Quran 12 : 68

Andwhen they entered from where their father had commanded them, it would not have availed them in the least against God, but it was out of a concern in the soul of Jacob that he brought out. And he is with knowledge for what We taught him, but most of the people do not know.

And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not

They entered [safely] as their father had told them. However, he had no power to guard them against God's decree. It was only a wish in Jacobs soul which he had thus fulfilled. He was possessed of knowledge which We had given him. But most people have no knowledge

And when they entered from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them against Allah at all except [it was] a need within the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most of the people do not know

And when they had entered as their father commanded them, it availed them nothing against God, except for a want in Jacob's soul which it fulfilled; and indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge, because We taught him; - but most men do not know.

And when they entered whence their father had commanded them, it did not avail them aught against God, but it fulfilled a need in Jacob’s soul. Truly he was possessed of knowledge because of that which We taught him, but most of mankind know not

And when they entered as their father had instructed them, it did not avail them anything against God; it was just a need in the soul of Jacob, which he carried out. He was a person of knowledge inasmuch as We had taught him, but most people do not know

Despite entering as their father had instructed them, it didn’t alter God’s plan. But it was a need in Jacob’s soul. He was endowed with knowledge from what We had taught him, but most people don’t know.

When they had entered [the city] just as their father ordered them to, it did not help them in any way against God except as a need which He fulfilled in Jacob´s soul. He possessed knowledge since We had taught him, although most men do not realize it.

And when they entered in the way their father had told, it did not help them in the least against (the Plan of) Allah: It was only a need for Yaqoub's (Jacob's) soul, which he had fulfilled. Because by Our instruction, he was full of knowledge (and wisdom): But most men know not

And when they entered in the manner their father had commanded them, Jacob's purpose was fulfilled but it could not avail them anything against ALLAH, except that there was a desire in Jacob's mind which he thus satisfied; and he was surely possessed of great knowledge WE had taught him, but most men know not

And when they had entered as their father had bidden them, it did not avail them aught against Allah, but (it was only) a desire in the soul of Yaqoub which he satisfied; and surely he was possessed of knowledge because We had given him knowledge, but most people do not know

When they went, they entered the town as their father instructed. Jacob was quite right that even he (a Prophet of God) could not avail them against the Divine Laws. It was a duty that he did (giving the correct advice to his sons), although it could not prevent what was to happen (with Benjamin (12:75-81)). He was, by Our teaching, full of knowledge. And most people are devoid of that level of insight

And when they entered from where their father had commanded them, it was not availed about them from Allah of a thing; except just a need in Jacob’s soul, which he accomplished. And surely, he was a knowledge’s possessor for what We taught him, but most of the people are not knowing.

When [the sons of Jacob] presented themselves before Joseph, he drew his brother [Benjamin] to himself, saying [to him in secret], "I am your brother, so do not be saddened by their past actions."

When they went (to Joseph), they entered in accordance with their father's instructions. Although this could not change anything decreed by GOD, Jacob had a private reason for asking them to do this. For he possessed certain knowledge that we taught him, but most people do not know.

And when they entered as their father bade them, he could in no way shield them from the might of God. It was but a wish in Jacob‘s soul which he had thus fulfilled. He was possessed of knowledge which We had given him. But the greater part of mankind have no knowledge

And when they entered from where their father had commanded them, it did not benefit them in any way against Allah but was a need within Ya´qub (Jacob) which he discharged, and he had much knowledge of what We taught him, but most people don´t know.

Then when they entered as their father had instructed them, this did not help them against ˹the Will of˺ Allah whatsoever. It was just a desire in Jacob’s heart which he satisfied. He was truly blessed with ˹great˺ knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most people have no knowledge.

When they entered the way their father had told them, it couldn’t shield them against anything from Allah; but, it satisfied Yaqub’s wish. He had knowledge that We had taught him, unfortunately most people are ignorant

As soon as they entered from where their father had ordered them, it availed them nothing against (the decree of) Allâh as (it was only) a desire that Jacob sought to fulfill. Indeed, he had spiritual gift of knowledge because of the fact that We had taught him. But most of them don’t posses enough knowledge of the Truth.

