when the Prophet conquered Khaibar, he stipulated that the land, and all the yellow and white, meaning gold and silver belonged to him. The people of Khaibar said to him: “We know the land better, so give it to us so that we may work the land, and you will have half of its produce and we will have half.” He maintained that, he gave it to them on that basis. When the time for the date harvest came, he sent Ibn Rawahah to them. He assesses the date palms, and he said: “For this tree, such and such (amount).” They said: “You are demanding too much of us, O Ibn Rawahah!” He said: “This is my assessment and I will give you half of what I say.” They said: “This is fair, and fairness is what haven and earth are based on.” They said: “We Agree to take (accept) what you say.”
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 8, Hadith 38
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When Allah has ordained some affair in the Heaven, the angels beat with their
wings in obedience to His statement, which sounds like a chain dragged over a rock." (`Ali and other
sub-narrators said, "The sound reaches them.") "Until when fear is banished from their (angels) hearts,
they (angels) say, 'What was it that your Lord said? They say, 'The truth; And He is the Most High,
the Most Great.' (34.23) Then those who gain a hearing by stealing (i.e. devils) will hear Allah's
Statement:-- 'Those who gain a hearing by stealing, (stand one over the other like this).
(Sufyan, to illustrate this, spread the fingers of his right hand and placed them one over the other
horizontally.) A flame may overtake and burn the eavesdropper before conveying the news to the one
below him; or it may not overtake him till he has conveyed it to the one below him, who in his turn,
conveys it to the one below him, and so on till they convey the news to the earth. (Or probably Sufyan
said, "Till the news reaches the earth.") Then the news is inspired to a sorcerer who would add a
hundred lies to it. His prophecy will prove true (as far as the heavenly news is concerned). The people
will say. 'Didn't he tell us that on such-and-such a day, such-and-such a thing will happen? We have
found that is true because of the true news heard from heaven."
The above hadith is also narrated by Abu Huraira, starting: 'When Allah has ordained some affair...') In this narration the word foreteller is added to the word wizard.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 223
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was fond of honey and sweet edible things and (it was his habit) that after finishing
the `Asr prayer he would visit his wives and stay with one of them at that time. Once he went to
Hafsa, the daughter of `Umar and stayed with her more than usual. I got jealous and asked the reason
for that. I was told that a lady of her folk had given her a skin filled with honey as a present, and that
she made a syrup from it and gave it to the Prophet (ﷺ) to drink (and that was the reason for the delay). I
said, "By Allah we will play a trick on him (to prevent him from doing so)." So I said to Sa`da bint
Zam`a "The Prophet (ﷺ) will approach you, and when he comes near you, say: 'Have you taken Maghafir
(a bad-smelling gum)?' He will say, 'No.' Then say to him: 'Then what is this bad smell which i smell
from you?' He will say to you, 'Hafsa made me drink honey syrup.' Then say: Perhaps the bees of that
honey had sucked the juice of the tree of Al-`Urfut.' I shall also say the same. O you, Safiyya, say the
same." Later Sa`da said, "By Allah, as soon as he (the Prophet (ﷺ) ) stood at the door, I was about to say
to him what you had ordered me to say because I was afraid of you." So when the Prophet (ﷺ) came near
Sa`da, she said to him, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Have you taken Maghafir?" He said, "No." She said.
"Then what is this bad smell which I detect on you?" He said, "Hafsa made me drink honey syrup."
She said, "Perhaps its bees had sucked the juice of Al-`Urfut tree." When he came to me, I also said
the same, and when he went to Safiyya, she also said the same. And when the Prophet (ﷺ) again went to
Hafsa, she said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Shall I give you more of that drink?" He said, "I am not in need of
it." Sa`da said, "By Allah, we deprived him (of it)." I said to her, "Keep quiet." '
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 68, Hadith 18
Yahya said that he heard Malik say, "What I have heard from the
people of knowledge is that if a man succumbs to an illness which
makes fasting very difficult for him and exhausts him and wears him
out, he can break his fast. This is the same as with a sick man in the
prayer, who finds standing to be too difficult and exhausting, (and
Allah knows better than the slave that it is an excuse for him and
that it really cannot be described). If the man is in such a
condition he prays sitting, and the deen of Allah is ease.
Allah has permitted a traveller to break the fast when travelling, and
he has more strength for fasting than a sick man. Allah, the Exalted,
says in His book, 'Whoever among you is ill or on a journey (must
fast) a number of other days,' and Allah has thus permitted a
traveller to break his fast when on a journey, and he is more capable
of fasting than a sick man.
