`Urwa bin Az-Zubair, Sa`id bin Al-Musaiyab, 'Al-Qama bin Waqqas and 'Ubaidullah bin `Abdullah
related the narration of `Aisha, the wife the Prophet, when the slanderers had said about her what they
had said and Allah later declared her innocence. Each of them related a part of the narration (wherein)
the Prophet (ﷺ) said (to `Aisha). "If you are innocent, then Allah will declare your innocence: but if you
have committed a sin, then ask for Allah's Forgiveness and repent to him." `Aisha said, "By Allah, I
find no example for my case except that of Joseph's father (when he said), 'So (for me) patience is
most fitting.' " Then Allah revealed the ten Verses:-- "Verily those who spread the slander are a gang
amongst you.." (24.11)
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 212
"I heard Mus'ab bin Sa'd say, concerning his father: 'He used to teach us five things that the Messenger of Allah used to recite in his supplication, and say: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni, wa a'udhu bika an uradda ila ardhalil-'umuri, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from reaching the age of senility, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave.)"
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 50, Hadith 69
Malik said, "When a man owes money to another man and he asks him
to let it stay with him as a quirad, that is disapproved of until the
creditor receives his property. Then he can make it a qirad loan or
keep it. That is because the debtor may be in a tight situation, and
want to delay it to increase it for him."
Malik spoke about
an investor who made a qirad loan to a man, and some of the principal
was lost before he used it, and then he used it and made a profit. The
agent wanted to make the principal the remainder of the money after
what was lost from it. Malik said, "His statement is not accepted, and
the principal is made up to its original amount from his profit. Then
they divide what remains after the principal has been repaid according
to the conditions of the qirad."
Malik said, "Qirad loan is
only good in gold or silver coin and it is never permitted in any kind
of wares or goods or articles."
Malik said, "There are
certain transactions which if a long span of time passes after the
transaction takes place, its revocation becomes unacceptable. As for
usury, there is never anything except its rejection whether it is a
little or a lot. What is permitted in other than it is not permitted
in it because Allah, the Blessed and the Exalted, said in His Book,
'If you repent, you have your capital back, not wronging and not
wronged. ' "
32.4 Conditions Permitted in Qirad
Muwatta Malik Book 32, Hadith 4
Sahal b. Hunaif stood up on the Day of Siffin and said: O ye people, blame yourselves (for want of discretion) ; we were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the Day of Hudaibiya. If we had thought it fit to fight, we could fight. This was in the truce between the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the polytheists. Umar b. Khattab came, approached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, aren't we fighting for truth and they for falsehood? He replied: By all means. He asked: Are not those killed from our side in Paradise and those killed. from their side in the Fire? He replied: Yes. He said: Then why should we put a blot upon our religion and return, while Allah has not decided the issue between them and ourselves? He said: Son of Khattab, I am the Messenger of Allah. Allah will never ruin me. (The narrator said): Umar went away, but he could not contain himself with rage. So he approached Abu Bakr and said: 'Abu Bakr, aren't we fighting for truth and they for falsehood? He replied: Yes. He asked: Aren't those killed from our side in Paradise and those killed from their side in the Fire? He replied: Why not? He (then) said: Why should we then disgrace our religion and return while God has not yet decided the issue between them and ourselves? Abu Bakr said: Son of Khattab, verily, he is the Messenger of Allah, and Allah will never ruin him. (The narrator continued): At this (a Sura of) the Quran (giving glad tidings of the victory) was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He sent for Umar and made him read it. He asked: Is (this truce) a victory? He (the Messenger of Allah) replied: Yes. At this Umar was pleased, and returned.
