Quran 17 : 57

Those whom they call, seek to their Lord the means of access, which of them (is) nearest, and they hope (for) His mercy and fear His punishment. Indeed, (the) punishment (of) your Lord is (ever) feared.

Musharraf Hussain

Those who they call are themselves looking for the means to be nearer to Him; they long for His kindness and dread His punishment. Your Lord’s punishment is dreadful.
