising Allah (SWT) and sending blessings upon His Prophet (ﷺ), then he said a taslim that we could hear, then he prayed two rak'ahs sitting down."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 20, Hadith 123
Um Ruman, the mother of `Aisha said that while `Aisha and she were sitting, an Ansari woman came
and said, "May Allah harm such and-such a person!" Um Ruman said to her, What is the matter?" She
replied, "My son was amongst those who talked of the story (of the Slander)." Um Ruman said, "What
is that?" She said, "So-and-so...." and narrated the whole story. On that `Aisha said, "Did Allah's
Apostle hear about that?" She replies, "yes." `Aisha further said, "And Abu Bakr too?" She replied,
"Yes." On that, `Aisha fell down fainting, and when she came to her senses, she had got fever with
rigors. I put her clothes over her and covered her. The Prophet (ﷺ) came and asked, "What is wrong with
this (lady)?" Um Ruman replied, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! She (i.e. `Aisha) has got temperature with
rigors." He said, "Perhaps it is because of the story that has been talked about?" She said, "Yes."
`Aisha sat up and said, "By Allah, if I took an oath (that I am innocent), you would not believe me,
and if I said (that I am not innocent), you would not excuse me. My and your example is like that of
Jacob and his sons (as Jacob said ): 'It is Allah (Alone) Whose Help can be sought against that you
assert.' Um Ruman said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) then went out saying nothing. Then Allah declared her
innocence. On that, `Aisha said (to the Prophet), "I thank Allah only; thank neither anybody else nor
you."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 187
Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'n Nadr, the mawla of
Abdullah ibn Ubaydullah, from Sulayman ibn Yasar from alMiqdad ibn al-
Aswad that Ali ibn Abi Talib told him to ask the Messenger of Allah,
may Allah bless him and grant him peace, what a man should do, who,
when close to his wife, had a flow of prostatic fluid. Ali explained
that the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, was living with him then and he was too shy to ask
for himself. Al-Miqdad said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, about it, and he said, 'When you
find that, wash your genitals with water and do wudu as for prayer.' "
