That his father had told him that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) set out for Hajj and so did his companions. He sent a
batch of his companions by another route and Abu Qatada was one of them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to them,
"Proceed along the seashore till we meet all together." So, they took the route of the seashore, and
when they started all of them assumed Ihram except Abu Qatada. While they were proceeding on, his
companions saw a group of onagers. Abu Qatada chased the onagers and attacked and wounded a sheonager.
They got down and ate some of its meat and said to each other: "How do we eat the meat of
the game while we are in a state of Ihram?" So, we (they) carried the rest of the she-onager's meat, and
when they met Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) they asked, saying, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We assumed Ihram with the
exception of Abu Qatada and we saw (a group) of onagers. Abu Qatada attacked them and wounded a
she-onager from them. Then we got down and ate from its meat. Later, we said, (to each other), 'How
do we eat the meat of the game and we are in a state of Ihram?' So, we carried the rest of its meat. The
Prophet asked, "Did anyone of you order Abu Qatada to attack it or point at it?" They replied in the
negative. He said, "Then eat what is left of its meat."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 28, Hadith 4
Some people during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Messenger of Allah! shall we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Yes, and added: Do you feel any trouble in seeing the sun at noon with no cloud over it, and do you feel trouble in seeing the moon (open) in the full moonlit night with no cloud over it? They said: No, Messenger of Allah! He (the Holy Prophet) said: You will not feel any trouble in seeing Allah on the Day of Resurrection any more than you do in seeing any one of them. When the Day of Resurrection comes a Mu'adhdhin (a proclaimer) would proclaim: Let every people follow what they used to worship. Then all who worshipped idols and stones besides Allah would fall into the Fire, till only the righteous and the vicious and some of the people of the Book who worshipped Allah are left. Then the Jews would be summoned, and it would be said to them: What did you worship? They will say: We worshipped 'Uzair, son of Allah. It would be said to them: You tell a lie; Allah had never had a spouse or a son. What do you want now? They would say: We feel thirsty, O our Lord! Quench our thirst. They would be directed (to a certain direction) and asked: Why don't you go there to drink water? Then they would be pushed towards the Fire (and they would find to their great dismay that) it was but a mirage (and the raging flames of fire) would be consuming one another, and they would fall into the Fire. Then the Christians would be summoned and it would be said to them: What did you worship? They would say: We worshipped Jesus, son of Allah. It would be said to them: You tell a lie; Allah did not take for Himself either a spouse or a son. Then it would be said to them: What do you want? They would say: Thirsty we are, O our Lord! Quench our thirst. They would be directed (to a certain direction) and asked: Why don't you go there to get water? But they would be pushed and gathered together towards the Hell, which was like a mirage to them, and the flames would consume one another. They would fall Into the Fire, till no one is left except he who worshipped Allah, be he pious or sinful. The Lord of the Universe, Glorified and Exalted, would come to them in a form recognisable to them and say; What are you looking for? Every people follow that which they worshipped. They would say: Our Lord, we kept ourselves separate from the people in the world, though we felt great need of them; we, however, did not associate ourselves with them. He would say: I am your Lord. They would say: We take refuge with Allah from thee and do not associate anything with Allah. They would repeat it twice or thrice, till some of them would be about to return. It would be said: Is there any sign between you and Him by which you will recognise Him? They would say: Yes. and the things would be laid bare. Those who used to prostrate themselves before God of their own accord would be permitted by God to prostrate themselves. But there would remain none who used to prostrate out of fear (of people) and ostentation but Allah would make his back as one piece, and whenever he would attempt to prostrate he would fall on his back. Then they would raise their heads and He would assume the Form in which they had seen Him the first time and would say: I am your Lord. They would say: Thou art our Lord. Then the bridge would be set up over the Hell and intercession would be allowed and they will say: O God, keep safe, keep safe.
