I asked Jabir bin `Abdullah about praying in a single garment. He said, "I traveled with the Prophet (ﷺ)
during some of his journeys, and I came to him at night for some purpose and I found him praying. At
that time, I was wearing a single garment with which I covered my shoulders and prayed by his side.
When he finished the prayer, he asked, 'O Jabir! What has brought you here?' I told him what I
wanted. When I finished, he asked, 'O Jabir! What is this garment which I have seen and with which
you covered your shoulders?' I replied, 'It is a (tight) garment.' He said, 'If the garment is large
enough, wrap it round the body (covering the shoulders) and if it is tight (too short) then use it as an
Izar (tie it around your waist only.)' "
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 8, Hadith 13
Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Amr
ibn Hazm from his father from Abu'n-Nadr as-Salami that the Messenger
of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If three of
a muslim's children die, and he remains content with that, they will
be a protection for him from the Fire." A woman who was with the
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Or
two, Messengerof Allah?", and he said, "Or two."
Muwatta Malik Book 16, Hadith 40
Yahya related to me from Malik from Nuaym ibn Abdullah al-
Mujmirthat Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Zayd told him that Abu Masud al
Ansari said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant
him peace, came to us at the gathering of Sad ibn Ubada. Bashir ibn
Sad said to him, 'Allah has ordered us to ask for blessings on you,
Messenger of Allah. How should we do it?' The Messenger of Allah, may
Allah bless him and grant him peace, remained silent until we wished
we had not asked him. Then he told us to say, 'O Allah, bless Muhammad
and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim, and give baraka to
Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You gave baraka to the family
of Ibrahim. In all the worlds You are worthy of Praise and Glorious,'
and then give the taslim as you have learnt."
Allahumma salli
ala Muhammad wa ali Muhammad kama sallaita Ibrahim, wa baraka ala
Muhammad wa ali Muhammad kama baraktaala ali Ibrahim. Fi'l alamin,
innaka Hamidu'm - Majid.
Muwatta Malik Book 9, Hadith 75
"A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'I fondled a woman who lives on the edge of Al-Madinah, and I did with her what is less than intercourse, and here I am, so judge in my case as you will.' So 'Umar said to him: 'Allah covered you, so you should have covered yourself.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not give him any reply. The man left but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a man after him to call him. He recited to him: 'And perform Salat, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful (11:114) until the end of the Ayah. A man among the people said: 'Is this specific for him?' He (ﷺ) said: 'No. Rather for all of the people.'"
This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. This is how it was reported by Isra'Il from Simãk, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqamah and Al-Aswad, from 'Abdullãh from
the Prophet , and it is similar. Shu'bah reported it from Simãk , from Ibrahim, from AlAswad, from 'Abdullãh from the Prophet similarly. Sufyan AthThawri reported the same from Simãk, from Ibrahim, 'AbdurRahman bin Yazld, from 'Abdulläh from the Prophet (ﷺ). And the narrations of these people are more correct than the narration of Ath-Thawri.
(Another chain) from 'Abdullãh from the Prophet with similar.
(Another chain) from 'Abdulläh bin Mas'üd from the Prophet (ﷺ) with similar in meaning, but he did not mention "from Al-A'mash" in it. And Sulaimãn At-Taimi reported this Hadith from Abu 'Uthmãn An-Nahdi, from Ibn Mas'ud from the Prophet .
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 47, Hadith 164
While Ibn `Umar was performing the Tawaf (around the Ka`ba), a man came up to him and said, "O
Abu `AbdurRahman!" or said, "O Ibn `Umar! Did you hear anything from the Prophet (ﷺ) about An35
Najwa?" Ibn `Umar said, "I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, 'The Believer will be brought near his Lord."
(Hisham, a sub-narrator said, reporting the Prophet's words), "The believer will come near (his Lord)
till his Lord covers him with His screen and makes him confess his sins. (Allah will ask him), 'Do you
know (that you did) 'such-and-such sin?" He will say twice, 'Yes, I do.' Then Allah will say, 'I
concealed it in the world and I forgive it for you today.' Then the record of his good deeds will be
folded up. As for the others, or the disbelievers, it will be announced publicly before the witnesses:
'These are ones who lied against their Lord."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 207
