Muhammad or `Abdullah bin Abu Al-Mujalid said, "Abdullah bin Shaddad and Abu Burda differed
regarding As-Salam, so they sent me to Ibn Abi `Aufa and I asked him about it. He replied, 'In the
lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), Abu Bakr and `Umar, we used to pay in advance the prices of wheat,
barley, dried grapes and dates to be delivered later. I also asked Ibn Abza and he, too, replied as
above.' "
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 35, Hadith 6
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "I am ruined!" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "What is the matter with you?"
He said, "I had sexual relation with my wife (while I was fasting) in Ramadan." The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
"Have you got enough to manumit a slave?" He said, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Can you fast for two
successive months?" The man said, "No." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Can you feed sixty poor persons?" The
man said, "No." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Sit down," and he sat down. Afterwards an 'Irq, i.e., a
big basket containing dates was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and the Prophet (ﷺ) said to him, "Take this and
give it in charity." The man said, "To poorer people than we?" On that, the Prophet (ﷺ) smiled till his
premolar teeth became visible, and then told him, "Feed your family with it." (See Hadith No. 157,
Vol 3)
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 84, Hadith 2
"I entered upon Aisha and said: 'Will you not tell me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' She said: 'When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), became seriously ill, he said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)" He said: "Put some water in a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then he came to us and said: "Have the people prayed?" We said: "No, they are waiting for you, 0 Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ)." He said: "Put some water in
a tub for me." We did that and he performed Ghusl, then he tried to get up but he fainted. Then for the third time he said the same thing. She said: The people were in the Masjid, waiting for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead the prayer. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent word to Abu Bakr, telling him to lead the people in prayer, so the messenger came to him and said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is telling you to lead the people in prayer." Abu Bakr was a tenderhearted man, he said: "0 'Umar. lead the
in prayer." But ('Umar) said: "You have more right to that." So Abu Bakr led them in prayer during those days. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) felt a little better, he came with
the help of two men, one of whom was Al-'Abbas, to pray Zuhr. When Abu Bakr saw him, he wanted to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gestured to him not to step back. He told them (the two men) to seat him beside Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr started to pray standing. The people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was praying sitting."'
"I ('Ubaidullah) entered upon Ibn Abbas and said 'Shall I not tell you what Aisha narrated to me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?' He said: 'Yes.' So I told him and he did not deny any of it, but he said: 'Did she tell you the name of the man who was with Al-'Abbas?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'That
was Ali, may Allah honor his face."'
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 10, Hadith 58
The people say that Abu Huraira narrates too many narrations. In fact Allah knows whether I say the
truth or not. They also ask, "Why do the emigrants and the Ansar not narrate as he does?" In fact, my
emigrant brethren were busy trading in the markets, and my Ansar brethren were busy with their
properties. I was a poor man keeping the company of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and was satisfied with what
filled my stomach. So, I used to be present while they (i.e. the emigrants and the Ansar) were absent,
and I used to remember while they forgot (the Hadith). One day the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever spreads
his sheet till I finish this statement of mine and then gathers it on his chest, will never forget anything
of my statement." So, I spread my covering sheet which was the only garment I had, till the Prophet (ﷺ)
finished his statement and then I gathered it over my chest. By Him Who had sent him (i.e. Allah's
Apostle) with the truth, since then I did not forget even a single word of that statement of his, until this
day of mine. By Allah, but for two verses in Allah's Book, I would never have related any narration
(from the Prophet). (These two verses are): "Verily! Those who conceal the clear signs and the
guidance which we have sent down .....(up to) the Merciful.' (2.159-160)
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 41, Hadith 28
Whenever the wind was stormy, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: O Allah! I ask Thee for what is good in it, and the good which it contains, and the good of that which it was sent for. I seek refuge with Thee from what is evil in it, what evil it contains, and the evil of that what it was sent for; and when there was a thunder and lightning in the sky, his colour underwent a change, and he went out and in, backwards and forwards; and when the rain came, he felt relieved, and I noticed that (the sign of relief) on his face. 'A'isha asked him (about it) and he said: It may be as the people of 'Ad said: When they saw a cloud formation coming to their valley they said:" It is a cloud which would give us rain" (Quran, xlvi. 24).
Sahih Muslim Book 9, Hadith 16
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said. "While I was sleeping, I saw myself (in a dream) performing Tawaf around the
Ka`ba. Behold, I saw a reddish-white man with lank hair, and water was dropping from his head. I
asked, "Who is this?' They replied, 'The son of Mary.' Then I turned my face to see another man with
a huge body, red complexion and curly hair and blind in one eye. His eye looked like a protruding out
grape. They said (to me), He is Ad-Dajjal." The Prophet (ﷺ) added, "The man he resembled most is Ibn
Qatan, a man from the tribe of Khuza`a. "
