That his father was martyred on the day of the battle of Uhud and was in debt and left six (orphan)
daughters. Jabir, added, "When the season of plucking the dates came, I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and
said, "You know that my father was martyred on the day of Uhud, and he was heavily in debt, and I
would like that the creditors should see you." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Go and pile every kind of dates
apart." I did so and called him (i.e. the Prophet (ﷺ) ). When the creditors saw him, they started claiming
their debts from me then in such a harsh manner (as they had never done before). So when he saw
their attitude, he went round the biggest heap of dates thrice, and then sat over it and said, 'O Jabir),
call your companions (i.e. the creditors).' Then he kept on measuring (and giving) to the creditors
(their due) till Allah paid all the debt of my father. I would have been satisfied to retain nothing of
those dates for my sisters after Allah had paid the debts of my father. But Allah saved all the heaps (of
dates), so that when I looked at the heap where the Prophet (ﷺ) had been sitting, it seemed as if a single
date had not been taken away thereof."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 99
Malik was asked whether, when an imam had accepted jizya from a
people and they gave it, he thought that the land of one of them who
surrendered belonged to him or whether his land and property belonged
to the Muslims. Malik said, "That varies. As for the people of peace,
if one of them surrenders, then he is entitled to his land and
property. As for the people of force who use force, if one of them
surrenders, his land and property belong to the Muslims because the
people of force are overcome in their towns, and it becomes booty for
the Muslims. As for the people of peace, their property and selves are
protected so that they make peace for them. Only what they have made
peace for is obliged of them."
Muwatta Malik Book 21, Hadith 52
I asked Ibn 'Abbas (about the verse relating to intentional homicide in Surat An-Nisa') He said: When the verse "Those who invoke not with Allah any other god, nor slay such life as Allah had made sacred, except for just cause" was revealed, the polytheists of Mecca said: We have killed the soul prohibited by Allah, invoked another god along with Allah for worship, and committed shameful deeds. So Allah revealed the verse "unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good." This is meant for them. As regards the verse "if a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell" He said: If a man knows the command of Islam and intentionally kills a believer, his repentance wil not be accepted. I then mentioned it to Mujahid. He said: "Except the one who is ashamed (of his sin)."
Sunan Abi Dawud Book 37, Hadith 34
While the Prophet (ﷺ) was saying something in a gathering, a Bedouin came and asked him, "When
would the Hour (Doomsday) take place?" Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) continued his talk, so some people said that
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had heard the question, but did not like what that Bedouin had asked. Some of them
said that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had not heard it. When the Prophet (ﷺ) finished his speech, he said, "Where is
the questioner, who inquired about the Hour (Doomsday)?" The Bedouin said, "I am here, O Allah's
Apostle ." Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour (Doomsday)." The
Bedouin said, "How will that be lost?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When the power or authority comes in the
hands of unfit persons, then wait for the Hour (Doomsday.)"
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 3, Hadith 1
The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered us to do seven (things) and forbade us from seven (other things): He ordered us
to pay a visit to the sick, to follow funeral possessions, to say: May Allah be merciful to you to a
sneezer, - if he says: Praise be to Allah, to accept invitation (invitation to a wedding banquet), to
return greetings, to help the oppressed, and to help others to fulfill their oaths (provided it was not
sinful). And he forbade us from seven (things): to wear golden rings or golden bangles, to wear silk
(cloth), Dibaj, Sundus and Mayathir.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih from his
father from Abu Hurayra that a man of the Aslam tribe said, "I did not
sleep last night." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, said to him, "For what reason?" He said, "A scorpion
bit me." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, said, "Had you said in the evening, 'I seek refuge with the
complete words of Allah from the evil of what He has created, 'it
would not have happened."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam that Ata ibn
Yasar said, "A man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, and asked him about the time of the subh prayer.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did
not answer him, but in the morning he prayed subh at first light. The
following morning he prayed subh when it was much lighter, and then
said, 'Where is the man who was asking about the time of the prayer?'
The man replied, 'Here I am, Messenger of Allah.' He said,'The time is
between these two.' "
