Quran 25 : 40
And verily, they have come upon the town which was showered (with) a rain (of) evil. Then do not they [were] see it? Nay, they are not expecting Resurrection.
وَلَقَدْ

كَانُوا۟

Lā
يَرْجُونَ
Yarjūna
نُشُورًا
Nushūrana
And for everyone We had set forth examples and everyone We destroyed (with a total) destruction.
And indeed they pass by the town wherein was rained an evil rain. Do they not see it? Nay, they hope not to be raised again
They passed by the town that was drenched by the terrible downpour. Didn’t they see it? Yet, they don’t expect resurrection.
And they came upon the city that was drenched by the terrible rain. Did they not see it? But they do not expect resurrection
They have come to the town on which an evil rain poured down. Had they not seen it? Indeed they had not expected to be reborn.
They have come to the town on which an evil rain poured down. Had they not seen it? Indeed they had not expected to be reborn.
And they have come across the town on which an evil rain fell - did they not see it? But they did not hope for the resurrection.
They have passed by the city that was struck by the terrible rain. Haven’t they seen it? They hope not to be brought back to life
And indeed they passed by the town upon which fell the evil rain. Have they not seen it? Nay, but they hope not for a resurrection
Surely they have come by the city that was rained on by an evil rain; what, have they not seen it? Nay, but they look for no upraising
Andthey have come upon the town that was showered with a miserable shower. Did they not see it? No, they do not expect any resurrection
Surely they have come past the city which was rained on with an evil rain; have they not seen it? - Nay, they do not hope to be raised up.
Certainly they must have passed the town on which an evil shower was rained. Have they not seen it? Rather they did not expect resurrection
They must surely have come upon the town that was showered with a horrible rain; have they not seen it? But they do not expect resurrection.
And assuredly they have gone by the township whereon was rained the evil rain. Are they not wont to see it? Aye! they expect not Resurrection
They themselves have come across the city which was rained on by an evil rain. Did they not then see it? But they do not expect to rise again.
Indeed they must have come upon the town on which an evil rain had poured down. Did they not see it? Yet they have no faith in the Resurrection
And they have certainly come upon the town that the bad rain was rained on. Did they not use to see it? No, but they do not expect resurrection.
Why, they have come past the cities which were rained on with an evil rain; have they not seen them?- nay, they do not hope to be raised up again
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection
And these Meccans must have visited the town whereon was rained an evil rain. Have they not seen it? Nay, they expect not to be raised after death
They have surely passed by the village which was rained upon by evil rain (of stones); what, have they never seen it? No, they look for no resurrection
And certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? Nay! they did not hope to be raised again
And they surely must have come upon the town on which was rained a woeful rain. Did they not use to see it? Nay! They did not use to expect resurrection.
And verily they have come upon the town which was showered (with) a rain (of) evil Then do not they [were] see it Nay they are not expecting Resurrection
They have surely passed by the town upon which was sent the most wretched rain. Did they not see it (coming)? But they did not expect the life after death
They must surely have passed by the city which was destroyed by the fatal rain: have they never seen its ruins? Yet have they no faith in the Resurrection
And indeed they have visited the township upon which had rained a harmful rain; so were they not seeing it? In fact, they never expected to be raised again
Surely (the unbelievers) have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of destruction. Did they not see it? But they do not fear the resurrection.
And indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay, but they hope for no resurrection
They have passed by the community that was showered with a miserable shower (Sodom). Did they not see it? The fact is, they never believed in resurrection.
And necessarily, they have already visited the town where on was rained an evil rain. Had they not seen it? Nay, but they had no hope to be raised up alive.
And already they came upon the city that it rained the bad rain. So, had they not seen it? Nay, but they are not expecting a Propagation (Raising the dead).
