Quran 37 : 141

He gambled and lost

He gambled and lost.

and cast lots and lost.

cast lots, and was condemned

but they cast lots, and he lost,

They cast lots, he suffered defeat

He cast lots, and he was condemned

cast lots, and was among the losers

And lots were cast, and he was doomed

Then after drawing lots was defeated.

and cast lots, and was of the rebutted

Then he drew lots and was of the losers

And cast lots and was of the pushed ones.

and he cast lots and was of those who lost

So, he bet, so he was from the compellers.

gambled and was one of those who lost out.

He rebelled and thus, he joined the losers.

Then he drew lots, but was of those rejected

was one of those who lost out in drawn lots.

And then drew lots and was of those rejected

Then he cast lots. Yet he was of the rebutted

He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned

Then he drew lots, and he was among the losers.

And he was guilty, so he became among the losers.

Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned

So he shared with others but was of those cast away

He had cast an arrow and missed the mark. (Untimely action.

So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off

And then he (agreed to) cast lots, and he was one of those who lost

as a result he slipped, so he became of those who have fallen down

He cast lots with them and he had been of the ones who are refuted.

So he drew lots with (gambled) , so he was from the annulled/slipped

and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast)

Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea

then drew lots but was among those who were slipped off (from the ship),

and those who were on board cast lots among themselves, and he was condemned

And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard)

He cast lots [with the other seafarers], and he was condemned [and cast into the sea].

And then he (Jonas) embarked the ship with others but was one of those thrown overboard (into the sea).

and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water

Then he participated in drawing lots (to offload one of the passengers) and was the one who was defeated

(Jonah) drew lots (made a choice) and was among those whose proof was invalidated (his choice led him astray)...

(To save the ship) he agreed to take part in the casting of the lots _ and lost. (Hence, he was thrown overboard)

[Due to the overweight, they had to throw some people out.] He agreed to participate in the casting of lots and lost

Then ˹to save it from sinking,˺ he drew straws ˹with other passengers˺. He lost ˹and was thrown overboard˺.

Then he (agreed to foretell fortunes and) cast lots, (and he was blamed for the ships bad weather) and he was a loser, punished (and thrown in the sea)

Then (when it was caught into a whirlpool) they cast lots, and (in the draws) he came to be the loser (i.e., his name was drawn and those in the boat cast him overboard into the river)

So he was with those (crew) who cast lots (on board of the ill-fated ship, and his name was among those who were to be thrown overboard in order to keep the ship light and well-balanced on account of the storm) and so he was (also) of those who were cast off (in the sea)
