“The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to us and said: ‘Whoever has some

and pray two Rak’ah, then let him say: La ilaha

Your mercy and
forgiveness, the benefit of every good deed and safety

I ask You not to leave any sin of mine but You forgive

distress but You relieve it, or any need that is pleasing
to You but
You meet it). Then he should ask Allah for whatever he
wants in this
world and in the Hereafter, for it is decreed.”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 5, Hadith 582
the Prophet came to visit 'Abdullah bin Thabit (when he was sick) and found him very close to death. He called out to him and he did not respond, so the Messenger of Allah said: "Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return," and said: "We wanted you to live but we were overtaken by the decree of Allah, O Abu Ar-Rabi." The women screamed and wept, and Ibn "Atik started telling them to quiet. The Messenger of Allah said: "Leave them; when the inevitable comes, no one should weep." They said: "What is the inevitable, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Death." His daughter said: "I had hoped that you would become a martyr, for you had prepared yourself for it." The Messenger of Allah said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has rewarded him according to his intention. What do you think martyrdom is?" They said: "Being killed for the sake of Allah." The Messenger of Allah said: "Martyrdom is of seven types besides being killed for the sake of Allah. The one who dies of the plague is a martyr; the one who is crushed by a falling building is a martyr; the one who is crusheds by a falling building is a martyr; the one who dies of pleurisy is a martyr; the one who dies of pleurisy is a martyr; the one who is burned to death is a martyr, and the woman who dies in pregnancy is a martyr."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 21, Hadith 29
Once I went to Medina where there was an outbreak of disease and the people were dying rapidly. I
was sitting with `Umar and a funeral procession passed by. The people praised the deceased. `Umar
said, "It has been affirmed" (Paradise). Then another funeral procession passed by. The people praised
the deceased. `Umar said, "It has been affirmed." (Paradise). Then another funeral procession passed
by. The people praised the deceased. `Umar said, "It has been affirmed (Paradise)." Then a third
funeral procession passed by and the people talked badly of the deceased. `Umar said, "It has been
affirmed (Hell)." I asked `Umar, "O chief of the believers! What has been affirmed?" He said, "I have
said what the Prophet (ﷺ) said. He said, 'Allah will admit into paradise any Muslim whose good character
is attested by four persons.' We asked the Prophet, 'If there were three witnesses only?' He said, 'Even
three.' We asked, 'If there were two only?' He said, 'Even two.' But we did not ask him about one
witness."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 52, Hadith 7
Yahya said that he had heard Malik say, "The undisputed way of
doing things in our community concerning pledges is that in cases
where land or a house or an animal are known to have been destroyed
whilst in the possession of the broker of the pledge, and the
circumstances of the loss are known, the loss is against the pledger.
There is no deduction made from what is due to the broker at all. Any
pledge which perishes in the possession of the broker and the
circumstances of its loss are only known by his word, the loss is
against the broker and he is liable for its value. He is asked to
describe whatever was destroyed and then he is made to take an oath
about that description and what he loaned on security for it. "Then
people of discernment evaluate the description. If the pledge was
worth more than what the broker loaned, the pledger takes the extra.
If the assessed value of the pledge is less than what he was loaned,
the pledger is made to take an oath as to what the broker loaned and
he does not have to pay the extra which the broker loaned above the
assessed value of the pledge. If the pledger refuses to take an oath,
he has to give the broker the extra above the assessed value of the
pledge. If the broker says that he doesn't know the value of the
pledge, the pledger is made to take an oath on the description of the
pledge and that is his if he brings a matter which is not disapproved
of."
Malik said, "All this applies when the broker takes the
pledge and does not put it in the hands of another."
Muwatta Malik Book 36, Hadith 19
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah created Paradise, He said to Gabriel: Go and look at it. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, no one who hears of it will fail to enter it.
He then surrounded it with disagreeable things, and said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, I am afraid that no one will enter it.
When Allah created Hell, He said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went and looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might, no one who hears of it will enter it.
