Quran 21 : 87

And We admitted them into Our mercy, they were certainly of the righteous ones.

And Jonah, when he stormed out in fury, thinking We had no power over him. Then he called out in the darkness, “There is no god but You! Glory be to You! Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers!”

And Dhul Nun -- when he went forth enraged and thought that We would have no power over him; then he called out in the darkness, 'There is no god but Thou. Glory be to Thee! I have done evil.

And ThulNun (Prophet Jonah), he went away in anger thinking We had no power over him. But in the darkness he cried: 'There is no god except You.Exaltations to You! I was among the harmdoers.

And of Dhūl-Nūn:³ how he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But in the darkness he cried: ‘There is no god but You. Glory be to You! I have done wrong

And Jonah, when he stormed out in fury, thinking We had no power over him. But then He cried out in the darkness, 'There is no god but You! Glory to You! I was one of the wrongdoers!'

[Remember] the man of the fish [Jonah]! When he left angrily, he thought that We had no power over him. In depths of darkness, he cried, “No god is there but You! Glory to You! I was wrong.”

And Dhu 'l Nun, when he went in anger and thought that We had no power over him; and He cried out in the darkness, 'There is no god except You, Glory be to You. Indeed, I was of the wrongdoers.'

And the one in the fish (Jonah), when he went angrily and thought that We had no control over him, then he called in the dark that there is no god but You, glorified are You, I was of the wrongdoers.

And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in punishment. He imagined that We had no power over him, but he cried through the depths of darkness, “There is no god but You, glory to You, I was indeed wrong.

And Dhu 'nnun, when he went away in wrath and thought that we had no power over him; and he cried out in the darkness, ' There is no god but Thou, celebrated be Thy praise! Verily, I was of the evildoers!

Andthe one with 'N,' when he went off in anger, and he thought that We would not be able to take him. Then he called out in the darkness: "There is no god except You! Glory be to You, I was of the wicked!"

Remember the man in the whale [Jonah] when he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But he cried out in the darkness, There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! I was indeed wrong

And Dhu-l-Nun, when he went away in wrath, and he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no God but Thou, glory be to Thee! Surely I am of the sufferers of loss

Remember Dhan-Nun, when he left Nineveh angrily thinking We wouldn’t restrain or question him. He prayed in the depths of darkness: “There is no god except You. Glory be to You; I was wrong.”

And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

And remember the man with the whale,when he went off angrily, thinking We could not restrict him, but then he cried out in the deep darkness, ‘There is no God but You, glory be to You, I was wrong.’

And Jonah, when he went out in fury, so he thinks that We will not destiny upon him. So, he called out in the darkness, “Surely there is no God except You! Glorified are You! Surely I was among the oppressors!”

And (mention) Dhu'n-Nun, when he went off in anger and deemed that We had no power over him, but he cried out in the darkness, saying: There is no Allah save Thee. Be Thou Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer

And [remember] Dhu’l-Nun, when he went away in anger, and thought We had no power over him. Then he cried out in the darkness, “There is no god but Thee! Glory be to Thee! Truly I have been among the wrongdoers.

And Dhu´n-Nun when he left in anger and thought We would not punish him. He called out in the pitch darkness: ´There is no god but You! Glory be to You! Truly I have been one of the wrongdoers.´

Dhun Nun went away in anger and thought that We would never have power over him, but in darkness he cried, "Lord, You are the Only God whom I glorify. I have certainly done wrong to myself (so forgive me)"

And Zun-nun! recall what time he departed in anger and imagined that We could not straiten him, then he cried in the darknesses, that: there is no god but Thou! hallowed be Thou! verily I have been of the wrong-doers

And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss

And Dhun-Nun And Dhun-Nun when he went (while) angry and thought that never We would decree upon him Then he called in the darkness(es) that (There is) no god except You Glory be to You Indeed, [I] I am of the wrongdoers

And the Man in the Whale (Jonah) when he stormed off angrily, and thought We would never have any power over him; yet he cried out in the darkness: "There is no deity except You! Glory be to You! I have been a wrongdoer."

