They have taken their oaths (as) a cover, so they hinder from (the) way (of) Allah, so for them (is) a punishment humiliating.


58:16 Arabic

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ

58:16 Transliteration

Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatan fasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi falahum AAathabun muheenun

They used their oaths as a means of repelling from the path of God. Consequently, they have incurred a shameful retribution