As soon as they entered from where their father had ordered them, it availed them nothing against (the decree of) Allâh as ( it was only) a desire that ‘Jacob’ sought to fulfill. Indeed, he had spiritual gift of knowledge because of the fact that We had taught him, but most of the people do lack knowledge ( of Allâh).

And (recall) when they entered (the city) in the manner their father had advised them. He could not help them in any way against (the will of) Allah, but it was just an urge in the heart of Ya‘qub which he satisfied; he was a man of knowledge, because We had taught him, but most of the people do not know

Even though they entered the town as their father had told them, it would not have been of any avail to them against the decree of God. It only served to satisfy Jacob's desire and judgment. He was certainly well versed by Our instruction, but most people do not know

And when they entered in the manner which their father had enjoined, it would have naught availed them as against Allah; it was but a need of Jacob's soul which he thus satisfied; and lo! he was a lord of knowledge because We had taught him; but most of mankind know not

And as soon as they entered from where their father commanded them, in no way did it avail them anything whatever with Allah, except (that it was) a need in Yaaqub's (Jacob's) self that he (so) accomplished. And surely he was indeed an owner of a knowledge for what We taught him; but most of mankind do not know

But although they entered [Joseph's city] in the way their father had bidden them, this proved of no avail whatever to them against [the plan of] God [His request] had served only to satisfy Jacob's heartfelt desire [to protect them]: for, behold, thanks to what We had imparted unto him, he was indeed endowed with the knowledge [that God's will must always prevail]; but most people know it not

And when they entered from where their father ordered/commanded them, and (it) was not to suffice/enrich from them from God from a thing, except a need/necessity in Jacob's self he accomplished it, and that truly he is (an owner) of knowledge to what We taught/instructed him , and but most of the people do not know

And when they entered as their father had bidden them, it availed them nothing against Allah. It was an act deemed prudent by Jacob and he expressed it. And indeed he had the knowledge We taught him, but most people know not

And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined them, it did not keep away from them anything (that was to happen to them) from Allah, it was nothing but an urge in the soul of Yaqub which he fulfilled, and he was certainly a possessor of knowledge because We had taught him, but the majority of human beings does not know.

And when they entered as their father had bidden them, it availed them naught against Allah, but (it was only) a desire in the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And surely he was possessed of knowledge, because we had given him knowledge, but most people know not

And it so happened that when they entered the city (by many gates) as their father had directed them, this precautionary measure proved ineffective against Allah´s will. There was an uneasiness in Jacob´s soul which he so tried to remove. Surely he was possessed of knowledge owing to the knowledge that We bestowed upon him. But most people do not know the truth of the matter

When they entered the way their father had instructed, it did not benefit them at all from Allah. Jacob had said that only to ease his soul. He truly was, because of our instruction, filled with knowledge. Most people do not know it.

And when they entered as their father had bidden them, it did not avert from them anything decreed of God; but it only served to satisfy a desire in the soul of Jacob which he had charged them to perform; for he was possessed of knowledge which we had taught him; but most men have not that knowledge

When they had entered [the city] just as their father ordered them to, it did not help them in any way against Allah (God) except as a need which He fulfilled in Jacob's soul. He possessed knowledge since We had taught him, although most men do not realize it.

And when they entered according to their fathers advice, it did not avail them in the least against (the Will of) Allah, it was but a need of Yaqoobs (Jacob) inner-self which he discharged. And verily, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not

And when they entered from where their father had instructed them, nothing helped them against (the decree of) Allah. It was but a need in Jacob's soul which he had fulfilled. He possessed knowledge because of what We had taught him, though most people do not know

And when they had entered as their father bade them, it availed them nothing against (the plan of) Allah. It fulfiled but a want in Jacob´s soul; for, verily, he was possessed of knowledge that We had taught him; but most of mankind know not

And when they entered the city, as their father had commanded them, it was of no advantage unto them against the decree of God; and the same served only to satisfy the desire of Jacob's soul, which he had charged them to perform: For he was indued with knowledge of that which We had taught him; but the greater part of men do not understand

And when they entered from where their father commanded them, he was in no way to avail them from anything from Allah, but it was an urge in the soul of Jacob which he discharged. For he indeed is a man of knowledge for what We have taught him but most people do not know.

