Quran 6 : 43

If only they implored when our test afflicted them! Instead, their hearts were hardened, and the devil adorned their works in their eyes.

If only did they humble themselves when Our scourge overtook them! But their hearts hardened, and Satan made their deeds seem fair to them

If only they had implored when Our punishment came to them; but their hearts hardened, and the devil adorned for them what they used to do.

They should have submitted when the sufferings came but instead their hearts hardened, and Satan made their works appear attractive to them

If only, when Our calamity came upon them, they humbled themselves. But their hearts hardened, and Satan made their deeds appear good to them

If only they had learned humility when suffering came from Us! But no, their hearts became hard and Satan made their foul deeds alluring to them

if only, when Our might came upon them, they had been humble! But their hearts were hard, and Satan decked out fair to them what they were doing

If only they humbled themselves when Our scourge overtook them! But their hearts were hardened, and satan decorated to them what they were doing

So, if only, when our adversity came to them, they supplicated. But their cores hardened, and Satan prettified for them what they were working.

But when Our might came upon them, they didn’t humble themselves. But their hearts became hard, and Satan made their deeds seem pleasing to them.

If only, when Our violence falls upon them, they had been humble, but their heart was hard, and Satan made seemly to them all that they used to do

So why do they not humble themselves when Our adversity reaches them, but their hearts hardened and the devil made appealing to them what they did.

Why did they not humble themselves when We made them suffer? Instead, their hearts were hardened, and Satan made their misdeeds appealing to them.

So why did they not humble when Our suffering came to them? Instead, their hearts became hardened and Satan beautified for them what they were doing.

But when misfortune befell them from Us why did they not humble themselves? Their hearts had hardened and Satan had made their deeds seem fair to them

So why did they not humbly plead when Our punishment came to them? But their hearts were hardened and the devil made all their deeds appear good to them

Then why did they not, when Our punishment came to them, humble themselves? But their hearts hardened and the Satan made what they did, look fair to them

And do they not, when our violence falls upon them, humble themselves?- but their hearts were hard, and Satan made seemly to them that which they had done

And if only, when Our violence came upon them, they had been humble. - But their hearts were hard, and the devil beautified for them what they were doing.

Yet why did they not, when Our punishment came to them, humble themselves? But their hearts hardened and the devil made all that they did seem fair to them

When the misfortune fell on them, they did not humble themselves, but instead their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their bad deeds alluring to them.

Yet why did they not, when Our punishment came to them, humble themselves? But their hearts hardened and the Shaitan made what they did fair-seeming to them

Yet, when our trouble came upon them, they did not humble themselves; but their hearts were hardened, and Satan pre-arranged for them their course of conduct

If only, when Our disaster came on them, they had been humble! But their hearts were hardened and the devil made all that they used to do seem fair unto them

If only, when Our Might came upon them, they had humbled themselves. But rather their hearts hardened, and Satan made all they used to do seem fair unto them

Then why did they not submit when Our punishment came upon them? But their hearts were hardened, and Satan made things they were doing look attractive to them

Why did they not entreat when Our punishment overtook them! But their hearts had hardened, and Satan had made to seem decorous to them what they had been doing

If only they pleaded [with Allah] when Our adversity came upon them but rather their hearts grew hard and Satan made seemly unto them all that they used to do.

Why, then, when Our retribution came upon them, did they not humble themselves? Lo! Their hearts were hardened, and Satan beautified their evil deeds for them.

Why did they not humble themselves when Our punishment came to them? Because their hearts became hardened, and Satan made seem fair to them what they used to do.

When they received affliction from Us, why did they not learn humility? On the contrary, their hearts became hard, and Satan made their deeds appealing to them.

Why did they not submit themselves (to God) when Our torment struck them. Instead, their hearts were hardened and Satan made their evil deeds seem attractive to them

When the affliction decreed by Us befell them, they did not humble themselves, but rather their hearts hardened, for Satan had made all their doings seem fair to them

Then why not when came to them Our punishment they humbled themselves But became hardened their hearts and made fair-seeming to them the Shaitaan what they used to do

If only they had humbled themselves when Our violent force came upon them! However, their hearts were hard and Shaytan made what they were doing seem attractive to them

If only, when Our trial came upon them, they had invoked Us with humility! But their hearts grew hard and Satan decked out whatever they were doing as appealing to them

Why then, did they not supplicate in humility when a calamity from Us came upon them? Instead, their hearts were hardened and Satan adorned for them what they were doing

Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing

When the suffering reached them from Us, why then did they not learn virtue? On the contrary, their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their acts seem alluring to them

Why did they not then, when Our punishment overtook them, grow humble? (It was for the fact that) their hearts had hardened and satan had made their deeds seem fair to them

Why then did they not act submissive when Our violence came to them, but instead their hearts were hardened and Satan made whatever they were doing seem attractive to them?

Why, then, when Our punishment came upon them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts were hardened all the more and Satan made all that they did seem fair to them

yet when the misfortune decreed by Us befell them, they did not humble themselves, but rather their hearts grew hard, for Satan had made all their doings seem goodly to them

Why then did they not act submissive when Our punishment came to them, but instead their hearts were hardened and Satan made whatever they were doing seem attractive to them?

Why, then, when Our (divine) retribution came upon them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts were hardened, and ‘Satan’ made their evil deeds seem fair to them.

Why, then, when OUR punishment came upon them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts were hardened all the more and Satan made all that they did seem fair to them

Then, why when drew near them Our might, they lowered not themselves? Rather, their hearts became hard. And Satan made appear pleasing to them what they had been doing.

Then why did they not humble themselves, when distress from Us came to them? On the contrary, their hearts hardened and the devil made fair seeming to them, that which they did.

Then why they did not show humility when Our inflictment came to them? Rather their hearts became hardened, and the Satan made fair-seeming to them that which they had been doing

When the punishment reached them from Us, why did they not learn to be humble? (But) instead, their hearts became hard, and Satan made their (sinful) actions seem likable to them

If (only) as Our violence came to them, they had supplicated! But their hearts hardened and Ash-Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e., the Devil) adorned to them whatever they were doing

When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not believe with humility? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitan (Satan) made fairseeming to them that which they used to do

When the suffering reached them from us, why then did they not learn humility? On the contrary their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them

If only they had humbled themselves when Our wrath came to them! But their hearts hardened (their consciousness was locked) and Satan (their delusion) beautified their deeds to them.

Why did it not happen that when Our torment came upon them, they would have beseeched? But their hearts were hardened and the devil (Satan) made fair seeming to them their deeds in their eyes.

Why did they fail to (believe and) adopt humility when Our punishment struck them? On the contrary, their hearts grew (cold and) hard. Shaitan adorned and let their deeds seem adorable to them

Wherefore then did they not, when the affliction from us came upon them, humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and the Satan made fair-seeming unto them that which they were wont to do

So where it not for when Our might came to them, they became humble and humiliated themselves, and but their hearts/minds became cruel/merciless, and the devil decorated/beautified for them what they were making/doing

But, instead of being humble when Our Requital touched them, their selfish desire led their minds into rationalizing their actions. This is because their hearts had been hardened with arrogance and repeated rejection of the Truth (2:74), (5:13)

Then why did they not humble themselves and wail and moan when Our torment came upon them? But (the fact is that) their hearts became hardened, and Satan made those (sinful) acts that they used to perpetrate appear to them attractive and alluring

How come [you may ask] they did not come to their senses when they were going through such disasters? Satan made their style of lives the most pleasing to them [as much as American way of life is the most pleasant to the Americans] up to the point that their inner conscious became insensitive to the truth
