“I came to Al-Madinah and
sat with some old men in the mosque of the Prophet (ﷺ). Then an old
man came, leaning on his stick, and the people said: ‘Whoever would
like to look at a man from among the people of Paradise, let him look
at this man.’ He stood behind a pillar and prayed two Rak’ah. I
got up and went to him, and said to him: ‘Some of the people said
such and such.’ He said: ‘Praise is to Allah. Paradise belongs to
Allah and He admits whomsoever He wills to it. At the time of the
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I saw a dream in which a man came to me and
said: “Let’s go.” So I went with him and he took me along a
great road. A road was shown to me on the left and I wanted to follow
it, but he said: “You are not one of its people.” Then a road was
shown to me on the right, and I followed him until I reached a
slippery mountain. He took me by the hand and helped me up. When I
reached the top I could not stand firm. There was an iron pillar
there with a golden ring at the top. He took my hand and helped me up
until I reached the handhold, then he said: “Have you gotten a firm
hold?” I said: “Yes.” Then he struck the pillar with his foot
and I held tight to the pillar. I told this to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: "You have seen something good. The great road is the plain of gathering (on the Day of Resurrection). The road that you were shown on your left is the way of the people of Hell, and you are not one of its people. The road which you were shown on your right is the way of the people of Paradise. The slippery mountain is the place of the martyrs, and the handhold that you held on tight to is the handhold of Islam. Hold on tight to it until you die." I hope to be one of the people of Paradise,' and he was 'Abdullah bin Salam."
Sunan Ibn Majah Book 35, Hadith 28
The people used to send presents to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day of `Aisha's turn. `Aisha said, "My
companions (i.e. the other wives of the Prophet) gathered in the house of Um Salama and said, "O Um
Salama! By Allah, the people choose to send presents on the day of `Aisha's turn and we too, love the
good (i.e. presents etc.) as `Aisha does. You should tell Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) to tell the people to send their
presents to him wherever he may be, or wherever his turn may be." Um Salama said that to the
Prophet and he turned away from her, and when the Prophet (ﷺ) returned to her (i.e. Um Salama), she
repeated the same, and the Prophet (ﷺ) again turned away, and when she told him the same for the third
time, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Um Salama! Don't trouble me by harming `Aisha, for by Allah, the Divine
Inspiration never came to me while I was under the blanket of any woman amongst you except her."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 62, Hadith 120
"I went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall I not fight those who turn away among my people, along with those who believe? So he permitted me to fight them and made me their commander.' When I left him, he asked me, saying: 'What has Al-Ghutaifi done?' He was informed that I set off on my journey." He said: "So he sent a message on my route that I should return. I went to him and he was with a group of his Companions. He said: 'Invite your people. Whoever accepts Islam among them then accept it from him. And whoever does not accept Islam, then do not be hasty until new news reaches you.'" He said: "And what was revealed about Saba was revealed, so a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What is Saba; is it a land or a woman?' He said: 'It is neither a land nor a woman, but it is a man who had ten sons among the Arabs. Six of them went south (in Yemen) and four of them went north (toward Ash-Sham). As for those who went north, they are Lakhm, Judham, Ghassan and 'Amilah. As for those who sent south, they are Azad, Al-'Ash'ariyyun, Himyar, Kindah, Madhhij, and Anmar.' A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who are Anmar?' He said: 'Those among whom are Khath'am and Bajilah.'" .
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 47, Hadith 274
“I witnessed Ali having an animal brought to him to ride. When he placed his foot in the stirrup he said: ‘In the Name of Allah,’ (Bismillāh) . So then, once he had ascended upon its back, he said: ‘All praise is due to Allah.’ (Al-ḥamdulillāh) then he said: Glory is to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we were not able to do it. And, surely, to our Lord are we returning (Subḥān alladhī sakh-khara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahū muqrinīn. Wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn). Then he said: ‘All praise is due to Allah (Al-ḥamdulillāh)’ – three times – and ‘Allah is the Greatest (Allāhu Akbar)’ – three times – ‘Glory is to You, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You (Subḥānaka innī qad ẓalamtu nafsī faghfirlī fa-innahū lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā ant).’ Then he laughed. So I said: ‘O Commander of the Believer! What caused you to laugh?’ He said: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah do as I did, then he (ﷺ) laughed, so I said, ‘What cause you to laugh?’ He said: ‘Indeed, your Lord is very pleased with His worshipper when he says: “O my Lord, forgive me my sins, indeed, no one other than You forgives sins.”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 48, Hadith 77
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Abu Bakr is in Paradise, 'Umar is in Paradise, 'Uthman is in Paradise, 'Ali is in Paradise, Talhah is in Paradise, Az-Zubair is in Paradise, 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf is in Paradise, Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas is in Paradise, Sa'eed bin Zaid is in Paradise, and Abu 'Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah is in Paradise."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 49, Hadith 144
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When the call for the prayer is pronounced, Satan takes to his heels, passing wind
with noise, When the call for the prayer is finished, he comes back. And when the Iqama is
pronounced, he again takes to his heels, and after its completion, he returns again to interfere between
the (praying) person and his heart, saying to him. 'Remember this or that thing.' till the person forgets
whether he has offered three or four rak`at: so if one forgets whether he has prayed three or four rak`at,
he should perform two prostrations of Sahu (i.e. forgetfulness).