It was asked: Messenger of Allah, what is this bridge? He said: The void in which one Is likely to slip. There would be hooks, tongs, spits like the thorn that is found in Najd and is known as Sa'dan. The believers would then pass over within the twinkling of an eye, like lightning, like wind, like a bird, like the finest horses and camels. Some will escape and be safe, some will be lacerated and let go, and some will be pushed into the fire of Hell till the believers will find rescue from the Fire. By One in Whose hand is my life, there will be none among you more eager to claim a right than the believers on the Day of Resurrection for (saying their) brethren in the Fire who would say: O our Lord, they were fasting along with us, and praying and performing pilgrimage. It will be said to them: Take out those whom you recognise. Then their persons would be forbidden to the Fire; and they would take out a large number of people who had been overtaken by Fire up to the middle of the shank or up to the knees. They would then say: O our Lord I not one of those about whom Thou didst give us command remains in it. He will then say: Go back and bring out those in whose hearts you find good of the weight of a dinar Then they will take out a large number of people. Then they would say: O our Lord! we have not left anyone about whom You commanded us. He will then say: Go back and bring out those in whose hearts you find as much as half a dinar of good. Then they will take out a large number of people, and would say: O our Lord! not one of those about whom Thou commanded us we have left in it. Then He would say: Go back and in whose heart you find good to the weight of a particle bring him out. They would bring out a large number of people, and would then say: O our Lord, now we have not left anyone in it (Hell) having any good in him.
Abu Sa'id Khudri said: If you don't testify me in this hadith, then recite if you like:" Surely Allah wrongs not the weight of an atom; and if it is a good deed. He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward" (al-Qur'an, iv. 40). Then Allah, Exalted and Great, would say: The angels have interceded, the apostles have interceded and the believers have interceded, and no one remains (to grant pardon) but the Most Merciful of the mercifuls. He will then take a handful from Fire and bring out from it people who never did any good and who had been turned into charcoal, and will cast them into a river called the river of life, on the outskirts of Paradise. They will come out as a seed comes cut from the silt carried by flood. You see it near the stone or near the tree. That which is exposed to the sun is yellowish or greenish and which is under the shade is white. They said: Messenger of Allah! it seems as if you had been tending a flock in the jungle. He (the Holy Prophet) said: They will come forth like pearls with seals on their necks. The inhabitants of Paradise would recognise them (and say): Those are who have been set free by the Compassionate One. Who has admitted them into Paradise without any (good) deed that they did or any good that they sent in advance Then He would say: Enter the Paradise; whatever you see in it is yours. They would say: O Lord, Thou hast bestowed upon us (favours) which Thou didst not bestow upon anyone else in the world. He would say: There is with Me (a favour) for you better than this. They would say: O our Lord! which thing is better than this? He would say: It is My pleasure. I will never be angry with you after this
Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 359
Once the people started asking Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) questions, and they asked so many questions that he
became angry and ascended the pulpit and said, "I will answer whatever questions you may ask me
today." I looked right and left and saw everyone covering his face with his garment and weeping.
Behold ! There was a man who, on quarreling with the people, used to be called as a son of a person
other than h is father. He said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Who is my father?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "Your
father is Hudhaifa." And then `Umar got up and said, "We accept Allah as our Lord, and Islam as
(our) religion, and Muhammad as (our) Apostle; and we seek refuge with Allah from the afflictions."
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, " I have never seen a day like today in its good and its evil for Paradise and the
Hell Fire were displayed in front of me, till I saw them just beyond this wall." Qatada, when relating
this Hadith, used to mention the following Verse:--
'O you who believe! Ask not questions about things which, If made plain to you, May cause you
trouble. (5.101)
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 80, Hadith 59
Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said heard Said ibn
al-Musayyab say, "Keeping gold and silver out of circulation is part
of working corruption in the land."
