This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Muhammad b. Ja'far but with a slight variation of wording.

← Previous Hadith A silk cloak was presented to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). and he sent it to me and I wore it. but then found some sign of disapproval upon his face, whereupon he said: I did not send it to you that you wear it, but I sent it to you so that you might tear it and make out head dream for your women.

Sahih Muslim Book 37, Hadith 35 Next Hadith → Tear it to make head covering for Fitimas out of it. This tradition is transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr, and Abu Kuraib said: Among the women.
