Malik said, "A master who frees a slave of his and settles his
emancipation so that his testimony is permitted, his inviolability
complete, and his right to inherit confirmed, cannot impose
stipulations on him like what he imposes on a slave about property or
service, nor get him to do anything of slavery, because the Messenger
of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If a man
frees his share of a slave and has enough money to cover the full
price of the slave justly evaluated for him, he must give his partners
their shares so the slave is completely free."
Malik
commented, "If he owns the slave completely, it is more proper to free
him completely and not mingle any slavery with it."
Muwatta Malik Book 38, Hadith 3
Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) offered the night (Tahajjud) prayer, he used to say, "O Allah! All the Praises
are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth. And all the Praises are for You; You are
the Keeper of the Heavens and the Earth. All the Praises are for You; You are the Lord of the Heavens
and the Earth and whatever is therein. You are the Truth, and Your Promise is the Truth, and Your
Speech is the Truth, and meeting You is the Truth, and Paradise is the Truth and Hell (Fire) is the
Truth and all the prophets are the Truth and the Hour is the Truth. O Allah! I surrender to You, and
believe in You, and depend upon You, and repent to You, and in Your cause I fight and with Your
orders I rule. So please forgive my past and future sins and those sins which I did in secret or in
public. It is You Whom I worship, None has the right to be worshipped except You ." (See Hadith No.

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 124
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was traveling on one of his journeys, and `Umar bin Al-Khattab was traveling along
with him at night. `Umar asked him about something, but Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not answer him. He
asked again, but he did not answer. He asked for the third time, but he did not answer. On that, `Umar
said to himself, "May your mother lose you! You have asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) three times, but he did
not answer at all!" `Umar said, "So I made my camel go fast till I was ahead of the people, and I was
afraid that something might be revealed about me. After a little while I heard a call maker calling me,
I said, 'I was afraid that some Quranic Verse might be revealed about me.' So I went to Allah's
Apostle and greeted him. He said, 'Tonight there has been revealed to me a Surah which is dearer to
me than that on which the sun shines (i.e. the world).' Then he recited: 'Verily! We have given you (O
Muhammad), a manifest victory.' " (Surat al-Fath) No. (48.1).
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 66, Hadith 34
While I was sitting with AbuHurayrah, a Persian woman came to him along with a son of hers. She had been divorced by her husband and they both claimed him.
She said: AbuHurayrah, speaking to him in Persian, my husband wishes to take my son away.
AbuHurayrah said: Cast lots for him, saying it to her in a foreign language.
Then her husband came and asked: Who is disputing with me about my son?
AbuHurayrah said: O Allah, I do not say this, except that I heard a woman who came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while I was sitting with him, and she said: My husband wishes to take away my son, Messenger of Allah, and he draws water for me from the well of AbuInabah, and he has been good to me.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Cast lots for him. Her husband said: Who is disputing with me about my son? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: This is your father and this your mother, so take whichever of them you wish by the hand. So he took his mother's hand and she went away with him.
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 13, Hadith 103
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone drinks wine, flog him; if he repeats it, flog him, and if he repeats it, flog him. If he does it again a third or a fourth time, kill him. A man who had drunk wine was brought (to him) and he gave him lashes. He was again brought to him, and he flogged him. He was again brought to him and he flogged him. He was again brought to him and he flogged him. The punishment of killing (for drinking) was repealed, and a concession was allowed.
Sufyan said: Al-Zuhri transmitted this tradition when Mansur b. al-Mu'tamir amd Mukhawwal b. Rashid were present with him. He said to them: Take this tradition as a present to the people of Iraq.
Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Sharid b. Suwaid, Sharahbil b. Aws, 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr, 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar, Abu Ghutaif al-Kindi, and Abu Salamah b. 'Abd al-Rahman from Abu Hurairah.
