I went to Um Habiba, the wife of Prophet, who said, "I heard the Prophets saying, 'It is not legal for a
woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for any dead person for more than three days
except for her husband, (for whom she should mourn) for four months and ten days'." Later I went to
Zainab bint Jahsh when her brother died; she asked for some scent, and after using it she said, "I am
not in need of scent but I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'It is not legal for a woman who believes in
Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days for any dead person except her husband,
(for whom she should mourn) for four months and ten days.' "
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 23, Hadith 42
Yahya related to me that Malik said, "Someone whose passage to
the House is blocked by an enemy is freed from every restriction of
ihram, and should sacrifice his animal and shave his head wherever he
has been detained, and there is nothing for him to make up
afterwards."
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard
that when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, and his companions came out of ihram at al-Hudaybiya they
sacrificed their sacrificial animals and shaved their heads, and were
freed from all the restrictions of ihram without having done tawaf of
the House and without their sacrificial animals reaching the Kaba.
There is nothing known about the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, ever telling any of his
companions, or anybody else that was with him, to make up for anything
they had missed or to go back to doing anything they had not finished
doing.
Muwatta Malik Book 20, Hadith 100
The delegates of `Abdul Qais came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "The pagans of the tribe of Mudar
intervene between you and us therefore we cannot come to you except in the Holy months. So please
order us to do something good (Religious deeds) by which we may enter Paradise (by acting on them)
and we may inform our people whom we have left behind to observe it." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I order
you to do four things and forbid you from four things: I order you to believe in Allah. Do you know
what is meant by belief in Allah? It is to testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah,
to offer prayers perfectly, to give Zakat, and to give Al-Khumus (one-fifth of the war booty) (in
Allah's Cause). And I forbid you four things, (i.e., Do not drink alcoholic drinks) Ad-Dubba, An-
Naqir, (pitched water skins), Az-Zuruf, Al-Muzaffat and Al--Hantam (names of utensils used for the
preparation of alcoholic drinks)." (See Hadith No. 50, Vol. 1)
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 181
"We would sit with the Messenger of Allah in the Masjid and when he stood up, we would stand up too, Only day he stood up and we stood up with him, and when he reached the middle of the Masjid, a man caught up with him and pulled roughly on his Rida' (upper-warp) from behind. His Rida 'was of rough material, and that left a red mark on his neck. He said: 'O Muhammad! Load up these two camels of mine, for you are not giving me anything from your wealth or the wealth of your father!' The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Messenger of Allah said: 'No, and I pray for Allah's forgiveness. I will not load anything (onto your camels) untily you let me retaliate for your pulling roughly (on my cloak and leaving a mark on) my neck.' The Bedouin said: 'No, by Allah, I will not let you retaliate., The Messenger of Allah said that three times, and each time the man said: 'No, by Allah, I will not let you retaliate., When we heard what the Bedouin said, we turned toward him quickly. The Messenger of Allah turned to us and said; 'I urge anyone who hears me not to leave his place until give him permission. Then the Messenger of Allah said: 'O so and so, load one of his camels with barley and the other with dates.' Then the Messenger of Allah said: 'Leave,"'
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 45, Hadith 71
We poured medicine in one side of the Prophet's mouth during his illness and he started pointing to us,
meaning to say, "Don't pour medicine in my mouth." We said, "(He says so) because a patient dislikes
medicines." When he improved and felt a little better, he said, "Didn't I forbid you to pour medicine in
my mouth ?" We said, " ( We thought it was because of) the dislike, patients have for medicines. He
said, "Let everyone present in the house be given medicine by pouring it in his mouth while I am
looking at him, except `Abbas as he has not witnessed you (doing the same to me).