He then surrounded it with desirable things and said: Go and look at it, Gabriel. He went, looked at it, then came and said: O my Lord! By Thy might and power, I am afraid that no one will remain who does not enter it.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 42, Hadith 149
“I came to the
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, we live
in a
land of the People of the Book and we eat from their vessels.
And we
live in a land (where there is) game, so I hunt with my bow
and with
my trained dog and with my untrained dog.’ The Messenger
of Allah
(ﷺ) said: ‘As for what you say about living in a land of
the People
of the Book, do not eat from their vessels unless you can
find no
alternative. If you can fidn no alternative then wash them
and eat
from them. With regard to what you say about hunting,
whatever you
catch with your bow, say the Name of Allah over it and
eat. Whatever
you catch with your trained dog, say the Name of Allah
over it and
eat. But whatever you catch with your untrained dog, then
catch it,
slaughter it, then eat.’”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 28, Hadith 8
Some angels came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was sleeping. Some of them said, "He is sleeping." Others
said, "His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake." Then they said, "There is an example for this
companion of yours." One of them said, "Then set forth an example for him." Some of them said, "He
is sleeping." The others said, "His eyes are sleeping but his heart is awake." Then they said, "His
example is that of a man who has built a house and then offered therein a banquet and sent an inviter
(messenger) to invite the people. So whoever accepted the invitation of the inviter, entered the house
and ate of the banquet, and whoever did not accept the invitation of the inviter, did not enter the
house, nor did he eat of the banquet." Then the angels said, "Interpret this example to him so that he
may understand it." Some of them said, "He is sleeping.'' The others said, "His eyes are sleeping but
his heart is awake." And then they said, "The houses stands for Paradise and the call maker is
Muhammad; and whoever obeys Muhammad, obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys Muhammad,
disobeys Allah. Muhammad separated the people (i.e., through his message, the good is distinguished
from the bad, and the believers from the disbelievers).
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 96, Hadith 13
Malik related to me from Nuaym ibn Abdullah ibn al-Mujmir from
AIi ibn Yahya az-Zuraqi from his father that Rifaa ibn Rafi said, "One
day we were praying behind the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, raised his head from ruku and said, 'Allah hears
the one who praises Him' (Sami Allahu liman hamidah). A man behind him
said, 'Our Lord, praise belongs to you - blessed, pure and abundant
praise' (Rabbana wa laka'l hamd, hamdan kathiran tayiban mubarakan fihi). When
the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had
finished, he said, 'Who was it who spoke just now?' The man said, 'I
did, Messenger of Allah,' and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless
him and grant him peace, said, 'I saw more than thirty angels rushing
to it to see which one of them would record it first.' "
Muwatta Malik Book 15, Hadith 27
"Allah will gather mankind on the Day of Resurrection on a single plane, then the Lord of the Worlds will come to them and say: 'Let every person follow what they used to worship.' SO to the worshipper of the cross, his cross shall be symbolized to him, and to the worshipper of images his images, and to the worshipper of fire his fire. They will follow what they used to worship, and the Muslims will remain. Then the Lord of the Worlds will come to them and say: 'Do you not follow the people?' So they will say: 'We seek refuge in Allah from you, we seek refuge in Allah from you, Allah is our Lord, and we shall remain here until we see our Lord.' And He orders them and makes them firm.'"Thy said: "And you will see Him, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Are you harmed in seeing the moon on the night of a full moon?" They said: "No, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "So you will not be harmed in seeing Him at that hour. Then He will conceal Himself, then He will come, and He will make them recognize Him, then He will say: "I am your Lord, so follow Me." So the Muslims will arise and the Sirat shall be placed, and they shall be placed, and they shall pass by it the like of excellent horses and camels and their statement upon it shall be, "Grant them safety, grant them safety." And the people of Fire shall remain, then a party of them shall be cast down into it, and it shall be said (to the Fire): 'Have you become full?' So it shall say: Is there more?