Malik said, "There is no
harm in buying gold with silver or silver with gold without measuring
if it is unminted or a piece of jewellery which has been made. Counted
dirhams and counted dinars should not be bought without reckoning
until they are known and counted. To abandon number and buy them at
random would only be to speculate. That is not part of the business
transactions of Muslims. As for what is weighed of unminted objects
and jewellery, there is no harm in buying such things without
measuring. To buy them without measuring is like buying wheat, dried
dates, and such food-stuffs, which are sold without measuring, even
though things like them are measured "
Malik spoke about
buying a Qur'an, a sword or a signet ring which had some gold or
silver work on it with dinars or dirhams. He said, "The value of the
object bought with dinars, which has gold in it is looked at. If the
value of the gold is up to one-third of the price, it is permitted and
there is no harm in it if the sale is hand to hand and there is no
deferment in it. When something is bought with silver which has silver
in it, the value is looked at. If the value of the silver is one-
third, it is permitted and there is no harm in it if the sale is hand
to hand. That is still the way of doing things among us."
Muwatta Malik Book 31, Hadith 37
Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn
Yasar that Abdullah ibn Abbas said, "There was an eclipse of the sun
and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
prayed, and the people prayed with him. He stood for a long time,
nearly as long as (it takes to recite) Surat al-Baqara (Sura 2), and
then went into ruku for a long time. Then he rose and stood for a long
time, though less than the first time. Then he went into ruku for a
long time, though less than the first time. Then he went down into
sajda. Then he stood for a long time, though less than the first time.
Then he went into ruku for a long time, though less than the first
time. Then he rose and stood for a long time, though less than the
firsttime. Then he went into ruku for a long time, though less than
the first time. Then he went down into sajda, and by the time he had
finished the sun had appeared. Then he said, 'The sun and the moon are
two of Allah's signs. They do not eclipse for anyone's death nor for
anyone's life. When you see an eclipse, remember Allah.' They said,
'Messenger of Allah, we saw you reach out for something while you were
standing here and then we saw you withdraw.' He said, 'I saw the
Garden and I reached out for a bunch of grapes from it, and if I had
taken it you would have been able to eat from it for as long as this
world lasted. Then I saw the Fire - and I have never seen anything
more hideous than what I saw today - and I saw that most of its
people were women.' They said, 'Why, Messenger of Allah?' He said,
'Because of their ungratefulness (kufr).' Someone said, 'Are they
ungrateful toAllah?' He said, 'They are ungrateful to their husbands
and they are ungrateful for good behaviour (towards them) . Even if
you were to behave well towards one of them for a whole lifetime and
then she were to see you do something (that she did not like) she
would say that she had never seen anything good from you.' "
Muwatta Malik Book 12, Hadith 2
A man entered the masjid when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was standing and delivering the Khutbah. He turned to face the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) standing and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has been destroyed and the routes have been cut off. Pray to Allah (SWT) to send us rain.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands then said: "O Allah, send us rain." Anas said: "By Allah, we had not seen even a wisp of a cloud in the sky and there were no houses or buildings between us and (the mountain of ) Sal'. Then a cloud like a shield appeared, and when it reached the middle of the sky it spread and it began to rain." Anas said: "By Allah, we did not see the sun for a week. Then a man entered through that door on the following Friday, when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was standing and delivering the Khutbah. He turned to face him standing and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), may Allah (SWT) send blessings upon you. Our wealth has been destroyed and the routes have been cut off. Pray to Allah (SWT) to withold (the rain) from us.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said: 'O Allah, around us and not on us.; O Allah, on the hills and mountains, the bottoms of the valleys and where the trees grow.' Then it stopped raining and we went out walking in the sun." Sharik said: 'I asked Anas: 'Was he the same man?' He said: 'No.'"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 17, Hadith 15
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah will gather all the people on the Day of Resurrection and they will say,
'Let us request someone to intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of
ours.'
Then they will go to Adam and say, 'You are the one whom Allah created with His Own Hands, and
breathed in you of His soul, and ordered the angels to prostrate to you; so please intercede for us with
our Lord.' Adam will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, and will remember his sin, and will say,
'Go to Noah, the first Apostle sent by Allah'
They will go to him and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking', and will remember his sin and
say, 'Go to Abraham whom Allah took as a Khalil.
