Quran 53 : 61

Making merry still

while you make merry

While you make merry

And you are sporting.

And you are stuck up?

Why do you pay no heed

Lost in your frivolity

Just amusing yourselves

treating life as a game?

while you are negligent?

And you are lost in play

And that ye are triflers

The near Event draw nigh

Indulging in pleasantries

while you are thoughtless

While ye amuse yourselves

while you remain heedless?

And ye are behaving proudly

While you are merry-making.

While you amuse yourselves?

(While) you amuse yourselves

Wasting your time in vanities

Wasting your time in vanities

While you amuse (yourselves)

Wasting your time in vanities

You are careless and ignorant.

While you are proudly sporting

Are you insisting on your ways?

And you are carelessly amusing?

And you are proudly indifferent?

Will you remain proudly heedless

And you are indulging yourselves?

[Will you] indulge in vanities?

and ye divert yourselves the while

while you hold your heads so high!

indulging in carelessly idle games

while you are engaged in vain play

while you hold your heads so high!

Haughtily, you hold your heads high

While you are indulging in vanities

and divert yourselves all the while

while persisting in heedlessness?

Wasting your time in useless things

While you are indulging in varieties

You amuse yourselves in heedlessness!

spending your time in idle diversions

a while you stand with head held high

While you are lost in your playfulness?

And you are astonished singing/arrogant

And you remain proudly heedless and haughty

and you are those who remain proudly heedless

Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment

While you are indulging in fun and amusement?

While you are indulging in fun and amusement?

And you remain heedlessly engrossed in merriment!

Moreover entertain yourselves (with fun and games)

Whilst you are busy playing a game (of negligence)

while you are ones who pass life in enjoyment?

You are wasting your precious life in pastime and amusements.

while you are involved in vanities (being heedless of your duty)?

Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.)
