Quran 6 : 42

Indeed We sent to nations before thee, and We seized them with misery and hardship that haply they might be humble

We sent [word] to nations before you and seized them with suffering and hardship so that they might act submissively.

And We have sent others to nations before you. We then took them with adversity and hardship, perhaps they would implore.

Ere this we sent unto nations before thee, and we caught them in distress and trouble that haply they might humble themselves

Before you We sent forth to other nations, and then seized them with misery and hardship so that they might humble themselves

We sent [word] to nations before you and seized them with suffering and hardship so that they might act submissively.

We sent messengers to communities before you, and We seized them with hardship and distress, so they might humble themselves.

And certainly We sent to nations before you, then We seized them with distress and adversity that perhaps they might be humble.

We sent messengers to communities before you, and We afflicted them with suffering and hardship, that they may humble themselves

Before you We sent much to many nations. And We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity that they may experience virtue

We did send messengers to communities before you and put them to hardships and sufferings, so that they may supplicate in humility

And We already sent to communities before you, so We took them with the adversity and the bane, perhaps they may be supplicating.

And We sent (messengers) to communities before you, then took them with adversity and hardship so that they would humble themselves.

We have indeed sent (apostles) to many a people before you, and inflicted upon them hardships and afflictions so that they might submit

And indeed We sent [messengers] unto nations before you and We seized them with adversity and harm so that they may plead [with Allah].

We have sent (messengers) to communities before you, and we put them to the test through adversity and hardship, that they may implore.

Indeed, We sent (messengers) to many nations before you, and We gave the nations suffering and poverty that they may learn to be humble

And We had sent (messengers) to communities before you, then We afflicted them with distress and harm that they might humble themselves.

And indeed We sent Messengers to peoples before thee; then We afflicted them with poverty and adversity that they might humble themselves

And indeed We sent (messengers) to nations before thee then We seized them with distress and affliction that they might humble themselves

And indeed WE sent Messengers to peoples before thee; then WE afflicted them with poverty and adversity that they might humble themselves

And We have certainly sent (messengers) to communities before you, then We punished them with suffering and hardship so they may be humble.

Before thee We sent (messengers) to many nations, and We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity, that they might learn humility

And undoubtedly, We sent; Messengers towards communities before you then seized them with adversity and distress so that they might beseech.

Ere this We sent unto nations before you, and We sent them distress and adversity that per chance (or possibly) they might humble themselves

We sent forth apostles before you to other communities, and afflicted them with calamities and misfortunes that they might humble themselves

Verily We sent Ours Messengers to people before you, then We afflicted them with adversity and hardship so that they might humble themselves.

We sent Messengers to nations before you, and afflicted those nations with hardship and distress so that hopefully they would humble themselves

Verily We sent Ours ‘Messengers’ to people before you, then We afflicted them with adversity and hardship so that they might humble themselves.

We have indeed sent messengers unto communities before thee, and We seized them with misfortune and hardship, that they might humble themselves

And certainly We sent (Messengers) to nations from before you then We seized them with adversity and hardship so that they may humble themselves

We have sent already unto peoples that were before thee, and We visited them with tribulation and adversity, in order that they might grow humble

And certainly We sent (messengers) to nations before you then We seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves

Surely, We did send Messengers to nations before you (O Muhammad). We seized them with misfortune and hardship, so that they might humble themselves.

We have certainly sent [apostles] to nations before you, then We seized them with stress and distress so that they might entreat [Us]

Indeed, We have disclosed (Rasuls) to communities before you... And afflicted them with suffering and ailments so they may humble themselves and pray.

And assuredly We sent apostles unto communities before thee; then We laid hold of them with adversity and distress, that haply they may humble themselves

We had sent (Our guidance) to the nations who lived before you and afflicted them with distress and adversity so that they might submit themselves (to God)

We sent Our Messengers unto people before your time [Prophet] and afflicted their people with misfortune and hardship so that they might humble themselves.

We sent messengers before you [Prophet] to many communities and afflicted their people with suffering and hardships, so that they could learn humility

And indeed We have already sent to nations even before you; so We took them (to task) with misery and tribulation, that possibly they would supplicate to (Us)

We sent messengers before you [Prophet] to many communities and afflicted their people with suffering and hardship, so that they might humble themselves

Already have we sent apostles to nations that were before thee, and we laid hold on them with troubles and with straits in order that they might humble themselves

Before you [Prophet Muhammed], We sent [messengers] to many nations. We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity in order that they may learn humility.

We sent messengers to many communities before you, and put those communities through sufferings and hardships so that they might submit to Allah

And, indeed, We sent Our messages unto people before thy time, [O Prophet,] and visited them with misfortune and hardship so that they might humble themselves

And verily, We sent (Messengers) to the nations before you. Then We involved them in poverty and disease so that they may (submit to Al-Kitab and) show humility

We had certainly sent (messengers) to many nations before you. We inflicted those nations with adversity and suffering, so that they might (believe and) adopt humility

And certainly We did send down Messengers and Messages to peoples before you. We then seized them with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves

And We did indeed send Messengers to other nations before you and then We seized those nations with misfortune and hardship so that they might humble themselves (before Us)

And We had sent to nations from before you, so We took/punished them with the misery/hardship/fear and the calamity, maybe they become humble and humiliate themselves (to God)

And, certainly, We sent to communities that were before thee. Then, We took them with desolation and tribulation so that perhaps they will lower themselves to Us.

And We have indeed sent Noble Messengers towards the nations that were before you - We therefore seized them with hardship and adversity so that, in some way, they may humbly plead

Indeed, We have sent messengers before you ˹O Prophet˺ to other people who We put through suffering and adversity ˹for their denial˺, so perhaps they would be humbled.

And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]

And We did indeed send Messengers to the communities before you, and We seized those (communities) with trials and tribulations so that they might invoke Us with humility (seeking the truth and forgiveness)

Indeed, We sent Messengers to many communities before you. Then We seized them with scarcity and distress (due to their disobedience and defiance), so that they might beseech (with submissiveness and humility)

Verily, We sent (Messengers) to many nations before you (O Muhammad SAW). And We seized them with extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss in health with calamities so that they might believe with humility

We have already sent (Messengers) towards the communities before you, then (on their rejecting the Messengers) We afflicted them with destitution, calamities and adversities so that they might become humble (before Us)

We sent Messengers to nations before you. (They compassionately advised their people that the Supreme Law is operative on the earth, as it is in the heavens). When those nations violated Our Laws in their societies, they had to face the consequences. They should have become humble and taken corrective action right away

There were other prophets sent to many other nations [such as Moses to the Egyptians.] I afflicted them with many misfortunes [such as nine disasters that the Egyptians had to go through] so that they may choose to believe and approach God with the utmost humility [by bowing down and prostrating before Him.]