They will go to him (and request similarly). He will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and will
remember his sin and say, 'Go to Moses to whom Allah spoke directly.'
They will go to Moses and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and will remember his sin
and say, 'Go to Jesus.'
They will go to him, and he will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, go to Muhammad as Allah has
forgiven his past and future sins.'
They will come to me and I will ask my Lord's permission, and when I see Him, I will fall down in
prostration to Him, and He will leave me in that state as long as (He) Allah will, and then I will be
addressed. 'Raise up your head (O Muhammad)! Ask, and your request will be granted, and say, and
your saying will be listened to; intercede, and your intercession will be accepted.' Then I will raise my
head, and I will glorify and praise my Lord with a saying(i.e. invocation) He will teach me, and then I
will intercede, Allah will fix a limit for me (i.e., certain type of people for whom I may intercede), and
I will take them out of the (Hell) Fire and let them enter Paradise. Then I will come back (to Allah)
and fall in prostration, and will do the same for the third and fourth times till no-one remains in the
(Hell) Fire except those whom the Qur'an has imprisoned therein." (The sub-narrator, Qatada used to
say at that point, "...those upon whom eternity (in Hell) has been imposed.") (See Hadith No. 3, Vol
6).
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 81, Hadith 154
“When he reached the evening, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, ‘We have reached the evening, and the Dominion has reached the evening, while belonging to Allah. And all praise belongs to Allah. None has the right to be worshiped but Allah, alone, without partner. (Amsaina wa amsal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdullilāh, wa lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu)’ – I think he said : - ‘To Him belongs the Dominion, and to Him is the praise, and He is capable of all things. I ask You for the good that is in this night, and the good of what is after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night, and the evil of what is after it, and I seek refuge in You from laziness and helpless old age. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the Fire and the punishment of the grave (Lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa `alā kulli shai'in qadīr. Asa'luka khaira mā fī hādhihil-lailah, wa khaira mā ba`dahā, wa a`ūdhu bika min sharri hādhihil-lailati wa sharri mā ba`dahā, wa a`ūdhu bika minal-kasali wa sū'il-kibar, wa a`ūdhu bika min `adhābin-nāri wa `adhābil-qabr).’ And when he reached the morning, he (ﷺ) used to say, ‘We have reached the morning, and the Dominion has reached the morning, while belonging to Allah. And all praise belongs to Allah (Aṣbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdulillāh).’”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 48, Hadith 21
"The Messenger of Allah taught us the Tashah-hud for Salat and the Tashah-hud for Al-Hajjah." He said: "The Tashah-hud for Salat is: (At-Tahiyyatulilah, was-walawtu wat-tayyibatu. As-Salamu alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullilahi wa barakatuhu, As-Salamu alina wa ala ibadillahis-salihin. Ashahadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduha wa Raduluh.) 'All greetings, prayers, and pure words are for Allah. Peace be upon you O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and His blessings. Peace be upon us and all of the righteous worshippers of Allah. I testify that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah. and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger."And the Tashah-hud for Al-Hajjah is: 'Indeed all praise is due to Allah, we seek His aid, and we seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge with Allah from the evils of our souls and the mischief of our deeds. (Innal-Hamdlillahi nasta'inuhu, wa nastaghfirhu, wa na'udhu billahi min sharuri anfusina, wa sayy'ita a'malina, man yahdihi, sala mudilla lahu, wa manyudlil, fala Hadiya lahu, wa ashadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasuluh) 'Whoever He guides - meaning Allah - then here is none to lead him astray, and whomever He misleads, then there is no guide for him. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His worshipper and Messenger.'"
He said: "And he recited three Ayat."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 11, Hadith 26
The Prophet (ﷺ) decided regarding one who was treated as a member of a family after the death of his father, to whom he was attributed when the heirs said he was one of them, that if he was the child of a slave-woman whom the father owned when he had intercourse with her, he was included among those who sought his inclusion, but received none of the inheritance which was previously divided; he, however, received his portion of the inheritance which had not already been divided; but if the father to whom he was attributed had disowned him, he was not joined to the heirs.