And when they entered from the place where their father had commanded them to; that would not at all have saved them against Allah - except that it was Yaqub’s secret wish, which he fulfilled; and indeed he is a possessor of knowledge, due to Our teaching, but most people do not know

And when they had entered as their father bade them, it availed them nothing against God, save for a want in Jacob's soul which it fulfilled; for, verily, he was possessed of knowledge, for that we had taught him;- but most men do not know

They went into town passing through different gates, as instructed by their father. That could not have protected them against Allah a bit, but this is how Yaqub felt in his heart. So he chose to satisfy himself. He had the knowledge given by Us, but most people do not know

And when they entered (Egypt) in compliance with what their father had commanded, that command could not save them from Allah’s (decree), but it was Ya‘qub’s (Jacob’s) heartfelt desire which he fulfilled and (also take not this desire or strategy as meaningless—for you know it not). Surely, Ya‘qub (Jacob) possessed knowledge as We had blessed (him) with (special) knowledge, but most people do not know (these realities)

And when they entered from where their father commanded, it had not been availing them against God in anything, but it was a need of Jacob’s inner self which he satisfied. And, truly, he was a possessor of knowledge because We taught him, except most of humanity knows not.

And when they entered in the manner their father had commanded them, it was not that it could benefit them against Allah in any way, except that a desire in the mind of Yaqub which he fulfilled. And indeed he (i.e., Yaqub) was surely possessed of knowledge because of what We taught him. But the majority of mankind do not know (these facts)

And when they entered from where ordered them their father not it avail(ed) them against Allah any thing but (it was) a need of Yaqub's soul Yaqub's soul which he carried out And indeed, he (was) a possessor (of) knowledge because We had taught him but most (of) the people (do) not know

And when they entered in the manner their father had advised, it did not profit them in the least against God. It was only helpful for Jacob’s soul which he carried out. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge. But most people do not understand

They followed the instructions of their father and entered to the city from different gates. Although this could not have changed anything that the Lord has decreed, Jacob had a personal reason for asking them to do so. He had been blessed by a certain type of knowledge from God. what a shame that most people do not understand these things

And when they entered from where their father instructed them, it was of no use to them at all against God, but it was a requirement of Jacob himself which was carried out. And indeed he had (some) knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most people do not know.

And when they entered after the manner their father commanded them, it availed them nothing against God; but it was a need in Jacob's soul that he so satisfied. Verily he was possessed of a knowledge for that We had taught him; but most men know not

And when they entered the city after the manner their father had bidden them (Jacob's object was achieved but) it could not at all help them against the decree of Allah. All that it came to was that Jacob's desire he had in his mind was (thus) satisfied (and his purpose achieved) and he was surely possessed of knowledge because We had imparted full knowledge to him. But most people do not know (these things)

They entered the city in the manner their father had enjoined on them, although this would have proved of no avail whatever to them against anything God had willed; it was but a need in Jacob’s soul, which he thus satisfied. For he was possessed of knowledge because We had taught it to him, but most people do not know (nor do they act according to the knowledge from God)

And when they entered after the manner their father had commanded, it could not save them against Allah, yes there was a desire in the heart of Yaqub which he fulfilled. And verily, he is the man of knowledge by Our teaching, but most men know not.

Their father’s order to enter through different gates was not to change the decree of Allah... It was only a desire in Jacob’s heart that he fulfilled... Indeed, he possessed knowledge because of what We taught Him... But the majority of the people do not know (these realities).

When they entered as their father had advised them, nothing could avail them against (the will of) God, yet it confirmed a premonition Jacob had, for verily he had knowledge as We had taught him, though most men do not know

And when they entered as their father had enjoined them, it availed them not against Allah at all; it was only a craving in the soul of Ya qub that he satisfied; verily he was endued with knowledge, for We had taught him; but most of the people know not

When they entered (the city) from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them in the least against (the will of) Allah, but it was a need of Jacob’s inner-self which he discharged. Surely, he was endowed with knowledge because We had taught him, but most people don’t know.
