The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: “Should I not teach you some words to say when you go to your bed, so if you died, you will die upon the Fitrah, and if you reach the morning, you will reach it in good? You say: ‘O Allah, verily, I submit myself to You, and I turn my face to You, and I entrust my affair to You, hoping in You and fearing in You. And I lay myself down depending upon You, there is no refuge minka illā ilaik. Āmantu bikitābikal-ladhī anzalta wa binabiyyikal-ladhī arsalt).’” Al-Bara' said: “So I said: ‘And in Your Messenger whom you have sent.’” He said: “So he (ﷺ) struck his hand upon my chest, then said: “And in Your Prophet whom You have sent. (Wa binabiyyikal-ladhī arsalt).”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 48, Hadith 25
During the last Hajj (Hajj-al-Wada`) of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) he performed `Umra and Hajj. He drove a
Hadi along with him from Dhul-Hulaifa. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) started by assuming Ihram for `Umra and
Hajj. And the people, too, performed the `Umra and Hajj along with the Prophet. Some of them
brought the Hadi and drove it along with them, while the others did not. So, when the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived
at Mecca. he said to the people, "Whoever among you has driven the Hadi, should not finish his Ihram
till he completes his Hajj. And whoever among you has not (driven) the Hadi with him, should
perform Tawaf of the Ka`ba and the Tawaf between Safa and Marwa, then cut short his hair and finish
his Ihram, and should later assume Ihram for Hajj; but he must offer a Hadi (sacrifice); and if anyone
cannot afford a Hadi, he should fast for three days during the Hajj and seven days when he returns
home. The Prophet (ﷺ) performed Tawaf of the Ka`ba on his arrival (at Mecca); he touched the (Black
Stone) corner first of all and then did Ramal (fast walking with moving of the shoulders) during the
first three rounds round the Ka`ba, and during the last four rounds he walked. After finishing Tawaf of
the Ka`ba, he offered a two rak`at prayer at Maqam Ibrahim, and after finishing the prayer he went to
Safa and Marwa and performed seven rounds of Tawaf between them and did not do any deed
forbidden because of Ihram, till he finished all the ceremonies of his Hajj and sacrificed his Hadi on
the day of Nahr (10th day of Dhul-Hijja). He then hastened onwards (to Mecca) and performed Tawaf
of the Ka`ba and then everything that was forbidden because of Ihram became permissible. Those who
took and drove the Hadi with them did the same as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 25, Hadith 170
I saw Abu Dhar wearing a Burd (garment) and his slave too was wearing a Burd, so I said (to Abu
Dhar), "If you take this (Burda of your slave) and wear it (along with yours), you will have a nice suit
(costume) and you may give him another garment." Abu Dhar said, "There was a quarrel between me
and another man whose mother was a non-Arab and I called her bad names. The man mentioned
(complained about) me to the Prophet. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Did you abuse so-and-so?" I said, "Yes" He
said, "Did you call his mother bad names?" I said, "Yes". He said, "You still have the traits of (the
Pre-lslamic period of) ignorance." I said. "(Do I still have ignorance) even now in my old age?" He
said, "Yes, they (slaves or servants) are your brothers, and Allah has put them under your command.
So the one under whose hand Allah has put his brother, should feed him of what he eats, and give him
dresses of what he wears, and should not ask him to do a thing beyond his capacity. And if at all he
asks him to do a hard task, he should help him therein."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 78, Hadith 80
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to us all of a sudden as we were (busy in a discussion). He said: What do you discuss about? They (the Companions) said. We are discussing about the Last Hour. Thereupon he said: It will not come until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made a mention of the smoke, Dajjal, the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (Allah be pleased with him), the Gog and Magog, and land-slides in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly.
Sahih Muslim Book 54, Hadith 51
(One night) I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt Maimuna, and said to myself, "I will watch the
prayer of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) " My aunt placed a cushion for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he slept on it in its
length-wise direction and (woke-up) rubbing the traces of sleep off his face and then he recited the last
ten Verses of Surat-al-`Imran till he finished it. Then he went to a hanging water skin and took it,
performed the ablution and then stood up to offer the prayer. I got up and did the same as he had done,
and stood beside him. He put his hand on my head and held me by the ear and twisted it. He offered
two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, and
finally the witr (i.e. one rak`a) prayer.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 92
When I came under discussion what the people had to say about me, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up for delivering an address and he recited tashahhud (I bear witness to the fact that iheie is no god but Allah) and praised Allah, lauded Him what He rightly deserves and then said: Coming to the point. Give me an advice about them who have brought false charge about my family. By Allah, I know no evil in the members of my family and the person in connection with whom the false charge is being levelled, I know no evil in him too. And he never entered my house but in my presence and when I was away on a journey, he remained with me even in that. The rest of the hadith is the same but with this change that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to my house and asked my maidservant and she said: By Allah, I know no fault in her but this that she sleeps, and goat comes and eats the kneaded flour. Some of the Companions (of the Holy Prophet) scolded her and said: State the fact before Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and they even made a pointed reference (to this incident). She said: gallowed be Allah. By Allah, I know about her as does the jeweller know about the pure piece of gold. And when this news reached the person in connection with whom the allegation was made he said: Hallowed be Allah. By Allah, I have never unveiled any woman. 'A'isha said: He fell as a martyr in the cause of Allah, and there is this addition in this hadith that the people who had brought false allegation amongst them were Mistah and Hamna and Hassan. And so far as the hypocrite 'Abdullah b. Ubayy is concerned, he was one who tried his best to gather the false news and then gave them the wind. And he was in fact a fabricator and there was Hamna, daughter of Jahsh with him.
Sahih Muslim Book 50, Hadith 67
Once I went with `Umar bin Al-Khattab to the market. A young woman followed `Umar and said, "O
chief of the believers! My husband has died, leaving little children. By Allah, they have not even a
sheep's trotter to cook; they have no farms or animals. I am afraid that they may die because of
hunger, and I am the daughter of Khufaf bin Ima Al-Ghafari, and my father witnessed the Pledge of
allegiance) of Al-Hudaibiya with the Prophet.' `Umar stopped and did not proceed, and said, "I
welcome my near relative." Then he went towards a strong camel which was tied in the house, and
carried on to it, two sacks he had loaded with food grains and put between them money and clothes
and gave her its rope to hold and said, "Lead it, and this provision will not finish till Allah gives you a
good supply." A man said, "O chief of the believers! You have given her too much." "`Umar said
disapprovingly. "May your mother be bereaved of you! By Allah, I have seen her father and brother
besieging a fort for a long time and conquering it, and then we were discussing what their shares they
would have from that war booty."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 203
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Muhammad
ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith at-Taymi that A'isha, umm al-muminin said,
"I was sleeping by the side of the Messenger of Allah, mayAllah bless
him and grant him peace, and I missed him in the night, so I felt for
him with my hand and I put my hand on his feet and he was in sajda
saying, 'I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and in Your
pardon from Your punishment, and in You from You. I cannot enumerate
Your praises as You praise Yourself.' "