If he was a child of a slave-woman whom the father did not possess or of a free woman with whom he had illicit intercourse, he was not joined to the heirs and did not inherit even if the one to whom he was attributed is the one who claimed paternity, since he was a child of fornication whether his mother was free or a slave.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 13, Hadith 91
Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu Hazim Salama ibn Dinar
from Sahl ibn Said as-Saidi that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah
bless him and grant him peace, went to the tribe of Bani Amr ibn Awf
to settle their disputes .The time for the prayer came and the
muadhdhin came to Abu Bakr as-Siddiq and said, "Could you lead the
people in prayer and I will say the iqama?" He said, "Yes," and Abu
Bakr prayed. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, came back while the people were praying, and approached and
joined the row. People clapped, but Abu Bakr did not turn round. The
people increased their clapping, and Abu Bakr turned round and saw the
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, indicated
to him to stay in his place. Abu Bakr raised his hands and praised
Allah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, had told him to do that. Then he drew back until he was in the
row, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, stepped forward and led the prayer. When he had finished he
said, "Abu Bakr, what stopped you from staying put like I told you?"
Abu Bakr said, "It is not for Ibn Abi Quhafa to pray in front of the
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
"Why did I see you all clapping so much? If something happens to you
in the prayer you should say 'Subhana-llah' (Glory be to Allah), and
when you say 'Subhana-llah' you will be heard. Clapping is only for
women."
Muwatta Malik Book 9, Hadith 69
"The people asked 'Abdullah too many questions one day, and 'Abdullah said: 'There was a time when we did not pass so many judgments, but now that time is over. Now Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has decreed that we reach a time when, as you see, (we are asked to pass many judgments). Whoever among you is asked to pass a judgment after this day, let him pass judgment according to what is in the Book of Allah. If he is faced with a matter that is not mentioned in the Book of Allah, let him pass judgment according to the way His Prophet passed judgment. If he is faced with a matter that is not mentioned in the Book of Allah and concerning which His Prophet did not pass judgment, then let him pass judgment according to the way the righteous passed judgment. If he is faced with a matter that is not mentioned in the Book of Allah, and concerning which His Prophet and the righteous did not pass judgment, then let him strive to work it out, and let him not say 'I am afraid, I am afraid.' For that which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear, and between them are matters which are not as clear. Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.'"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 49, Hadith 19
When the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to perform `Umra in the month of Dhul-Qada, the people of Mecca did not
let him enter Mecca till he settled the matter with them by promising to stay in it for three days only.
When the document of treaty was written, the following was mentioned: 'These are the terms on
which Muhammad, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) agreed (to make peace).' They said, "We will not agree to this, for
if we believed that you are Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) we would not prevent you, but you are Muhammad bin
`Abdullah." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I am Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and also Muhammad bin `Abdullah." Then he
said to `Ali, "Rub off (the words) 'Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)' ", but `Ali said, "No, by Allah, I will never rub off
your name." So, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took the document and wrote, 'This is what Muhammad bin
`Abdullah has agreed upon: No arms will be brought into Mecca except in their cases, and nobody
from the people of Mecca will be allowed to go with him (i.e. the Prophet (ﷺ) ) even if he wished to
follow him and he (the Prophet (ﷺ) ) will not prevent any of his companions from staying in Mecca if the
latter wants to stay.' When the Prophet (ﷺ) entered Mecca and the time limit passed, the Meccans went to
`Ali and said, "Tell your Friend (i.e. the Prophet (ﷺ) ) to go out, as the period (agreed to) has passed." So,
the Prophet (ﷺ) went out of Mecca. The daughter of Hamza ran after them (i.e. the Prophet (ﷺ) and his
companions), calling, "O Uncle! O Uncle!" `Ali received her and led her by the hand and said to
Fatima, "Take your uncle's daughter." Zaid and Ja`far quarreled about her. `Ali said, "I have more
right to her as she is my uncle's daughter." Ja`far said, "She is my uncle's daughter, and her aunt is my
wife." Zaid said, "She is my brother's daughter." The Prophet (ﷺ) judged that she should be given to her
aunt, and said that the aunt was like the mother. He then said to 'All, "You are from me and I am from
you", and said to Ja`far, "You resemble me both in character and appearance", and said to Zaid, "You
are our brother (in faith) and our freed slave."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 53, Hadith 9
We were in our country when flags and banners were raised. I said: What is this?