And Dhoulnoun; when he went on his way in anger, and thought that we had no power over him. But in the darkness he cried "There is no God but thou: Glory be unto Thee! Verily, I have been one of the evil doers:"

And the Man in the Whale when he stormed off angrily, and thought We would never have any power over him; yet he cried out in the darkness: "There is no deity except You! Glory be to You! I have been a wrongdoer."

And [Jonah] Zun-nun, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not punish him. Then he called out from the deep darkness, "There is no God except You; May You be exalted in Your glory. I have been among the unjust."

And remember Zunnoon when he departed in anger, he imagined that We would not cause him any distress and then he cried out in the darkness, there is none to be worshipped but You, Glory is to You, undoubtedly, I did improper act.

And (remember) Jonah, when he departed in anger and thought that We shall not punish him! Then he cried in the darkness (saying): “There is no one worthy of worship but You, You are glorified. Truly, I have been from the wrongdoers.”

And the Man of the Fish, when he left in a rage, thinking that We would not put him to hardship. Then he cried out in the darkness, ‘There is no god except You! You are immaculate! I have indeed been among the wrongdoers!’

And remember Dhu'lnun, when he departed in wrath, and thought that We could not exercise our power over him. And he cried out in the darkness, saying, there is no God, besides Thee: Praise be unto Thee! Verily I have been one of the unjust

And (remember) Dhu'n-Noon (Jonah of the fish), when he went away in anger and imagined We will not test him (with distress). Then he called out from the darkness: "There is no god other than You. All glory to You; surely I was a sinner

And We bestowed Our favour upon Dhu al-Nun. Recall, when he went forth enraged, thinking We have no power to take him to task. Eventually he cried out in the darkness:" There is no god but You. Glory be to You! I have done wrong."

And remember Dhu'l-Nhn, when he went away in anger, and he was sure in his mind that WE would not cause him distress and he cried out in the midst of his afflictions: `There is no god but Thou, Holy art Thou. I have indeed been of the wrongdoers.

And Jonah, when he went as one who is enraged, and thought that We would never have power over him. And, then, he cried out through the shadows that: There is no god, but Thou! Glory be to Thee! Truly, I had been of the ones who are unjust.

And remember Zun-nun (the man of the Whale, Jonah), when he went away in wrath and thought that We had no power over him; but he cried out in the darkness, "There is no God but Thou, celebrated be Thy praise! Verily, I was of the wrong!"

And the man of the fish — when he went away in anger, thinking We would not punish him! Then, among the darknesses (of the fish belly), he cried, "There is no god but You, glorified You are! I have indeed been of those who do wrong."

And (remember) Zun-nun (man of the fish, Jonah), when he left in anger, and he assumed that We will never be hard on him. Then he cried out from the darkness that there is no god except You, You are flawless (glory to You), indeed I was of the wrongdoers.

As for Jonah, he left his mission in anger, not thinking that I may punish him. From the midst of the darkness then, he prayed: “O the One beside Whom there is no other god, be you glorified, I have been one of those unjust creatures of yours.”

And zun-noon (the man of the whale) when he went in anger he thought that We will never constrict him so he called from the darknesses saying that, “There is no deity except You. Glory be unto You. Truly I was of those who have done wrong to their own soul.”

And (owner of) the whale/fish when he went away angrily, so he thought/assumed that We will never/not become capable on him, so he called/cried in the darknesses: "That (there is) no God except You, Your praise/glory, that I was from the unjust/oppressive."

And (remember) Dhunnun (the man of the fish, namely Yunus X), when he walked away in anger and thought that We would never put him to trouble. Then, he called (Us) in depths of darkness saying, .There is no god but You. Pure are You. Indeed I was among the wrongdoers

And remember the one (who is well known because) of the fish. He left his town in exasperation, and he thought that We would fail to take him to task. Eventually, from the darkness he called, "There is no god but You. Exalted are You! Surely I was the offender!"

