When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) fought the battle of Khaibar, or when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went towards it,
(whenever) the people, (passed over a high place overlooking a valley, they raised their voices saying,
"Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped except Allah." On that Allah's
Apostle said (to them), "Lower your voices, for you are not calling a deaf or an absent one, but you
are calling a Hearer Who is near and is with you." I was behind the riding animal of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)
and he heard me saying. "There Is neither might, nor power but with Allah," On that he said to me, "O
`Abdullah bin Qais!" I said, "Labbaik. O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!" He said, "Shall I tell you a sentence which
is one of the treasures of Paradise" I said, "Yes, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Let my father and mother be
sacrificed for your sake." He said, "It is: There is neither might nor power but with Allah."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 245
"I entered upon 'Abdullah bin 'Amr and said: O uncle, tell me what the Messenger of Allah said to you. He said: O son of my brother, I had resolved to strive very hard until I said: I will fast for the rest of my life and I will read the whole Quran every day and night. The Messenger of Allah heard about that, and came in to me in my house, and said: I have heard that you said, I will fast for a lifetime and will read the Quran. I said: I did say that, O Messenger of Allah. He said; Do not do that. Fast three days of each month. I said: I am able to do more than that. He said: fast two days of each week, Monday and Thursday. I said: I am able to do more than that. He said; Observe the fast of Dawud, peace be upon him, for it is the best kind of fasting before Allah; one day fasting, and one day not fasting. And when he made a promise he did not break it, and when he met (the enemy in battle) he did not flee." 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."
Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 22, Hadith 304
That he heard Sahl bin Sa`d being asked about the wounds of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "By Allah, I
know who washed the wounds of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and who poured water (for washing them), and with
what he was treated." Sahl added, "Fatima, the daughter of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to wash the wounds,
and `Ali bin Abi Talib used to pour water from a shield. When Fatima saw that the water aggravated
the bleeding, she took a piece of a mat, burnt it, and inserted its ashes into the wound so that the blood
was congealed (and bleeding stopped). His canine tooth got broken on that day, and face was
wounded, and his helmet was broken on his head."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 120
Ya`la used to say, "I wish I could see Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at the time he is being inspired Divinely." When
the Prophet (ﷺ) was at Al-Ja'rana and was shaded by a garment hanging over him and some of his
companions were with him, a man perfumed with scent came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What is
your opinion regarding a man who assumes Ihram and puts on a cloak after perfuming his body with
scent?" The Prophet (ﷺ) waited for a while, and then the Divine Inspiration descended upon him. `Umar
pointed out to Ya`la, telling him to come. Ya`la came and pushed his head (underneath the screen
which was covering the Prophet (ﷺ) ) and behold! The Prophet's face was red and he kept on breathing
heavily for a while and then he was relieved. Thereupon he said, "Where is the questioner who asked
me about `Umra a while ago?" The man was sought and then was brought before the Prophet (ﷺ) who said
(to him), "As regards the scent which you perfumed your body with, you must wash it off thrice, and
as for your cloak, you must take it off; and then perform in your `Umra all those things which you
perform in Hajj."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 66, Hadith 7
Yahya said that Malik said, "The position with us concerning a
man who has zakat to pay on one hundred camels but then the zakat
collector does not come to him until zakat is due for a second timeand
by that time all his camels have died except five, is that the zakat
collector assesses from the five camels the two amounts of zakat that
are due from the owner of the animals, which in this case is only two
sheep, one for each year. This is because the only zakat which an
owner of livestock has to pay is what is due from him on the day that
the zakat is (actually) assessed. His livestock may have died or it
may have increased, and the zakat collector only assesses the zakat on
what he (actually) finds on the day he makes the assessment. If more
than one payment of zakat is due from the owner of the livestock, he
still only has to pay zakat according to what the zakat collector
(actually) finds in his possession, and if his livestock has died, or
several payments of zakat are due from him and nothing is taken until
all his livestock has died, or has been reduced to an amount below
that on which he has to pay zakat, then he does not have to pay any
zakat, and there is no liability (on him) for what has died or for the
years that have passed.
Muwatta Malik Book 17, Hadith 29
Barirah came (to `Aisha) and said, "I have made a contract of emancipation with my masters for nine
Uqiyas (of gold) to be paid in yearly installments. Therefore, I seek your help." `Aisha said, "If your
masters agree, I will pay them the sum at once and free you on condition that your Wala' will be for
me." Barirah went to her masters but they refused that offer. She (came back) and said, "I presented to
them the offer but they refused, unless the Wala' was for them." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) heard of that and
asked me about it, and I told him about it. On that he said, "Buy and manumit her and stipulate that
the Wala' should be for you, as Wala' is for the liberator." `Aisha added, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then got up
amongst the people, Glorified and Praised Allah, and said, 'Then after: What about some people who
impose conditions which are not present in Allah's Laws? So, any condition which is not present in
Allah's Laws is invalid even if they were one-hundred conditions. Allah's ordinance is the truth, and
Allah's condition is stronger and more solid. Why do some men from you say, O so-and-so! manumit
the slave but the Wala will be for me? Verily, the Wala is for the liberator."
