When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) concluded a peace treaty with the people of Hudaibiya, `Ali bin Abu Talib
wrote the document and he mentioned in it, "Muhammad, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ." The pagans said, "Don't
write: 'Muhammad, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)', for if you were an apostle we would not fight with you." Allah's
Apostle asked `Ali to rub it out, but `Ali said, "I will not be the person to rub it out." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)
rubbed it out and made peace with them on the condition that the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions would
enter Mecca and stay there for three days, and that they would enter with their weapons in cases.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 53, Hadith 8
We were in the company of the Prophet (ﷺ) on a journey, and whenever we ascended a high place, we
used to say Takbir (in a loud voice). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O people! Be kind to yourselves, for you are
not calling upon a deaf or an absent one, but You are calling an All-Hearer, and an All-Seer." Then he
came to me as I was reciting silently, "La haul a wala quwwata illa bil-lah." He said, "O `Abdullah bin
Qais! Say: La haul a walaquwata illa bil-lah, for it is one of the treasures of Paradise." Or he said,
"Shall I tell you a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise? It is: La haul a wala quwwata illa
bil-lah."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 80, Hadith 79
"When the Prophet (ﷺ) started to pray, he would say the takbir, then say: 'Inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi rabbil-alamin, la sharika lahu, wa bidhalika umirtu wa ana min al-muslimin. Allahummahdini liahsanil-amali wa ahsanil-akhlaqi la yahdi li ahsaniha illa anta wa qini sayy'al-a'mali wa sayy'al-ahaqi la yaqi sayy'aha illa ant. (Indeed my salah (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of all that exists. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am one of the Muslims. O Allah, guide me to the best of deeds and the best of manners, for none can guide to the best of them but You. And protect me from bad deeds and bad manners, for none can protect against them but You.) "
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 11, Hadith 21
Yahya related to me from Malik from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman
from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban that Ibn Muhayriz said, "I went
into the mosque and saw Abu Said al-Khudri and so I sat by him and
asked him about coitus interruptus. Abu Said al-Khudri said, 'We went
out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, on the expedition to the Banu al-Mustaliq. We took some Arabs
prisoner, and we desired the women as celibacy was hard for us. We
wanted the ransom, so we wanted to practise coitus interruptus. We
said, 'Shall we practise coitus interruptus while the Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is among us before we
ask him?' We asked him about that and he said, 'You don't have to not
do it. There is no self which is to come into existence up to the Day
of Rising but that it will come into existence.' "
Muwatta Malik Book 29, Hadith 106
While the Prophet (ﷺ) was in the state of prostration, surrounded by a group of people from Quraish
pagans. `Uqba bin Abi Mu'ait came and brought the intestines of a camel and threw them on the back
of the Prophet (ﷺ) . The Prophet (ﷺ) did not raise his head from prostration till Fatima (i.e. his daughter) came
and removed those intestines from his back, and invoked evil on whoever had done (the evil deed).
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! Destroy the chiefs of Quraish, O Allah! Destroy Abu Jahl bin Hisham,
`Utba bin Rabi`a, Shaiba bin Rabi`a, `Uqba bin Abi Mu'ait, Umaiya bin Khalaf (or Ubai bin Kalaf)."
Later on I saw all of them killed during the battle of Badr and their bodies were thrown into a well
except the body of Umaiya or Ubai, because he was a fat person, and when he was pulled, the parts of
his body got separated before he was thrown into the well.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 58, Hadith 27
When the believing women migrated (to Medina) and came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), they would be tested in accordance with the following words of Allah. the Almighty and Exalted:" O Prophet, when believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee that they will not associate in worship anything with God, that they will not steal. that, they will not commit adultery..." to the end of the verse (lx. 62).
Whoso from the believing women accepted these conditions and agreed to abide by them were considered to have offered themselves for swearing fealty. When they had (formally) declared their resolve to do so, the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) would say to them: You may go. I have confirmed your fealty. By God, the hand of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never touched the hand of a woman. He would take the oath of fealty from them by oral declaration. By God, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never took any vow from women except that which God had ordered him to take, and his palm never touched the palm of a woman. When he had taken their vow, he would tell them that he had taken the oath from them orally.