And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

And Thun-Nun, (Jonah) as he went away angered. So he surmised that We should never have mastery over him. Then he called out in the darkness (Literally: darkenesses) (saying), "There is no god except You. All Extolment be to You! Surely, I have been of the unjust."

(Mention) Dhū’l-Nūn, (‘Jonah’), when he departed in anger and thought that We had no power over him. But eventually he called out in (the depths of) darkness (saying): “There is no God but You, glory be to You! Certainly I am one of those who are grossly unfair and morally wrong.”

AND [remember] him of the great fish when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him! But then heeded out in the deep darkness [of his distress]: “There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Verily, I have done wrong!”

And remember Zun-Noon, * when he left in anger, assuming that We would not restrict him - he therefore called out in the realms of darkness, saying, "There is no God except You, Purity is to You; I have indeed committed a lapse." (* Prophet Yunus - peace and blessings upon him

And ˹remember˺ when the Man of the Whale stormed off ˹from his city˺ in a rage, thinking We would not restrain him. Then in the ˹veils of˺ darkness he cried out, “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except You. Glory be to You! I have certainly done wrong.”

And Zan-Noon (Jonah, "the one with an `N' in his name"), abandoned his mission in protest, thinking that we could not control him. He ended up imploring from the darkness (of the big fish's belly): "There is no god other than You. Be You glorified. I have committed a gross sin."

And Jonah... Remember how he went away in anger thinking We would not try him! Then he cried out in darkness, “There is no deity-god (there is no ‘me’) only You (the Names comprising my essential reality)! I glorify You (through my function that manifests your Names)! Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”

And (mention) Dhū’l-Nūn (Jonah) when he went off in rage, thinking that We had no power over him. But he called out in the darkness: “There is no other God beside You. Glory Be To You! I was indeed of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims”.

And (remember) Zun-nun (Jonah or Yunus, see 7.139), when he left in anger: And he imagined that We had no power to punish him! But he cried through the depths of darkness (after being swallowed by a fish), by saying: "There is no god except You: Glory to You (Pure and Pristine): Truly, I was one of the wrongdoers!"

And (We showed Our favours to) Dhul-Nun (Jonah). Behold! he left in anger (his people for the sake of God). He was sure in his mind that We would not cause him any distress. (But when We did,) he cried out in the midst of afflictions, `There is no other God but you. Holy are You. I have indeed been of those hard pressed with difficulties and distress.

And (remember) Zun-Nun (Yunus) when he moved away (from his nation) as one who is in anger, and he felt sure that We shall never assess the situation against him (i.e., against his decision). So he cried out in the darknesses (of the mammal’s belly) that: “There is no god except You. Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of those who are wrong in decision.”

And (remember) Dhan-Noon (Jonah), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamites which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): La ilaha illa Anta (none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)), Glorified (and Exalted) are You (above all that (evil) they associate with You). Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers."

And (also remember) Dhu al-Nun (the Prophet whom the fish swallowed) when he went away enraged (at his people). So he thought that We would not cause him any distress (during that journey). Then he cried out (entangled) in (the layers of) the darkness (of night, under the sea and in the fish belly): ‘There is no God except You. Glory be to You! Surely, I was of those who wrong (their souls).

And Zan-Noon, he of the great fish (Jonah of Ninevah), (disappointed with their persistent rejection) left his people in anger. He thought that since he was not violating any Command, We would not bring him to task. Then from the darkness of error he called, "There is no god but You! Limitless is Your Glory! Verily, I have done wrong!" (Jonah, in his best judgment, had migrated before the Divine Decree came (37:139), (68:48))

And (also mention) Dhu’n-Nun (Jonah). He departed in anger (from his people, who persistently disbelieved and paid no attention to his warnings), and he was certain that We would never straiten (his life for) him. But eventually he called out in the veils of darkness (formed of the belly of the fish, the sea, and dark, rainy night): "There is no deity but You, All-Glorified You are (in that You are absolutely above having any defect). Surely, I have been one of the wrongdoers (who have wronged themselves)."