The (the people) said: This is the banner of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So I came to him. He was (sitting) under a tree. A sheet of cloth was spread for him and he was sitting on it. His Companions were gathered around him. I sat with them.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mentioned illness and said: When a believer is afflicted by illness and Allah cures him of it, it serves as an atonement for his previous sins and a warning to him for the future.
But when a hypocrite becomes ill and is then cured, he is like a camel which has been tethered and then let loose by its owners, but does not know why they tethered it and why they let it loose.
A man from among those around him asked: Messenger of Allah, what are illnesses? I swear by Allah, I never fell ill.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Get up and leave us. You do not belong to our number. When we were with him, a man came to him. He had a sheet of cloth and something in his hand.
He turned his attention to him and said: Messenger of Allah, when I saw you, I turned towards you. I saw a group of trees and heard the sound of fledglings. I took them and put them in my garment. Their mother then came and began to hover round my head. I showed them to her, and she fell on them. I wrapped them with my garment. They are now with me.
He said: Put them away from you. So I put them away, but their mother stayed with them.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to his companions: Are you surprised at the affection of the mother for her young?
They said: Yes, Messenger of Allah. He said: I swear by Him Who has sent me with the Truth, Allah is more affectionate to His servants than a mother to her young ones. Take them back put them and where you took them from when their mother should have been with them. So he took them back.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 21, Hadith 1
A man whom the Prophet (ﷺ) made the following verse read informed me, or he was informed by a man whom a man made the following verse read through a man whom the Prophet (ﷺ) made the following verse read: "For, that day His chastisement will be such as none (else) can be inflicted (la yu'adhdhabu)
Abu Dawud said: 'Asim, al-A'mash, Talhah b. Musarrif, Abu Ja'far Yazid b. al-Qa'qa', Shaibah b. Nassah, Nafi' b. 'Abd al-Rahman, 'Abd Allah b. Kathir al-Dari, Abu 'Amr b. al-'Ala', Hamzat al-Zayyat, 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj, Qatadah, al-Hasan al-Basri, Mujahid, Hamid al=A'raj, Abd Allah b. 'Abbas and 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakr recited: "For,that day His chastisement will be such as none (else) can inflict (la ya'adhdhibu), and His bonds will be such as none (other) can bind (wa la yathiqu), except the verse mentioned in this tradition from the Prophet (ﷺ). It has een read yu'adhdhabu with short vowel a in passive voice.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 32, Hadith 29
"My father narrated to me that he attended the Farewell Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He (ﷺ) expressed his gratitude to Allah and praised Him, and reminded and exhorted, then he said: 'Which day is most sacred? Which day is most sacred? Which day is most sacred?' He said: "So the people said: 'The day of Al-Hajj Al-Akbar O Messenger of Allah!' So he said: 'Indeed, your blood, your wealth, your honor, is as sacred for you as the sacredness of this day of yours, in this city of yours, in this month of yours. Behold! None commits a crime but against himself, none offends a father for a son, nor a son for a father. Behold! Indeed the Muslim is the brother of the Muslim, so it is not lawful for the Muslim to do anything to his brother, which is not lawful to be done to himself. Behold! All Riba from Jahiliyyah is invalid, for you is the principle of your wealth, but your are not to wrong nor be wronged - except in the case of Riba of Al-'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib - otherwise it is all invalid. Behold! All retribution regarding cases of blood during Jahiliyyah are invalid. The first case of blood retribution invalidated among those of Jahiliyyah, is the blood of Al-Harith bin 'Abdul-Muttalib who was nursed among Banu Laith and killed by Hudhail. Behold! I order you to treat women well, for they are but like captives with you, you have no sovereignty beyond this over them, unless they manifest lewdness. If they do that, then abandon their beds, and beat them with a beating that is not painful. Then if they obey you, then there is no cause for you against them beyond that. Behold! There are rights for you upon your women, and rights for your women upon you. As for your rights upon them, then they are not to allow anyone on your bedding whom you dislike, nor to permit anyone whom you dislike in your homes. Behold! Indeed their rights upon you are that you treat them well in clothing them and feeding them.'"
