Therefore, the torment overtook them.

for the punishment did come down them. There is certainly a Sign in that, yet most of them are not muminun.

So the punishment seized them, there is certainly a sign in that, but the majority of them does not believe.

So the suffering struck them! Indeed, there is a sign – a lesson – in this... Most of them have not believed!

Then the torment took them (away). Surely in that is indeed a sign, and in no way were most of them believers

So the torture punished/took them, that in that (is) an evidence/sign (E) , and most of them were not believing

So the divine retribution overtook them. Surely, in this there is a Sign. Yet most of them don’t live by Faith.

So, the Retribution seized them. Herein is indeed a sign, yet most people are not believers (in the Law of Requital)

So the torment seized them. Surely, in this (incident), there is a great sign and most of them were not the believers

For the punishment which had been threatened overtook them. Verily herein was a sign; but the greater part of them did not believe

Consequently (the threatened) punishment overtook them. Behold! there is a remarkably great sign in this (episode); yet most of them would not be believers

For the (shocking) punishment seized them. Surely in that (which took place between Salih and his people) there is a sign (a great, important lesson). Most of them were not believers

Thus, divine retribution overtook them. In (devastating ‘Thamūd’) is definitely a lesson, yet most of them (who heard about the dreadful end of ‘Thamūd’) are not inclined to believe ( in Allâh) .

for the suffering [predicted by Salih,] befell them [then and there]. In this [story], behold, there is a message [unto men], even though most of them will not believe [in it]
