"Banu Murrah bin 'Ubaid sent me to bring the Sadaqah from their wealth of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I arrived with him in Al-Madinah and found him sitting between the Muhajirin and the Ansar." He said: "Then he took my hand and brought me to the home of Umm Salamah and he said: 'Do you have any food?' So a bowl containing a lot of Tharid with pieces of meat was brought to us, and presented for us to eat from it. So I began wandering my around it while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ate from what was in front of him. He grabbed my right hand with his left hand, then he said: 'O 'Ikrash! Eat from one spot, for indeed the food is one.' Then a plate containing various dried dates" - or fresh dates - 'Ubaidullah (a narrator) was not sure. He said: "I began eating what was in front of me, while the hand of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) roamed about the plate. He said: 'O 'Ikrash! Eat from wherever you like, for indeed it is not all from the same variety.' Then water was brought, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) washed his hands, and with the wetness of his hands he wiped his face, his forearms, and his head, and he said: 'O Ikrash! This is the Wudu' for that which has been altered by fire.'"
This Hadith is Gharib, we do not know of it except through the narration of Al-'Ala' bin Al-Fadl, and Al-Ala'was alone with this narration, and there is more in the story in the Hadith. And we do not know a Hadith from the Prophet (ﷺ) by 'Ikrash except this.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi Book 25, Hadith 64
Malik related to me from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman from Yazid,
the mawla of al-Munbaith that Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani said, "A man
came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, and asked him about finds. He said, 'Memorize the
characteristics of the object found, then publicise it for a year. If
the owner comes, give it to him. If not, then it is your business.' He
said, 'What about lost sheep, Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'They are
yours, your brother's or the wolf's.' He said, 'And the lost camel?'
He said, 'It's none of your concern. It has its water and its feet. It
will reach water and eat trees until its owner finds it.' "
Muwatta Malik Book 36, Hadith 63
A man who wants to perform the Hajj (from Mecca) can perform the Tawaf around the Ka`ba as long
as he is not in the state of Ihram till he assumes the Ihram for Hajj. Then, if he rides and proceeds to
`Arafat, he should take a Hadi (i.e. animal for sacrifice), either a camel or a cow or a sheep, whatever
he can afford; but if he cannot afford it, he should fast for three days during the Hajj before the day of
`Arafat, but if the third day of his fasting happens to be the day of `Arafat (i.e. 9th of Dhul-Hijja) then
it is no sin for him (to fast on it). Then he should proceed to `Arafat and stay there from the time of the
`Asr prayer till darkness falls. Then the pilgrims should proceed from `Arafat, and when they have
departed from it, they reach Jam' (i.e. Al-Muzdalifa) where they ask Allah to help them to be
righteous and dutiful to Him, and there they remember Allah greatly or say Takbir (i.e. Allah is
Greater) and Tahlil (i.e. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah) repeatedly before dawn
breaks. Then, after offering the morning (Fajr) prayer you should pass on (to Mina) for the people
used to do so and Allah said:--
"Then depart from the place whence all the people depart. And ask for Allah's Forgiveness. Truly!
Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (2.199) Then you should go on doing so till you throw
pebbles over the Jamra.
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 65, Hadith 46
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ubaydullah ibn Abd ar-Rahman
that Ubayd ibn Hunayn, the mawla of the family of Zayd ibn al Khattab,
said that he had heard Abu Hurayra say, "I was going along with the
Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when he
heard a man reciting Surat al-Ikhlas (Sura 112). The Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'It is
obligatory,' and I asked him, 'What is, Messenger of Allah?' and he
said, 'The Garden.' I wanted to tell the man the good news but I was
afraid that I would miss the midday meal with the Messenger of Allah,
may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I preferred to eat with
the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. When
I went to the man afterwards I found that he had gone."
Muwatta Malik Book 15, Hadith 20
Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that his
father said, "It used to be that a man would divorce his wife and then
return to her before her idda was over, and that was alright, even if
he divorced her a thousand times. The man went to his wife and then
divorced her and when the end of her idda was in sight, he took her
back and then divorced her and said, 'No! By Allah, I will not go to
you and you will never be able to marry again.' Allah, the Blessed,
the Exalted, sent down, 'Divorce is twice, then honourable retention
or setting free kindly.' People then turned towards divorce in a new
light from that day whether or not they were divorced or not
divorced."
Muwatta Malik Book 29, Hadith 88
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "While three men were walking, It started raining and they took shelter (refuge) in a
cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled down from the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave. They
said to each other, "Think of good deeds which you did for Allah's sake only, and invoke Allah by
giving reference to those deeds so that He may remove this rock from you."
One of them said, 'O Allah! I had old parents and small children and I used to graze the sheep for
them. On my return to them in the evening, I used to milk (the sheep) and start providing my parents
first of all before my children. One day I was delayed and came late at night and found my parents
sleeping. I milked (the sheep) as usual and stood by their heads. I hated to wake them up and disliked
to give milk to my children before them, although my children were weeping (because of hunger) at
my feet till the day dawned. O Allah! If I did this for Your sake only, kindly remove the rock so that
we could see the sky through it.' So, Allah removed the rock a little and they saw the sky.
The second man said, 'O Allah! I was in love with a cousin of mine like the deepest love a man may
have for a woman. I wanted to outrage her chastity but she refused unless I gave her one hundred
Dinars. So, I struggled to collect that amount. And when I sat between her legs, she said, 'O Allah's
slave! Be afraid of Allah and do not deflower me except rightfully (by marriage).' So, I got up. O
Allah! If I did it for Your sake only, please remove the rock.' The rock shifted a little more.
Then the third man said, 'O Allah! I employed a laborer for a Faraq of rice and when he finished his
job and demanded his right, I presented it to him, but he refused to take it. So, I sowed the rice many
time till I gathered cows and their shepherd (from the yield). (Then after some time) He came and said
to me, 'Fear Allah (and give me my right)." I said, 'Go and take those cows and the shepherd.' He said,
'Be afraid of Allah! Don't mock at me.' I said, 'I am not mocking at you. Take (all that).' So, he took all
that. O Allah! If I did that for Your sake only, please remove the rest of the rock.' So, Allah removed
the rock."
Sahih al-Bukhari Book 41, Hadith 14
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If anyone drinks wine, flog him; if he repeats it, flog him, and if he repeats it, flog him. If he does it again a third or a fourth time, kill him. A man who had drunk wine was brought (to him) and he gave him lashes. He was again brought to him, and he flogged him. He was again brought to him and he flogged him. He was again brought to him and he flogged him. The punishment of killing (for drinking) was repealed, and a concession was allowed.
Sufyan said: Al-Zuhri transmitted this tradition when Mansur b. al-Mu'tamir amd Mukhawwal b. Rashid were present with him. He said to them: Take this tradition as a present to the people of Iraq.
Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by al-Sharid b. Suwaid, Sharahbil b. Aws, 'Abd Allah b. 'Amr, 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar, Abu Ghutaif al-Kindi, and Abu Salamah b. 'Abd al-Rahman from Abu Hurairah.
