Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) halted at Muhassab and the Caliphs did the same after him.

← Previous Hadith Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr and 'Umar observed halt at al-Abtah.

Sahih Muslim Book 15, Hadith 371 Next Hadith → Halt at al-Abtah is not the Sunnah. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) halted there simply because it was easier for him to depart from there, when he left.
