"I came saying. 'Who will exchange Dirham?' Talhah bin 'Ubaidullah, who was with 'Umar bin Khattab, said: 'Show us your gold, then come to us; when our treasure comes, we will give you your silver.' 'Umar said: 'No, by Allah, you will give him silver (now), or give him back his gold, for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Silver for gold is usury, unless it is exchanged on the spot."'
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 12, Hadith 124
AbdurRahman ibn Ka'b ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ): The infidels of the Quraysh wrote (a letter) to Ibn Ubayy and to those who worshipped idols from al-Aws and al-Khazraj, while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was at that time at Medina before the battle of Badr.
(They wrote): You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah, you should fight him or expel him, or we shall come to you in full force, until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women.
When this (news) reached Abdullah ibn Ubayy and those who were worshippers of idols, with him they gathered together to fight the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
When this news reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he visited them and said: The threat of the Quraysh to you has reached its end. They cannot contrive a plot against you, greater than what you yourselves intended to harm you. Are you willing to fight your sons and brethren? When they heard this from the Prophet (ﷺ), they scattered. This reached the infidels of the Quraysh.
The infidels of the Quraysh again wrote (a letter) to the Jews after the battle of Badr: You are men of weapons and fortresses. You should fight our companion or we shall deal with you in a certain way. And nothing will come between us and the anklets of your women. When their letter reached the Prophet (ﷺ), they gathered Banu an-Nadir to violate the treaty.
They sent a message to the Prophet (ﷺ): Come out to us with thirty men from your companions, and thirty rabbis will come out from us till we meet at a central place where they will hear you. If they testify to you and believe in you, we shall believe in you. The narrator then narrated the whole story.
When the next day came, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out in the morning with an army, and surrounded them.
He told them: I swear by Allah, you will have no peace from me until you conclude a treaty with me. But they refused to conclude a treaty with him. He therefore fought them the same day.
Next he attacked Banu Quraysh with an army in the morning, and left Banu an-Nadir. He asked them to sign a treaty and they signed it.
He turned away from them and attacked Banu an-Nadir with an army. He fought with them until they agreed to expulsion. Banu an-Nadir were deported, and they took with them whatever their camels could carry, that is, their property, the doors of their houses, and their wood. Palm-trees were exclusively reserved for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Allah bestowed them upon him and gave them him as a special portion.
He (Allah), the Exalted, said: What Allah has bestowed on His Apostle (and taken away) from them, for this ye made no expedition with either camel corps or cavalry." He said: "Without fighting." So the Prophet (ﷺ) gave most of it to the emigrants and divided it among them; and he divided some of it between two men from the helpers, who were needy, and he did not divide it among any of the helpers except those two. The rest of it survived as the sadaqah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) which is in the hands of the descendants of Fatimah (Allah be pleased with her).
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 20, Hadith 77
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "While three men were walking, It started raining and they took shelter (refuge) in a
cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled down from the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave. They
said to each other, "Think of good deeds which you did for Allah's sake only, and invoke Allah by
giving reference to those deeds so that He may remove this rock from you."
One of them said, 'O Allah! I had old parents and small children and I used to graze the sheep for
them. On my return to them in the evening, I used to milk (the sheep) and start providing my parents
first of all before my children. One day I was delayed and came late at night and found my parents
sleeping. I milked (the sheep) as usual and stood by their heads. I hated to wake them up and disliked
to give milk to my children before them, although my children were weeping (because of hunger) at
my feet till the day dawned. O Allah! If I did this for Your sake only, kindly remove the rock so that
we could see the sky through it.' So, Allah removed the rock a little and they saw the sky.
The second man said, 'O Allah! I was in love with a cousin of mine like the deepest love a man may
have for a woman. I wanted to outrage her chastity but she refused unless I gave her one hundred
Dinars. So, I struggled to collect that amount. And when I sat between her legs, she said, 'O Allah's
slave! Be afraid of Allah and do not deflower me except rightfully (by marriage).' So, I got up. O
Allah! If I did it for Your sake only, please remove the rock.' The rock shifted a little more.
Then the third man said, 'O Allah! I employed a laborer for a Faraq of rice and when he finished his
job and demanded his right, I presented it to him, but he refused to take it. So, I sowed the rice many
time till I gathered cows and their shepherd (from the yield). (Then after some time) He came and said
to me, 'Fear Allah (and give me my right)." I said, 'Go and take those cows and the shepherd.' He said,
'Be afraid of Allah! Don't mock at me.' I said, 'I am not mocking at you. Take (all that).' So, he took all
that. O Allah! If I did that for Your sake only, please remove the rest of the rock.' So, Allah removed
the rock."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 41, Hadith 14
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me, saying: ‘Say: “O Allah, this is the coming of Your night, and the departing of Your day, the voices of those calling to You, and the time of prayers to You, I ask You to forgive me (Allāhumma hādhastiqbālu lailika, wastidbāru nahārika, wa aṣwātu du`ātika wa ḥuḍūru ṣalawātika, as’aluka an taghfira lī).”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 48, Hadith 220
Malik related to me from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman from another
of the ulama of that time that Abu Musa al-Ashari came and asked
permission from Umar ibn al-Khattab to enter. He asked permission
three times, and then went away Umar ibn al-Khattab sent after him and
said, "What's wrong with you? Why didn't you come in?" Abu Musa said,
"I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, say, 'Ask permission to enter three times. If you are given
permission, then enter. If not, go away.' ''Umar said, "Who can
confirm this? If you do not bring me someone to confirm it, I will do
such-and-such to you."
Abu Musa went out until he came to an
assembly in the mosque which was called the Majlis-al-Ansar. He said,
"I told Umar ibn al-Khattab that I heard the Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Ask permission three times.
If you are given permission, then enter. If not, go away.' Umar said,
'If you do not bring me someone who can confirm it, I will do such-
and-such to you'. If any of you have heard that, let him come with
me.' " They said to Abu Said al-Khudri, "Go with him". Abu Said was
the youngest of them. He went with him and told Umar ibn al-Khattab
about that."
Umar ibn al-Khattab said to Abu Musa, "I did not
suspect you, but I feared lest people forge sayings of the Messenger
of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