Oft are this have the unbelieving Meccans passed by the city on which was rained a fatal rain. What! Have they not seen it? Yet have they no hope of a resurrection
They must have surely passed by the town on which We had rained the terrible rain of ruin. How could they not have seen it? Still they do not dread the Resurrection
The disbelievers have passed by the towns (of Sodom & Gomorrah) which were ruined by the miserable shower. They see it; yet they do not believe in the Hereafter
The Koreish have passed frequently near the city which was rained on by a fatal rain: Have they not seen where it once stood? Yet have they not dreaded the resurrection
Surely, these people have passed by that habitation on which was rained an evil rain: have they not seen its ruins? But they do not expect another life in the Hereafter
And the unbelievers indeed must have passed by the town which rained a shower of harm. Did they not then see it with their own eyes? But they do not fear the resurrection
And they must have certainly come upon the town/village on which had rained down an evil rain. How could they not have seen it? Yet they have no faith in the Resurrection
These disbelievers must have passed by the town that was destroyed by the terrible rain––did they not see it? Yet they do not expect to be raised from the dead
Indeed, they have come past the cities which were rained on with an evil rain; have they not seen them? Nay, but they fear not the Resurrection (or hope not for resurrection)
Verily they have passed by the township on which was showered with the rain of evil. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay, they have no expectation of being resurrected.
And, certainly, they approached the town where the reprehensible rain was rained down on them. Is it that they see it not? Nay! They had been not hoping for any rising up.
Our Messengers came into the town which was struck by a fatal rain. Did they (unbelievers), not see what had happened to this town? In fact, they had no faith in the Resurrection
And the (Unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection
And verily they have passed by the town on which was showered with the rain of evil. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay! But they have no expectation of being resurrected.
And indeed they already came up to the town which was rained on by a woeful rain. Have they then not seen it? No indeed, (but) they did not hope for an uprising (i.e., resurrection)
And truly, the (disbelievers) must have passed by the town on which was rained by a shower of evil: Then did they not see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection
And they had come/passed by on (to) the village/urban city which was rained the fire's/harm's rain, where they not being seeing it? But they were not hoping/expecting revival/resurrection
Indeed they (the pagans of Makkah) have passed by the town that was afflicted by an evil rain sent down to it. So, have they not been seeing it? Rather, they do not believe in Resurrection
And surely, indeed these have travelled through the town whereon was rained an evil rain. Have they not been that they may notice it? Nay! They had not been hoping for the resurrection (after death)
They have certainly passed by the city ˹of Sodom˺, which had been showered with a dreadful rain ˹of stones˺. Have they not seen its ruins? But they do not expect to be resurrected.
Surely they came upon the city upon which We showered wrath (the destroyed city of the people of Lot)... Did they not see it? No! They did not expect to be resurrected and returned to their essence after death!
And indeed they (disbelievers) have passed by the town (of Prophet Lot) on which the evil rain was rained. Did they not see it (with their own eyes)? But they were not used to expect (believed) any Resurrection.
And indeed they have passed by the town (of Prophet Lout (Lot)) on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay ! But they used not to expect for any resurrection
And certainly these (disbelievers) have passed by (the remains of) that town on which was showered a disastrous rain (of stones). Did they not see that (ruined town)? But the truth is that they do not expect to be raised up (after death)
And they [who now deny Our messages] must surely have come across that town which was rained upon by a rain of evil: have they, then, never beheld it [with their minds eye]? But nay, they would not believe in resurrection
And indeed they have passed by the township (Sodom) that was rained with a miserable rain. Have they never seen it with eyes of the heart? But nay, they expect not to be raised again. (They do not believe in the Law of Requital and deem that such things happen only by chance)
And they (in Makkah who now persist in unbelief) have surely come across the land (of the Prophet Lot) upon which was rained a rain of evil. Have they, then, never seen it (with an eye to take heed)? No, they have no expectation of being raised after death (and so they pay no heed to any warning)
And certainly these (Makkan disbelievers) pass by the (ruined) township (of Sodom situated on the highway between Arabia and Syria) which suffered a painful rain (of stones). Have they not been seeing (the ruins of) this (township of the people of Lot). Why, they have been, (but the reason behind their refusal is) they do not (believe and) expect not to be resurrected (after death and to be called to account for their deeds)
