Quran 3 : 166

What transpired on the day the two armies met was, by God’s decree, to test the believers.

What hit you the day the two armies met was by the permission of Allah, so that He might know the believer

And what befell you the day the two armies met, was by God's permission; that He might know the believers,

And that which befell you on the day the two hosts met was by God’s Leave, and that He may know the believers

What befell you on the day the two armies clashed was with God's permission; that He may know the believers

And what you suffered on the day the two hosts met was with the permission of God, and to let the believers know.

And what visited you, the day the two hosts encountered, was by God's leave, and that He might know the believers

The adversity you suffered on the day the two armies met was by Allah´s leave, so He may test the believers

And what befell you the day when the two armies met, it was by God's permission; that He might know the believers

What assailed you on the day the two armies met was by Allah´s permission, so that He would know the muminun,

What you suffered on the day the two armies had met was by God's dispensation, so that He may distinguish the faithful

What happened to you that day when the two armies met happened with Allah’s permission, and to mark out the believers,

What afflicted you the day the two armies clashed was in accordance with GOD's will, and to distinguish the believers.

What ye suffered on the day the two armies Met, was with the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers,

And the misfortune which befell you when the two armies met was ordained by God, so that He might know the true believer

And that which befell you on the day whereon the two hosts met was by Allah's leave, and that he might know the believers

What befell you on the day when the two hosts met, was by Allah’s permission, so that He may ascertain the faithful

What you suffered on the day the two armies met was by the permission of God, in order that He might challenge the believers

And what befell you on the day the two armies met, was with Allah's permission, that He might know (mark out) the believers,

That which befell you, on the day when the two armies met, was by permission of Allah; that He might know the true believers

And whatever smote you the day two groups met: so (it is) with Allah’s permission and so that He may know the Believers

What afflicted you on the day the two troops met was with the permission of Allah and in order for Him to know the believers.

And what befell you the day when the two armies met, it was by Allah´s permission; that He might know the true believers

And that which befell you on the day when the two armies met was by Allah’s permission, that He might know the believers

And what struck/hit you (on the) day the two groups/gatherings met , so (it is) with God's permission, and to know the believers

What befell you on the day when the two hosts met was by the leave of Allah, and in order that He might mark out those who believ

And what befell you on the day when the two armies met (at Ohud) was with Allah's knowledge, and that He might know the believers

Whatever you suffered on the day when the two troops faced each other was by the will of Allah, and in order to know the believers

And what inflicted you on the day when the two gatherings met, so it was with Allah’s permission; and He would know the believers.

Whatever happened to you on the day when both troops clashed, occurred with God´s permission, so He might recognize believers

And what struck you on the day the two armies met was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers

So what you suffered on the day the two armies met was by Allah’s Will, so that He might distinguish the ˹true˺ believers

And that calamity which befell you on the day the two armies had met was by Allah's leave, and thus He might make known the believers.

So what struck you on the day when the two armies met was by the will of Allâh so that He might identify the ones who live by Faith

What befell you on the day when the two hosts met (in battle) was by God’s leave, and that He might mark out the (true) believers

And so, what befell you, on the day when the two armies met, was with Allah's leave, and in order that He did distinguish the believers

What struck you on the day when the two armies met was by the permission of Allâh so that He may identify the ‘Monotheistic Believers’,

And what afflicted you, the day the two gatherings encountered, was then by the permission of Allah and that He might know the believers

What befell you, when the two armies confronted each other, was by the permission of God so that He would know who were the true believer

What befalls you on the day (the battle of Uhud) when 2 armies met, was by the permission of Allah in order that He might test the believers

What happened to you on the day when two armies met in battle happened by Allah’s permission. That is so He could distinguish the believers…

And what struck you (on the) day (when) met the two hosts (was) by (the) permission (of) Allah and that He (might) make evident the believers

And what happened unto you, on the day whereon the two armies met, was certainly by the permission of God; and that he might know the faithful

What happened to you on the day when the two groups met was according to God's will, in order to give believers a chance to prove their faith,

And the calamity that struck you on the day the two armies met, was by Allah’s command - and in order that He may make known the believers

the misfortune which befell you on the day when the two armies met happened by God's leave, so that He might mark out the [true] believer

And what lit on you on a day when the two multitudes met one another was with the permission of God that He would know the ones who believe

And all that befell you on the day when the two hosts met [in battle] happened by Allah's leave and so that He might mark out the [true] believers,

and all that befell you on the day when the two hosts met in battle happened by God's leave, so that He might mark out the [true] believers

And that which befell you, on the day when the two host met, was by ALLAH's command; and this was so that he might cause the believers to be distinguished

And, whatever (loss) you suffered on the day (when) the two armies met, was with the permission of Allah, in order that He might test the believers—

If you suffered when the two armies clashed, it happened according to Allah's Laws. He made it a test for the believers to know their strength and weakness

And what happened to you on the day when the two forces/armies encountered (in battle of Ohod) was with God’s permission and in order to know the believers,

And that which befell you on the day when the two armies met (at Uhud), was so by the leave of Allah, and (it happened thus) so that He might distinguish the believers

And what you suffered (of the disaster) on the day (of the battle of Uhud when) the two armies met, was by the leave of Allah, in order that He might test the believers

what befell you on the day the two armies met in battle happened with God’s permission and in order for Him to see who were the true believers and who were the hypocrites who

And the agony that hurt you on the day when the two armies clashed with each other came about (only) by Allah’s command. And (this happened) so that Allah establishes the identity of the believers

What transpired at the battle of the two communities (the Battle of Uhud) was so that your essence, the Names of Allah, becomes apparent on the believers, and it becomes evident who each person (really) is.

Whatever happened to you on the day when both troops clashed [in the Battle of Uhud], occurred with Allah (God)'s permission, so He will recognize believers [based on their actions not his previous knowledge]

What happened to you in [the confusion of] the clash between two armies [which led to your defeat in the battle of Ohud] was with the permission of God, and as a trial, in order to expose the hypocrites [Muslim by name.]

And that which befel you on the day when the armies met, was certainly by the will of God, and that he might know the faithful, and that he might know the hypocrites! And when the word was "Advance, fight on the path of God, or drive back the foe," - they said, "Had we known how to fight, we would have followed you." Nearer were some of them on that day to unbelief, than to faith
