Kazunari Takao - Ability Equipment Guide
In Kuroko's Basketball: Street Rivals, Kazunari Takao is Shutoku High's brilliant Point Guard (PG). Utilizing his "Hawk Eye," Takao possesses a 360-degree vision of the entire basketball court. This makes him the ultimate counter to stealth players like Kuroko and an absolute nightmare in the passing lanes. He excels at rapid playmaking, intercepting passes, and executing flawless behind-the-back dishes to his primary scorers.
To maximize Takao's incredible court vision, you must equip an Interceptor & Elite Playmaker build that heavily buffs his Pass, Steal, Run (Movement Speed), and Control stats.
1. Best Potentials (Base Stat Runes)
Takao is all about ball movement and forcing turnovers. You want to make him so fast on defense that opposing players are terrified to throw a pass anywhere near his side of the court.
🔵 Blue Potentials (Offense/Utility): Pass & Control
Why: The "Pass" stat increases the speed and success rate of Takao's complex behind-the-back and blind passes. Control ensures his dribbles are secure against aggressive stealers, allowing him time to map out the court and find the perfect assist.
🟡 Yellow Potentials (Hybrid): Pass & Steal
Why: This is the perfect PG hybrid rune. Maintaining high Pass stats for his offensive facilitation while significantly boosting his Steal stat allows him to rip the ball away in 1-on-1 situations on defense.
🟢 Green Potentials (Defense/Utility): Steal & Run
Why: The "Run" stat is critical for Takao. Increasing his movement speed allows him to cover massive amounts of the court quickly. Combined with his high Steal stat, he can jump into passing lanes at the very last second to intercept the ball.
2. Best Traits (Passive Abilities)
Takao's traits should maximize his natural intercepting capabilities, reward him for setting up his teammates, and punish opponents for careless passing.
🦅 Hawk Eye / Interceptor
Effect: Significantly increases the trigger chance and success rate of automatically intercepting an opponent's pass when standing in the passing lane.
Why: This is Takao's bread and butter. Thanks to his Hawk Eye, he naturally has a larger interception radius than other players. This trait turns him into a defensive black hole that completely shuts down the opposing team's ball movement.
🤝 Assist Master / Playmaker
Effect: Increases the shooting hit-rate and anti-interference of a teammate for a short duration immediately after they receive a pass from you.
Why: Takao is the perfect partner for elite shooters like Midorima. Giving your SG or SF a free accuracy buff ensures that every time you use a quick pass, it results in a guaranteed bucket.
⚡ Quick Hands / Steal Master
Effect: Increases manual steal success rate and reduces the recovery animation time if you miss a steal attempt.
Why: When you aren't waiting for an interception, you will be harassing the enemy PG. This allows you to apply constant on-ball pressure without leaving yourself completely exposed if you mistime a swipe.
💡 Strategy Tips
- Lurk the Passing Lanes: Do not just glue yourself to the opposing Point Guard. Hover slightly off your man and position yourself between the ball-handler and their main scorer. Let your "Hawk Eye" trait automatically snatch the pass out of the air.
- Counter Kuroko: You are the natural enemy of Kuroko. Your Hawk Eye cancels out his "Misdirection" blind spots. Pay close attention to Kuroko's position; you can easily steal the ball from him or intercept his Ignite Passes because you can "see" him clearly on the court.
- Drive and Kick: Use your fast movement speed to drive toward the paint. The moment the opposing Center or Forward steps up to block you, use Takao's signature behind-the-back pass to instantly feed your open Shooting Guard on the perimeter.
