Shoichi Imayoshi - Ability Equipment Guide
In Kuroko's Basketball: Street Rivals, Shoichi Imayoshi is the highly intelligent and manipulative captain of Touou Academy. Operating as a Point Guard (PG), Imayoshi does not rely on flashy speed or ankle breakers. Instead, his playstyle revolves entirely around psychological warfare—bullying the opposing point guard with elite perimeter defense, mind-reading interceptions, and completely breaking the enemy's spirit by sinking demoralizing, heavily contested buzzer-beating 3-pointers.
To maximize Imayoshi's calculating and cruel playstyle, you must equip a Mind Games & Clutch Shooter build that heavily buffs his 3-Point, Steal, Pass, and Control stats.
1. Best Potentials (Base Stat Runes)
Imayoshi is a hybrid 3-and-D (Three-Point and Defense) Point Guard. You want to make him an absolute pest on defense while ensuring his outside shot is a lethal threat whenever the opposing defense collapses on your ace.
🔵 Blue Potentials (Offense): 3-Point & Control
Why: Imayoshi's most demoralizing offensive tool is his 3-pointer. Boosting his 3-Point stat ensures that when he pulls up, it splashes. Control ensures your dribble is secure while you are calculating your next move and running down the clock.
🟡 Yellow Potentials (Hybrid): 3-Point & Steal
Why: This is the ultimate Imayoshi rune. Maintaining your 3-Point lethality while heavily boosting your Steal stat allows you to play suffocating, aggressive on-ball defense against the enemy PG, completely dismantling their offensive plays.
🟢 Green Potentials (Defense/Utility): Steal & Pass (or Control)
Why: Doubling down on Steal turns him into a terrifying perimeter defender. Boosting his Pass stat guarantees his rapid kick-outs to isolation scorers like Aomine safely reach their target. (Control is a viable alternative if you are holding the ball for long periods).
2. Best Traits (Passive Abilities)
Imayoshi's traits should reflect his signature moments from the anime: hitting shots when the pressure is highest, and punishing the opponent's mental mistakes.
⏱️ Clutch Shooter / Buzzer Beater
Effect: Significantly boosts your shooting hit-rate and anti-interference when the shot clock is running low (usually under 5-8 seconds) or at the very end of the game.
Why: This is Imayoshi's signature weapon. He loves to hold the ball, make the defense sweat, and drain a 3-pointer right as the buzzer sounds. This trait makes those late-clock desperation shots nearly guaranteed.
🧠 Mind Games / Interceptor
Effect: Increases the success rate of auto-intercepting passes in passing lanes, and significantly boosts your Steal success rate when the ball handler holds the ball for too long.
Why: Imayoshi's greatest weapon is his brain. This trait turns him into a defensive nightmare. By reading the opponent's habits, you can easily pick off lazy passes or rip the ball from a PG trying to stall for time.
🧘♂️ Calm Demeanor / Unwavering
Effect: Greatly reduces the penalty to shooting accuracy when a defender is heavily contesting (interfering) with your shot.
Why: Because you will often be shooting at the very end of the shot clock, defenders will anticipate your shot and jump. This trait ensures your 3-pointers still splash perfectly even with a hand directly in your face.
💡 Strategy Tips
- Run Down the Clock: Play psychological warfare. Don't rush your offense. Slowly walk the ball up the court, pass it around, and wait for the shot clock to drop. This not only activates your "Clutch Shooter" trait but completely disrupts the opponent's rhythm and frustrates them.
- Bait and Punish: Imayoshi is a master of fakes. Because your 3-point stat is so high, opponents *must* jump when you pump fake. Send them flying, step to the side, and either hit the open 3 or execute a fast pass to your Center rolling to the basket.
- Bully the Matchup: On defense, stick to the enemy PG like glue. Do not give them space to breathe. Use your high Steal stat to constantly poke at the ball. Even if you don't get the steal, the constant pressure will force them to make panicked passes.
