Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Layla ibn Abdullah ibn
Abd ar-Rahman ibn Sahl from Sahl ibn Abi Hathma that some of the great
men of his people informed him that Abdullah ibn Sahl and Muhayyisa
went out to Khaybar because extreme poverty had overtaken them.
Muhayyisa returned and said that Abdullah ibn Sahl had been killed and
thrown in a shallow well or spring. The jews came and he said, "By
Allah! You have killed him." They said, "By Allah! We have not killed
him!" Then he made for his people and mentioned that to them. Then he,
his brother Huwayyisa, who was older than him, and Abd ar-Rahman, set
out. Muhayyisa began to speak, as he had been at Khaybar. The
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to
him, "The greater first, the greater first," meaning in age. So
Huwayyisa spoke and then Muhayyisa spoke. The Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Either they pay your
companion's blood-money or we will declare war against them." The
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wrote
that to them and they wrote, "By Allah, we did not kill him!" The
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to
Huwayyisa, Muhayyisa, and Abd ar-Rahman, "Do you swear and claim the
blood of your companion?" They said, "No." He said, "Shall the jews
swear to you?" They said, "But they are not muslims." The Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave blood-money from
his own property, and sent them one hundred camels to their house.
Sahl added, "A red camel among them kicked me."
Muwatta Malik Book 44, Hadith 1
Ka`b demanded his debt back from Ibn Abi Hadrad in the Mosque and their voices grew louder till
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) heard them while he was in his house. He came out to them raising the curtain of his
room and addressed Ka`b, "O Ka`b!" Ka`b replied, "Labaik, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." (He said to him),
"Reduce your debt to one half," gesturing with his hand. Ka`b said, "I have done so, O Allah's
Apostle!" On that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to Ibn Abi Hadrad, "Get up and repay the debt, to him."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 44, Hadith 8
The deputation of 'Abd al-Qais came to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: This is the tribe of Rabi'ah, and the infidels of Mudar are between us and you. We are able to come to you only in the sacred month. So give a decisive command which we may follow ourselves and to which we call those at home behind us. He (the Prophet) said: I command you to observe four things, and forbade you four things: Belief in Allah. the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and he expresses one by folding his hand. Musadad's version has: Faith in Allah, and he explained to them: The testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, observance of prayer, payment of zakat, and your giving the filth of the booty. I forbid you the use of pumpkins, green jarrs, vessels smeared with pitch, and hollow stumps of palm-trees. Ibn 'Ubaid's version has word muqayyar (vessels smeared with pitch) instead of naqir (hollow stumps). Musaddad's version has naqir and muqayyar (pitch); he did not mention muzaffat (vessels smeared with pitch).
Abu Dawud said: The name of Abu Jamrah is Nasr bin 'Imran al-Duba'i.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 27, Hadith 24
When Khaibar was conquered, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was presented with a poisoned (roasted) sheep. Allah's
Apostle said, "Collect for me all the Jews present in this area." (When they were gathered) Allah's
Apostle said to them, "I am going to ask you about something; will you tell me the truth?" They
replied, "Yes, O Abal-Qasim!" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to them, "Who is your father?" They said, "Our
father is so-and-so." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "You have told a lie. for your father is so-and-so," They
said, "No doubt, you have said the truth and done the correct thing." He again said to them, "If I ask
you about something; will you tell me the truth?" They replied, "Yes, O Abal-Qasim! And if we
should tell a lie you will know it as you have known it regarding our father," Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then
asked, "Who are the people of the (Hell) Fire?" They replied, "We will remain in the (Hell) Fire for a
while and then you (Muslims) will replace us in it" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to them. ''You will abide in it
with ignominy. By Allah, we shall never replace you in it at all." Then he asked them again, "If I ask
you something, will you tell me the truth?" They replied, "Yes." He asked. "Have you put the poison
in this roasted sheep?" They replied, "Yes," He asked, "What made you do that?" They replied, "We
intended to learn if you were a liar in which case we would be relieved from you, and if you were a
prophet then it would not harm you."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 76, Hadith 89
“I have directed my face towards the One who has created the heavens and the earth, as a Hanif, and I am not of the idolaters. Indeed, my Salat, my sacrifice, my living, my dying, is for Allah, the Lord of all that exists, without partner, and with this have I been ordered and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the King, there is none worthy of worship except You. You are My Lord, and I am Your slave, I have wronged myself and I admit to my sin, so forgive me all my sins, verily, there is none who forgives sins but You, and guide me to the best of manners, none guides to the best of them except You, and turn away from me the evil of them, none can turn away from me the evil of them except You. Here I am in obedience to You, and in aiding Your cause, and the good, all of it is in Your Hands, and the evil is not attributed to You, I am reliant upon You and ever-turning towards You, Blessed are You and Exalted are You. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to you (Wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhī faṭaras-samāwāti wal-arḍa ḥanīfan wa mā ana min al-mushrikīn, inna ṣalātī wa nusukī wa maḥyāya wa mamātī lillāhi rabbil-`ālamīn, lā sharīka lahū wa bidhālika umirtu wa ana min al-muslimīn. My hearing, my sight, my bones, and my sinew are humbled to you (Allāhumma laka raka`tu wa bika āmantu wa laka aslamtu.