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 47, Hadith 139
I remember Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and also the mouthful of water which he took from a bucket in our house
and ejected (on me). I heard from `Itban bin Malik Al-Ansari, who was one from Bani Salim, saying,
"I used to lead my tribe of Bani Salim in prayer. Once I went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said to him, 'I have
weak eyesight and at times the rainwater flood intervenes between me and the mosque of my tribe and
I wish that you would come to my house and pray at some place so that I could take that place as a
place for praying (mosque). He said, "Allah willing, I shall do that." Next day Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along
with Abu Bakr, came to my house after the sun had risen high and he asked permission to enter. I gave
him permission, but he didn't sit till he said to me, "Where do you want me to pray in your house?" I
pointed to a place in the house where I wanted him to pray. So he stood up for the prayer and we
aligned behind him. He completed the prayer with Taslim and we did the same simultaneously."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 10, Hadith 232
Brother, ride in this valley and bring information for me about the person who claims that there comes to him information from the Heavens. Listen to his words and then come to me. So he rode on until he came to Mecca and he heard his words (the sacred words of the Holy Prophet) and then came back to Abu Dharr and said: I have seen him exhorting (people) to develop good morals and his expressions can in no way be termed as poetry. He (Abu Dharr) said: I have not been satisfied with it regarding that which I had in my mind (as I sent you). So he took up provisions for the journey and a small water-skin containing water (and set forth) until he came to Mecca. He came to the mosque (Ka`bah) and began to look for Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and he did not recognize him (the Holy Prophet) and he did not even like that he should ask about him from anyone until it was night, and he slept. `Ali saw him and found him to be a stranger. So he went with him. He followed him but one did not make any inquiry from the other about anything until it was morning. He then brought the water and his provisions to the mosque and spent a day there, but he did not see Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) until it was night. He then returned to his bed, and there happened to pass `Ali and he said: This man has not been able to find his destination until this time. He made him stand and he went with him and no one made an inquiry from his companion about anything. And when it was the third day he did the same. `Ali made him stand up and brought him along with him. He said: By Him, besides Whom there is no god, why don't you tell me (the reason) which brought you here to this town? He said: (I shall do this) provided you hold me promise and a covenant that you would guide me aright. He then did that. He (`Ali) said: Verily, he is truthful and he is a Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and when it is morning, follow me and if I would say anything from which I would sense fear about you I would stand (in a manner) as if I was throwing water and if I move on, you then follow me until I get in (some house). He did that and I followed him until he came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). He entered (the house) of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) along with him and listened to his words and embraced Islam at this very place. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said to him: Go to your people and inform them until my command reaches you. Thereupon he said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I shall say to the people of Mecca this thing at the top of my voice. So he set forth until he came to the mosque and then spoke at the top of his voice (saying): I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. The people attacked him and made him fall down when al-`Abbas came and he leaned over him and said: Woe be upon you, don't you know that he is from amongst the tribe of Ghifar and your trading route to Syria passes through (the settlements of this tribe), and he rescued him. He (Abu Dharr) did the same on the next day and they (the Meccans) again attacked him and al-`Abbas leaned upon him and he rescued him.