Then a party of them shall be cast down into it, and it shall be said: 'Have you become full?' So it shall say: Is there more? Until when they are all included into it, Ar-Rahman (the Most-Merciful) shall place His foot in it and its sides shall be all brought together, then He will say: 'Enough.' It will say 'Enough, enough.' So when Allah, the Exalted, has admitted the people of Paradise into Paradise and the people of Fire into Fire"- , then it will be said: 'O people of Paradise! Everlasting life without death!' And 'O people of the Fire! Everlasting life without death!'"
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 38, Hadith 35
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever spends a pair of things in the path of Allah, he will be called in Paradise: 'O Worshiper of Allah, this is good.' And whoever is among the people of Salat, he will be called from the gate of Salat, and whoever was among from the people of Jihad, he will be called from the gate of Jihad. And whoever was among the people of charity, then he will be called from the gate of charity, and whoever was from the people of fasting, then he will be called from the gate of Ar-Rayyan." So Abu Bakr said: "May my father and mother be ransomed for you! The one who is called from these gates will be free of all worries. But will anyone be called from all of those gates?" He (ﷺ) said: "Yes, and I hope that you are among them."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 49, Hadith 70
"Ammar bin Yasir led the people in prayer and he made the prayer short. It was as if they disliked that, so he said: 'Did I not do bowing and prostration properly?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'And I said a supplication that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say:Allahumma bi 'ilmikal-ghaiba wa qudratika 'alal-khalqi ahini ma 'alimtal-hayata khairan li, wa tawaffani idha 'alimtal-wafata khairan li. Allahumma as'aluka khashyataka fil-ghaibi wash-shahadati wa as'aluka kalimatul-aqua fir-rida'i wal ghadab, wa as'alukal-qasda fil faqr wal-ghina, wa as'aluka na'iman la yanfadu wa as'aluka qurrata ainan la tanqati'u wa as'alukar-rida'i ba'dal-qada'i wa as'aluka bardal 'aishi ba'dal-mawti, wa as'aluka ladhatan-nazari ila wajhika wash-shawqa ila liqa'ika fi fitnatin mudillatin, Allahumma zayyina dizinatil-imani waj'alna hudatan muhtadin (O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive so long as You know that living is good for me and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me. O Allah, cause me to fear You in secret and in public. I ask You to make me true in speech in times of pleasure and of anger. I ask You to make me moderate in times of wealth and poverty. And I ask You for everlasting delight and joy that will never cease. I ask You to make me pleased with that which You have decreed and for an easy life after death. I ask You for the sweetness of looking upon Your face and a longing to meet You in a manner that does not entail a calamity that will bring about harm or a trial that will cause deviation. O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of faith and make us among those who guide and are rightly guided."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 13, Hadith 128
"When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) became seriously ill, Bilal came to tell him it was time to pray and he said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."' She said: "I said: '0 Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man, and when he stands in your place he will not be able to make the people
hear his voice; why don't you tell 'Umar (to do it)?' He said: 'Tell a Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer.' I said to Hafsah: 'Tell him.' So she told him. He said: 'You are (like) the female companions of Yosuf. Tell Abu Bakr lead the people in prayer."' She said: "So they told Abu Bakr. When he started to pray, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) began to feel better, so he got up and came with the help of two men, with his feet dragging along the ground. (When) he entered the Masjid, Abu
Bakr heard him coming and he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gestured to him: 'Stay where you are.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came and sat on Abu Bakr's left, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was leading the people in prayer sitting, and Abu Bakr was standing and following the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 10, Hadith 57
that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "My Lord, Blessed is He and Most High, came to me in the best of appearances. So he said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'Here I am O my Lord! And I am at Your service.' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: ' I do not know.' So He placed His Hand between my shoulders, until I sensed its coolness between my breast, so I knew what was in between the east and the west. He said: 'O Muhammad!' I said: 'Here I am O my Lord! And I am at Your service.' He said: 'What is it that the most exalted group busy themselves with?' I said: 'In the acts that raise ranks and the acts that atone, and in recording the footsteps to the congregation, Isbagh Al-Wudu in difficulties, and awaiting the Salat after the Salat. And whoever preserves them, he shall live in goodness and die upon goodness, and his sins shall be like that on the day upon which his mother bore him.'"
